Hickory Cottage - 1bdrm Retreat

We stayed here for our wedding weekend & it was perfect. We have traveled a lot and this was by far our favorite place we have ever stayed. We even kept talking about how we would love to live here! I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a very nice & adorable cottage. We hope to return here every year to celebrate our anniversary. The hosts were incredibly kind and left us a nice card and surprise in the fridge for us to celebrate our marriage! We were very touched by their thoughtfulness. This property has any & every thing you may need. Our last full day was a little chilly & my husband built us a fire on the outdoor screened-in porch and we watched movies all day while listening to the wildlife behind us. It was perfect. Cannot recommend this place enough!!

Super easy check-in and out. Responsive host. Gorgeous place with lots of extras (screened-in porch, inside and outside fireplaces, porch swings, huge walk in shower, and more). It’s amazing and the attention to details (artistically and functionally) are superb! My wife was in heaven!

This is an exceptional guest cottage. The experience was beyond what words could describe. The cottage itself was peaceful, quaint, and impeccably decorated. Every amenity that you could possibly desire was at your fingertips. The hostess was readily available but respectful of privacy. The pictures couldn’t possibly capture the charm of this cottage. We’ll be returning when visiting the area in the future. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Magical place! We enjoyed the porch swings and a fire on the back screened in porch! The host went above and beyond to accommodate us! We slept great every night!

Best rental I have ever stayed at! The house was immaculate! It was exactly what the pictures showed. There was plenty of room, yet it was so cozy! We ventured nearby towns during the day and stayed at the cottage at night. Built a fire on the outside porch fireplace and read each night we were there. It was the most relaxing few days away that we both needed!

This cottage is beautiful, clean, and secluded. It is close to downtown Greenville and other good shopping, restaurants, and activities. The screened in porch was my favorite part! We hope to stay again!

The Hickory Cottage was absolutely fantastic for a four night stay for us. It's a beautiful home in a lovely and quiet location. It was perfect for us to work from home during the day and go to Greenville for dinner in the evening. The cottage had everything we needed, and Stacey is a phenomenal host. We have stayed at a lot of VRBO's, and this one ranks at the top for value, convenience, and location - outside of the city, but close enough to venture in when we wanted to. It's truly a hidden gem. I highly recommend it for a solo traveler or couple who don't want to stay downtown.

This was a beautiful home in a quiet, peaceful setting--perfect for a getaway with my wife. We loved how secluded it felt with all the trees around us, and then how close it was to downtown Greenville (about 20 minutes) or Greer (15 minutes). It's a fairly new home, and every detail was perfect. We loved sitting out on the screened porch with a fire one evening. Inside there is a gas fireplace, but the weather was nice so we didn't use that one. Bed was comfortable, bathroom luxurious, and the kitchen had incredible appliances. My wife enjoyed having her morning devotional time on the front porch swings. I almost chose not to write a review, because I don't want this to become too popular were we to visit again. ;-)

Everything was perfect! The host was amazing with communication and most importantly everything was CLEAN! It was so nice to have a place that looks exactly like the pictures. This place and host were amazing.

This is by far, the nicest, cleanest, and welcoming places my wife and I have ever stayed for a VRBO. We utilized it as a place to stay while in town for our daughter’s wedding. The finishes in this cottage are perfect. The bathroom has the perfect touches for a relaxing stay. The furniture and appliances are first class. I would pay for this cottage again for a Greenville staycation! Much gratitude for excellent hosts!

This cottage is darling! Spacious, bright, beautifully decorated! We enjoyed the screened porch where we watched TV one afternoon. The bed was really comfortable, and kitchen had everything we needed. The hosts were so accommodating. The photos can’t do justice to how lovely this cottage is in real life.

This was the most wonderful place to stay. It was decorated for Christmas, and it was so warm and welcoming. I am a designer, and my husband is a custom home builder. We noticed right away the beauty of the cottage, warmth and everything you could want or need for your stay. Our host was great! We will stay again and highly recommend this VRBO

This cottage is amazing. If you're into hiking and scenic views, this is the place for a couple to get away. The kitchen was well kept with plenty of tools for cooking. The cottage was beautiful and very serene. So many state parks nearby for hiking. We didn't even go into Greenville as there would've been huge crowds due to fall fest. 10 out of 10.

