For watersports enthusiasts, the quiet lake is ideal for dinghy sailing and canoeing, whilst the less active can enjoy a leisure cruise on the beautiful steam yacht 'Gondola’, or visit Brantwood, the former home of John Ruskin. Nearby attractions include the award-winning village of Hawkshead, home of the Beatrix Potter Gallery, Tarn Hows, one of the most visited beauty spots in the country and Esthwaite Water, famous for its fishing.     The property is in need of serious structural updates. The top most bedroom has mold damage under the rug and smells so unbearable that the bedroom is unusable. The power goes out every time you use the washing machine. And we had to buy our own toilet paper for a toilet which barely flushes.

    Had a wonderful stay for our family at this property! Such a lovely remote location, you could say it is in a middle of nowhere, however we came from a city down south so this was a bliss, the wilderness around, the quietness everywhere, no light pollution whatsoever could easily star gaze in the evenings if weather was nice. Found everything we needed in the property, fireplace was massively appreciated and used daily, nice little touch with welcome pack containing teas milk sugar and biscuits. Had a truly lovely stay, would highly recommend and would definitely stay again. Thank you!!!!
