Stayed Oct 9, 2025We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Treehouse Cottage. The cottage was cozy and had all the right amenities for our stay. We especially loved the balconies that overlooked the Kalamazoo River and the cottage's proximity to local attractions. It's just a short walk to Water and Butler streets. We also enjoyed the challenge of the 303 step Mt. Baldhead climb and dune walk that took us to Oval Beach. Gary was very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this property.

Stayed Aug 29, 2025Great location and the house is really cute. We skipped the beach and hung out all day in the lawn on the river enjoying our own private parade of boats. We also spent a lot of time on the screened porch.

Stayed Jun 28, 2025The house was very clean and beds were comfortable. The screen porch with the river view was where we spent most of our time. The location was perfect to walk to town for meals. The home is old, historic with a significant lean, most noticeable on the lower level. Although the bathrooms and kitchen have been upgraded with new appliances, is does take some getting used to. Overall, my family and I enjoyed our stay.

Stayed Jul 12, 2025We absolutely love this house! It has amazing views, character and charm. Just a short walk to downtown Saugatuck where we enjoyed the shopping, bars and restaurants. One of our favorite spots in the house was the screened in porch ( dogs too). Thanks Gary and Jan for being so accommodating. We will definitely return.

Stayed May 9, 2025The Treehouse Cottage was the perfect accommodation for our girls weekend. Plenty of room for six (and my dog) with bedrooms overlooking the river and a nice kitchen and living room. The two spacious decks are wonderful spots for breakfast, a wine and cheese happy hour, or just reading a book. The location can’t be beat as it is walking distance to town and a short drive to the Saugatuck Dunes State Park or Douglas. But the place is so cozy and the views so amazing you may have a hard time getting motivated to leave. Thanks Gary and Jan!

Stayed May 2, 2025We had a wonderful time staying at this treehouse cottage. The house is clean, well-equipped, has beautiful views of the water from both upper and lower back porches, and lovely front/back yards. We watched the boats go up/down the river, loved seeing a variety of birds and rabbits, and overall the experience was relaxing and perfect. Restaurants and the town are within walking distance too, but the parking area for this VRBO allows ample private space for 3 SUVs, which is nice as well. I highly recommend this property for vacations. The owners are very gracious and responsive, and I will definitely be back again. What a gem of a place.

Saugatuck and Douglas are always a treat. Great shopping and dining options. A short drive to the state park. Nothing better than Lake Michigan’s freshwater beaches!

Stayed Sep 6, 2024This cozy little cottage was perfect for our weekend getaway. My son and I decided to take a last minute adventure to Saugatuck and I'm so glad that we did. Check in was easy, the beds were comfy, the porch was cozy in the mornings with coffee, and the fireplace was nice too. The yard is spacious- if you we had more time, I'm sure we would've spent more time out back watching the boats go up and down the river. The yard was meticulously manicured. There were plenty of blankets and games...although we didn't even get a chance to play games because we were so busy adventuring. The cottage is a 5 -7 min walk to the main strip in Saugatuck. We were going to take the chain ferry across the river, but it's only in operation from Memorial Day to Labor Day. That was ok though, its a short little 15 min drive to Mt. Baldhead. We drove over and walked up the stairs to the beautiful overlook of the Saugatuck harbor village. We then walked down the other side all the way to Lake Michigan. We also did the Saugatuck Dune Rides, which was a blast. The next day we drove to Holland with the suggestion of the owners, Gary and Janet and had breakfast over there, along with a visit to the windmill and lighthouse. We will definitely come back and stay in the Treehouse Cottage....hopefully this fall when the leaves are changing colors.