Rented this amazingly beautiful cottage for a girls weekend with my mom. It is just as pictured. Beautifully decorated, clean and in peaceful setting but close enough to restaurants and various shopping if you want to venture out. Can’t say enough nice things about the hosts, Stacey & Kenny! We had car trouble upon arrival and Kenny got us up with a mechanic that had our vehicle repaired the very next day where the dealership told us it would be 10 days. Will definitely visit again!!!

We had an absolutely phenomenal stay at Stacey and Kenny's Vrbo! The home itself was even more stunning in person - every detail was thoughtfully curated, creating a cozy yet luxurious atmosphere. The home was equipped with everything we needed and more. The kitchen was a dream for cooking meals and the washer and dryer added such convenience to our stay. We especially loved the spa like bathroom and hanging out in the 3 season room to read and listen to the birds. The location was perfect, with easy access to downtown Greenville, other charming towns such as Greer and Travelers Rest and so many fantastic restaurants. Also nearby are Paris Mountain State Park and the Swamp Rabbit Trail, where we had some lovely hikes. Stacey and Kenny's Vrbo is a true gem, and we would love to return again in the future for another unforgettable stay!

Perfect is an understatement, we loved the home!We were impressed as soon as we opened the front door. The home was beautifully decorated, super clean, and updated throughout as well as very comfortable. It has everything you could need, including dishes and cooking supplies. Being centrally located made it easy to visit sites that we wanted to see. Stacey's restaurant suggestions were spot on, enjoyed every dinner! After a day of site seeing, what a treat to return and enjoy a beverage on either porch. We would stay here again without hesitation!

We have stayed at some amazing VRBO’s but this place is now at the top of our list. The photos alone make you want to stay here but seeing it in real life is even better. Saw deer and turkey cross the driveway every night. The owners did an incredible job building and furnishing this place!

This house was perfect!! Exactly as pictured, extremely clean, and very nice. Close enough to downtown Greenville for a night out, but the feeling of staying in a secluded mountain house. The shower was amazing, bed was very comfy and the screened in porch with tv/fireplace was great to watch a game.

This place is terrific. We stayed here last year and the place still looks new. Stacey is a great host and responded to any questions we had. Good location and jumping off point and the cottage is clean and comfortable. Would recommend.

I can only echo the previous reviewers in that this cottage is simply exceptional! This was our first visit to the Greenville area, and we can't wait to come back to stay at Hickory Cottage again soon, as it was located within 20 minutes of downtown Greenville. We hiked Table Rock/Stool Mountain (saw a black bear!) and visited Paris Mountain State Park. Both parks were super convenient to HIckory Cottage. Again, such a gorgeous property, and exactly like the photos. A wonderful long weekend!

The cottage was absolutely gorgeous and so clean. The host were so nice and answered any questions we had. 100% recommend staying here as it was a wonderful place to stay. We will be back to stay here for sure. It's one home we wouldnt hesitate staying at again because I loved every minute there.

Simply beautiful...I absolutely love coming back here. Stacey and Kenny are genuinely the best hosts! The cottage has everything you could want to make your stay here enjoyable. To the walk-in shower with it's spa like feel to the fully equipped kitchen. Everything is so clean and bright. I loved going out on the porch bed swings whether to catch up on some reading or just relax and listen to everything going on in the woods around me. I also enjoyed a fire since the evenings there recently turned cooler. It was nice to finally meet Dora and Squirt and see all the deer that visit from time to time. Thank you Stacey and Kenny for making my stay a memorable one. Looking forward to my next visit soon.

Caught kissing on a Jumbo-tron and need to lay low for a while? This is the place to go. The photos and descriptions for this listing are super accurate, no surprises. The owners have poured their hearts into this place. It's super quite and a great place to relax and just enjoy your time away from home/work. The owners are great and easy to deal with. Looking forward to staying there again.

The Hickory Cottage was beautiful with so many thoughtful details. Tucked away in a wooded section of a very nice rural suburban neighborhood, the cottage was very private and surrounded by trees. The owners (Stacey and Kenny) provided everything we could have wanted for an amazing and relaxing stay. The home was immaculate and beautifully styled. The communication with the owners was easy and friendly. We can wholeheartedly recommend this property as your place to stay while in the Greenville, SC area.

I am fairly critical upon submitting reviews. I found nothing out of place. Cottage is brand new, high end furnishings, has everything you need. You can get lost in the shower. Peaceful, quiet, relaxing. Hosts are a wonderful couple. It’s about 20 minutes to downtown Gville - why I gave location 4 stars. Some like to stay closer to town. Neighborhood is very nice, safe, scenic. Perfect stay for a couple. I would go back again… TOMORROW! Outstanding value for our stay. Thank you so much!

