Stayed Mar 26, 2025Lottie is great for absolutely every small thing. The atmosphere is easy and relaxed. But the surroundings are stunning. To have the wrap around porch, a view of the golf course and the horses in the valley, and a constant breeze made being at the house as wonderful as being on the beach. After 30 years, its the first time we wanted to spend at least half days on our porch in the breeze. AC wasn't even necessary. Bonuses included the large, always empty pool and a baby macaw stop by for a visit along ...with a few sweet rescue puppies. We always have a car and we switch up where we go every day, but this was a perfect location - close to Holetown and Speightstown, so we were close to restaurants, take out, great beaches. THe restaurant across the street was also a new discovery (THE DECK) good food, awesome view, and a great alternative if we didn't want to go out) EVERYTHING perfect. We've booked for next year. And we're hoping to spread out and bring the (older) kids to take the second little charming cottage on the property. THANK YOU LOTTIE!

Stayed Mar 15, 2025Wonderful Stay at Humming Bird Cottages! Our stay at Humming Bird Cottages in Barbados was absolutely fantastic! From the moment we arrived, the cottage was spotlessly clean and welcoming. Lottie, the host, was incredibly friendly and accommodating throughout our stay, making sure we had everything we needed. The villa itself is well-equipped with all the essentials, and the outdoor space is simply amazing. The tropical garden is full of beautiful wildlife, and we loved spotting monkeys, parakeets, hummingbirds, and even a mongoose! The pool was perfect for relaxing, and the barbecue area was great for outdoor dining. The location is ideal, especially if you have a car, as it provides easy access to some of the best spots on the island. We truly enjoyed every moment of our stay and are already looking forward to rebooking in the future. Highly recommended!

Stayed Jan 7, 2023We spent two weeks at Hummingbird in January 2023. The location is excellent overlooking the Westmoreland Golf Course and a horse paddock (with a troop of monkeys). Less than a ten minute drive to the lovely beaches on the west coast and about 15 minutes to our favourite at Gibbes. The extensive grounds are very attractive and well maintained. The manager/owner lives on site and is very helpful and personable. As to the bungalow itself we were very pleased with it...the deck area is brilliant (dining table; comfortable loungers & chairs; a hammock) and we spend a lot of time there. We also enjoyed the lounge (availability of Netflix and very good wi-fi was welcome). We also liked the gas BBQ which we used most evenings when not dining out. The kitchen was basic and functional but had everything we needed. It wasn't well lit but not a big issue. A car is essential for getting around/doing the supermarket run but a small price to pay for the privacy and space. Compared to a hotel its no contest. Recommended.

Stayed Apr 2, 2022Firstly I'm not sure the photos do this property justice. The views are spectacular, it was so wonderful to sit on the terrace and feel the perfect breeze and view nature. We so wanted to see monkeys and see them we did - multiple monkeys every morning who came and ate bananas from our terrace. There are horses, cats and a dog - all super friendly. The whole site is very safe and secure so our 9 year old daughter ran around and loved it. The pool and slide is perfect and we had the whole area to ourselves. The property is really well equipped, the bedrooms a great size and the bathroom is huge. We could stay here for months and will definitely be back. It's a great base for exploring from and the hosts are super friendly and on site. It's a 5 mins drive to Holetown which has groceries, bars, restaurants and of course the beach. The terrace has a wide range of seating but only one hammock so if you're like us you'll all fight for a turn as it was just wonderful to lie in and listen to the breeze! Wonderful place!
