Stayed Nov 14, 2025Great host. Excellent communication. Clean house with a fully stocked kitchen and bathroom. Nicely decorated, comfy bed, lots of space. The internet was good, and we appreciated being so close to the school. The neighborhood was quiet and safe. The only downside was that we like to watch tv in bed before we go to sleep and neither bedroom had a tv in it. Good tv in the living room.

Stayed Aug 2, 2024Loved our stay! Older home but sweet '60-'70 vibe. Cottage was clean and had everything we needed. The wrap around patio could be a great place to hangout. It was just too hot while we were there. Such a sweet touch to have breakfast foods to prepare in the fridge.

Stayed Apr 5, 2026The property was really cute. The best were very comfortable and the location was so convenient. Really close to a lot of restaurants and COFFEE. No tvs in the bedrooms was a bummer. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend.

Stayed Feb 20, 2026Mark was super accommodating and our stay was full of pleasant surprises surpassing what was mentioned in the listing. It was a quick (read: potentially stressful) trip for me and my 2 kiddos and I can honestly say that these little supports took a huge load off. We will definitely stay here again!

Stayed Sep 21, 2025Rooms far more spacious than what the photos looked to be. Plenty of chilly AC, AND ceiling fans. Mattresses the most comfortable I've ever slept in !Breakfast waiting in the fridge? Unheard of !!Relatively quiet neighborhood with the rare exception of neighbor's daytime dog. Liked the private parking driveway and the walk to Lock Stock and Barrel was only 2 blks away.No grocery nearby, but we weren't around enough to cook anything. (Fully stocked kitchen tho and washer and dryer in basement.) The ONLY hitch....A beautiful media entertainment center with big screen TV that was totally unwilling to cooperate for broadcast viewing. Wanted to see Monday Night football and no amount of troubleshooting by 2 people produced zero results. : (Highly doubt I'll be returning to Decatur the town I grew up in, but I cannot recommend highly enough this hidden cottage just off Eldorado Ave. A wholly enjoyable road trip overall. Stayed Aug 21, 2025Mark is an amazing host. Excellent communication. Breakfast items left specifically for us in the fridge were a most appreciated gift. Kitchen had everything we needed. Those considering the property should know that the two bedrooms and the bathroom are upstairs. Beds were comfortable and both rooms had ample space. Instructions for tv use and streaming services were clear and easy to find. Neighborhood is a bit rundown but we did not feel at all unsafe.

Stayed Aug 11, 2025This home is exactly that. A home. It is so warm and welcoming and you feel so good when you walk through the front door. Check in was so easy and the home is exactly what you see online. What you don't see is how easy it is to communicate with Mark. How well stocked the home is. How comfy the furniture and the beds are. This place took me back to my childhood when I used to stay at my grandma's house or my auntie's house. But back to how well the house was stocked. EVERYTHING you may have forgotten, thought you should have brought, or even hadn't thought about bringing until you got to Marks house. Every room was stocked with anything that you might need. The kitchen was FULLY stocked. That was such an amazing surprise. I stay in a lot of rentals and none of them stock the kitchen. Not even with the basic needs. So it was wonderful to get to the house after a long and tedious trip and open the fridge and there was stuff to eat. What a blessing. I would recommend this home to any and everyone. It is quite special. We brought my granddaughter to get setup in her dorm at Millikin University and her dorm was literally a 5 minute walk from the house.

Stayed Nov 27, 2024Cute little house with nostalgic charm. We traveled over Thanksgiving to visit our daughter. We had a small thanksgiving dinner with her. The kitchen was well stocked with breakfast items for us which save a trip to the grocery store! The bed was comfy and we had lots of room. Wasn’t sure about the neighborhood, but we felt safe inside and it was too cold to be outside anyway.

Stayed Oct 25, 2024I absolutely loved staying here. Highly recommend it, and will book it again. I was in town for a conference at Milliken U, and this location was ideal. The host gave excellent directions/instructions. Check-in was easy. The home is clean and comfortable with a kitchen with all of the pots, pans, dishes, etc. I was able to bring my dog and walk him around the neighborhood. Breakfast food was left on the counter and in the refrigerator. Lots of coffees and teas to choose from

Stayed Oct 3, 2024Overall, Haworth Cottage is wonderful...the house has lots of cozy charm & we loved all the eclectic decor, very fun! It probably should be mentioned the bedrooms & bath are upstairs, in case someone has knee issues. And not sure it's completely safe to walk the area at night, but daytime seems okay. Very close to Millikin and would be a delight for anyone visiting the University.

Stayed Aug 5, 2024This is a beautifully maintained home in an old neighborhood, just a stone's throw from the Millikin Homestead. I say hidden gem because I have walked by this house countless times without knowing what what was behind the flower-lined picket fence. The host generously supplied breakfast fixings that saved us from a late run to the grocery the night we arrived. My brother called it an oasis. You can't go wrong staying here. We will certainly try to book this properyy the next time we have to be in Decatur.

Stayed Jul 19, 2024The house and grounds were adorable and well taken care of. We appreciated the breakfast supplies. I was a little worried not hearing from the host until the night before on check in and out procedures, but that may be standard. Overall it was a great experience.