It’s beautifully decorated and has all the creature comforts including a well-stocked kictchen, comfortable bed, and spa-like bathroom. Hickory Cottage is now our favorite place to stay when visiting our daughter at college. The serene setting is convenient to so much the area has to offer. Stacey and Kenny are gracious hosts. Very clean, tastefully appointed and oh so relaxing. Our only regret is that we didn’t spend as much time there as we would have liked. Will be booking again and hoping to enjoy some down time at the cottage.

So glad we found Hickory Cottage! The cottage is so charming and so nicely decorated. It's a perfect getaway for a couple looking to relax and decompress. We loved the privacy of the surrounding woods and the views from all the windows. The screened porch and outdoor swings are wonderful for enjoying a good book and some coffee. The location is only about 25 minutes from downtown Greenville and some great restaurants. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The cottage is a real gem!

We thoroughly enjoyed our time away for a few days escaping to this picture perfect little cottage. The trip was a mini-honeymoon for us after our recent marriage, and we had wedding photos taken downtown Greenville followed by dinner reservations at the most charming Mediterranean restaurant. We were able to also explore and hike Table Rock which is only about 45 min away, and we stopped on our way back through Traveler's Rest for dinner and drinks. So many things to do in the area within just a short drive. The cottage was just as pictured and even more charming in person. My husband brought his guitar, and we enjoyed nights on the screened porch with a fire in the outdoor fireplace (firewood provided). We made the most delicious homemade biscuits and gravy and peach stuffed french toast in the well-equipped kitchen. The porch swings were perfection for morning coffee (k cups provided) wrapped in the cozy blanket provided for our use. The bathroom was a literal dream for relaxing in the soaking tub with candles provided, and it was picture perfect for us getting ready for our wedding photos. The owners were super kind and accommodating. We absolutely loved everything about our stay here. If you're looking for a quiet, relaxing, tranquil stay near Greenville and the surrounding areas, The Cottage is the perfect little escape.

Where to start, we spent a week at this lovely, cozy, welcoming cottage. Our expectations were completely exceeded in every way. From location, to comfort and everything in between. I simply can’t say enough, the hosts are above and beyond wonderful. Hands down the absolute BEST property we have ever had the pleasure of staying. We look forward to visiting again and again! We could not of been happier with our stay in this cottage. It was exactly as described, only better! We felt welcomed with our first step in side the door, so beautifully decorated. The kitchen was well stocked, almost better than ours at home. We were able to cook all meals, amazing appliances, only ate out once. The bedroom was perfect, with ceiling fan, shades that kept the light out when needed and an extremely comfy bed. The bathroom and tub is over the top, and both fit my 6'6 husband comfortably. We spent a lot of time on the daybed swings, relaxing in the screened in porch and decided to stay in for a day to just soak up the peacefulness and tranquility of the cottage and area. Stacey and her husband are a such a delight and go above and beyond to make you feel at home. If you pass on this one, you are making a mistake!! We can't wait to go back. We would definitely give it 100 out of 10 if we could!

Where to begin...this is such a beautiful cottage. The hosts have gone above and beyond in making my stay enjoyable. The whole cottage is huge compared to what I thought a cottage would be like. It is very clean, bright and airy. The front room is a relaxing space where you can cozy up around the fire with a good book or watch your favorite movie on the t.v. The bathroom with it's walk-in shower is one of my favorites..it's like a mini-spa. There was more than enough room in the walk-in closet which was huge for me. I slept like a baby on the king size bed and to wake up to all the sunlight coming thru the windows was such a peaceful feeling. I made great use of the fully equipped kitchen and the washer and dryer. My favorite spot though in the evening was on the front porch enjoying one of the farmhouse bed swings listening to the tree frogs and the crickets. One morning I was able to watch 3 wild turkeys walk across the driveway into the woods. I spent most of the days out and about the area as most places I went to were 30-45 minutes away but still close enough to enjoy Taylors. For anyone that enjoys hiking Paris Mountain is close by with easy trails. I ventured out to Table Rock State Park and took on their trails. I already am looking to see when I can come back as this will be a yearly thing for me!!! Stacey and Kenny, it was a pleasure to meet you both!!! You've outdone yourselves with this place!
