Everything is wonderful about this amazing home and neighborhood! So close to Lover's Point, one of the most beautiful areas in the world. Easy walk to restaurants and shopping too. Barbara's home is immaculate and provides all that's needed for a cozy get away. We stayed for two weeks! We were there for work and visiting our new little granddaughter on this trip! We truly look forward to our next trip :)

Once again, a memorable stay in this perfect cottage. Comfortable, immaculate, and full of charm, it never fails to make me feel as if I have come home, no matter how many times I leave and return. The front porch is one of my favorite places to be in Pacific Grove, that, and in a comfortable chair front of the fireplace after the sun has gone down. This visit I was especially appreciative of the kitchen, always a light-filled and generous space, as I invited two friends over for dinner one evening and had everything I needed and more to prepare dinner (or most of dinner - Key Lime tarts from Bechlers Bakery at the top of the hill had been requested). It is one of the most beautifully stocked kitchens I have had the pleasure to use. Barbara is a wonderful host, warm and attentive and quick to respond to any needs or questions. Already fantasizing about my next visit.

Whenever my husband and I travel to Pacific Grove area, this cottage is the one we like to return to time and time again. We absolutely love it! So cozy and comfortable. The bed - best night’s sleep! The kitchen - well equipped and a joy to cook in or just heat up take out. Also just the great ambience of a cottage kitchen! And a cozy fire to warm by after a cold day’s outing. Location - so close to Lover’s Point and the beautiful bay.Truly our “home away from home”. Thank you, Barbara, for sharing your idyllic gem with us.

Barbara’s cottage is a delightful place to stay and is situated in a great location a few minutes walk from the beach. The cottage is beautifully decorated and furnished, marrying more traditional features with modern amenities. It was comfortable to relax in the sitting room or on the porch, where the fragrant plants attract hummingbirds. Staying in October we made use of the heater in the library and living room fire which heated the whole cottage in no time. A fan heater made the bathroom toasty first thing. Barbara is an excellent host and you can tell from her communications that your experience in the property is important to her. She has thought of everything you might need during your stay so if you choose to cook for yourself the equipment is there. We particularly enjoyed reading about the historical background of the cottage and Pacific Grove. Pacific Grove itself has a lovely main area with shops and restaurants and it is only a few minutes drive from attractions in Monterey. Our only negative is that we didn’t stay long enough and we hope to return in future.

Wonderful, homey stay! One could make a Thanksgiving Dinner in the kitchen with all the spices, beautiful plates, wine glasses etc on hand. She thought of absolutely everything one would want not to mentioned all the wonderful books to read in addition to the information on the area. And the bed was very comfortable! We spent 5 days there and if we ever returned to the area, most definitely would stay there again. Of mention as I'm not sure it was stated but there is only off street parking. As we visiting in early October, it wasn't an issue for us however in the busy months given the beach is close, I could see it being an issue.

This was our fifth stay at the Cottage at the Cove. We always feel so at home and comfortable while staying in this beautiful historical cottage. We enjoy sitting on the front porch, sipping our coffee and green tea, listening to the sounds of the seashore. Lovers Cove is less than a five-minute walk away. We look forward to our return!

Anyone with an appreciation for history and love of the ocean will most certainly enjoy their stay here! The cottage itself is a well-maintained Victorian sea cottage with plenty of charm and character and is within walking distance of a plethora of local shops and restaurants, and just a mile walk to Cannery Row. Barbara has made sure all of the comforts of home are available and detailed instructions for various things made everything easy to manage. We would definitely stay here again!

Good location, perfect for 2 people. Loved the fireplace. Street parking. Close to Lovers Point. Beautiful walk along the Shoreline Park to the Monterey Aquarium and Cannery Row, (about a 15-20 minute walk). We enjoyed our time there very much.

Barbara was a responsive host! She gave all the details, even for information that I didn’t know that needed, but did!. I really enjoyed the home. It’s very warm and sweet. The best part is it’s super close to the beach. I was able to work on the porch and be able to still see the ocean! What a joy. One little hint, I came in at night and didn’t look in the front closet again. There are chairs, umbrellas, anything you might need for a beach day provided in that closet. I only discovered it when I was going home.

We stayed two weeks at Barbara's cottage in PG. We were there to visit our kids and for work. We loved every moment of our stay. Barbara was welcoming and answered any questions immediately. The cottage was super set up - warm, welcoming and fully stocked with everything we could have needed. The location was only one short block from the most beautiful coastline and beach and only one (or maybe two) short blocks from amazing restaurants and shops in historic PG. We absolutely loved sitting on the front porch and chatting with neighbors as they walked by. We were so comfortable; we could have stayed forever! Thank you so much. We hope to return in the very near future! Jane and Mark

we were only there for 8 minutes. no heat, subpar kitchen...no heat again, bathroom no heat, bedroom no heat. said there was a tv...didn't say it had a 12 inch screen. We left and never stayed there and now VRBO is refusing to refund us our complete deposit/money for this terrible joke of a rental even though the representative of VRBO told us we would get it all back.

We have stayed in this cottage a few times. We love it! For a couple it's perfect! The kitchen is well stocked if you enjoy cooking; we've stayed in many vacation rentals and this one has everything you need regardless of what activities you enjoy! If you enjoy walking, this location is the BEST! Short walk to beach trails, into Monterey and downtown Pacific Grove. Don't miss the farmers market on Monday afternoons for the best in fruits and vegetables. We will no doubt visit this property again!

The Cottage at the Cove is everything you dream of in a VRBO. Beautifully stocked with everything you need, a short walk from excellent dining and beautiful beaches, and magically cozy. It is located in a quiet neighborhood with a truly comfortable bed for a great night's sleep. All that, and communication with the host is excellent! We can't wait to return!

This is our second time staying at Barbara's lovely cottage. We can't say enough good things about it and the host. The cottage is so cute, and the kitchen is very roomy. Love the fireplace in the living room and best of all is sitting on the front porch and watching deer walk by. We didn't want to leave!
