I’ve stayed in many different places in Bend over the years and Don’s cottage is by far my favorite. It’s just the loveliest little place, a real sanctuary, with an incredible location—a couple minutes’ walk to Mirror Pond, and a five-minute walk to downtown. It’s light and bright and beautifully designed, with everything you could ever need—a washing machine, extra towels and blankets, all bathroom amenities. We prepared most of our meals at the cottage, and the kitchen is exceptionally well stocked, with all sorts of dishware, glassware, pots and pans, small kitchen appliances, and utensils; there’s even a melon baller! We spent many hours out on the cottage’s patio, which overlooks Don and Marlene’s gorgeous and meticulously maintained backyard. We saw deer, squirrels, hummingbirds, and the sweetest family of quail with chicks. Parking was easy, you park the car on a dedicated stretch of cobblestones just outside the cottage’s private entrance, along a peaceful and quiet alleyway, so getting in and out is a breeze. I loved every minute of our stay here and can’t wait to return!

Don met us upon arrival , and allowed an early check in to clean up for a wedding welcome party. The cottage is cuter than the pictures and we found every comfort was anticipated. Clean and well stocked with coffee and everyday condiments. We were lucky enough to see the 2 fawn in their special spot , and the doe later at night. Enjoyed downtown walks along the river and in the downtown - great shops, Bend Brewery, restaurants and coffee houses. Something for everyone. This will be first choice upon returning to Bend.

Close to downtown. Don provides a great little back yard cottage with a nice patio outside seating area. Private and quiet. Slept well. Great shower. Kitchen was perfect. Thanks for the respite!

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Bend. Our stay was lovely. The River Terrace Cottage was immaculate and had everything we needed. The host was easy to reach, quickly answered any questions, and provided clear information/directions so we knew what to expect. The garden is stunning, we enjoyed time out on the patio…the area is quiet and relaxing. It’s a pretty cottage with a well-stocked kitchen, bath, bedroom and LR. Clearly the host has gone out of their way to accommodate guests and anticipate needs/wants. The location is very close to downtown and just around the corner from the river: very walkable. We absolutely would recommend and hope to return for another stay in the future.

Clean, comfortable and well appointed property with very responsive and respectful hosts! We had a wonderful stay. We walked from the cottage to restaurants, breweries, the ice cream shop and the trail along the river. I cooked dinner and breakfast in the cottage and all cookware and utensils were easy to find and in good repair. Highly recommend!

We didn’t want to leave this sweet, comfortable, clean cottage! It was marvelous to leave the car at home and walk to the river front and so many delightful eateries. Don was a wonderful host who anticipated all our needs. The garden was divine with a stunning paper bark birch tree and a family of 4 deer outside the kitchen table window. This cottage was very well planned (outlets just where you need them) and well equipped (nice kitchenware!). We hope to return soon.

The cottage had everything we needed for our visit to downtown Bend area. We were in a very short walking distance to the wonderful river path and the old downtown Bend area - both of which we wanted to visit. The cottage had everything we needed for our stay; comfortable bed, stocked kitchen, beautiful patio area for relaxing, perfectly clean and stocked with kitchen and bath supplies. Don is a great host - attentive without being intrusive. Bonus for us, the electric charging for our car worked smoothly and conveniently for our stay. We wish we could have stayed longer and plan to return, as Bend area has so much more to explore than we had time to visit and the cottage is ideal for relaxation time as well.
