Ocean View, Hawaii
Fully furnished with queen beds, refrigerator, and essentials. It's glamping with the comforts of home including tv, wifi, bbq grill, and microwave. Located on the Big Island of Hawaii between Hilo and Kailua Kona. Located approximately 3500 ft elevation on the slopes of Mauna Loa overlooking the southern most tip of Hawaii, the last pristine coastline in Hawaii. The mornings are sunny and overcast afternoons but beautiful starry nights.
Aloha from Lisa and Kai of hawaiianjourneys.
If you wanna be away from the city, this place is for you, the yurts, was nice, clean, very comfortable, perfect for couples, the bed was soft an comfy, the bathroom was interesting. It's was colder in this part of the aisland with winds when we were there, but is part of the weather, we enjoyed our staying very much, will recommend the experience is great. Is like a luxurious camping. Host is nice.
Nice place.
We were looking for a different Big Island experience (not a resort) and we got it here! Quiet, peaceful, and beautiful. The neighborhood is a drive from the beaches with some riff raff intermingled amongst the neighbors, but overall well worth the price! Owners Lisa and Kai were very helpful and available for all our questions and needs.
My stay was incredibly cozy, it was almost impossible to get out to visit the island ;) Check-in was quick, but personnalized, with great tips on the must-sees of the area. Host is super responsive on the app, which is great for people without US phone service ?♀️ Highly recommend!
Although the remote location requires additional preparation, all well worth it. Affordability was whay made the amazing short weekend trip possible. Thanks to Lisa and Kai for making us so comfortable and well provided for.
Rented the yurt to be close to the Volcano. Never had stayed in one before. It was great! Everything you need! Clean, comfortable, bed is comfortable, stars at night are beautiful!! Host was great! Good food and groceries right down the road if you dont want to cook. If Pele fires back up I will be back to stay!!
First time in a yurt and hope it’s not my last if they’re all like this! Hosts were attentive and thorough. Place was spotless with lots of amenities for what it is. Would definitely stay again.
Clean, extremely quiet, and peaceful
Very clean and cozy provate stay that's inexpensive compared to other places on the Big Island. Would definitely recommend.
The yurt was very clean, bed was comfy, many things were provided, and it was in a quiet neighborhood. But there were some issues with check in and communication with the owner, and there is no ocean view. Maybe from one of the other yurts, but I’m not sure where those pictures are taken. Our unit had no functioning windows, and neither the porch nor surrounding area had a view of the ocean.
Enjoyed our stay.
We enjoyed our short stay in this place. Cute, cozy, and comfortable. Hosts were excellent: friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Would definitely come back if we have the opportunity!
Comfortable stay, really cool stars. An hour away from Kona and an hour to the Volcanoes. Kai was always responsive and the location is pretty quiet and out of the way. I would stay again Mahalo
Perfect place to stay, since Ocean View has limited resources the yurt was ideal for our situation we will stay here again its clean and comfortable never saw the hosts again after check in which is wonderful!!!! unlike other places we've stayed ,yes a ?up. Thanks Darren n Angie
We very much enjoyed our stay. We were especially grateful the host was willing to stay up and let us in when we arrived very late in the evening. It's a very comfortable place, especially if you want to experience some glamping.
A unique space and experience being off grid but all the comforts of civilization The host was wonderful, if you're looking to experience rural Hawaii options, this is a great experience.
This is a lovely yurt up high on the southwestern flank of Mauna Loa. Deep in the Ocean View subdivision, surrounded by rugged lava landscape, with a view of the ocean, it is a short drive to a few grocery stores, gas stations, and restaurants, but it is not really near any town. The property is well-maintained, and there are chickens and at least one cat who roam around the property. The unit includes a barbecue for grilling, and ample parking. The owners/managers are very helpful and will coach guests on how to use the environmentally friendly toilet situation. The TV works and has access to many streaming platforms, and there are a few board games for rainy evenings. The site is close to South Point, that great little bakery in Na'alehu, and several black sand beaches, which may have turtles. The weather cools off at night because of the elevation and wind, but there are more than enough blankets to stay comfortable. It was a fantastic place to stay at an affordable price, and I would recommend to others wholeheartedly.
It was lovely and spacious! It was a peaceful setting and quiet at night. The local pub and coffee shop have yummy food! The special toilet wasn’t an issue: smells like candles. ☺️ We caught a bit of the rainy season so unfortunately didn’t get to see the sunset from the porch but the night sky was AMAZING!!! Would definitely stay there again and recommend it to anyone as it’s good value!
Really great place to stay. Good location to get around Island with central location.
We enjoyed everything about this Vrbo except that it was in a neighborhood. Dogs barking etc. nothing they can help. Kai and Lisa were great to communicate with. I’d suggest seeing the green sand beach while here!
We are very satisfied to stay this property. It is very clean . Thank you !!!
We were very happy to see the yurt looking so cute and inviting having everything we needed A new experance with the potty’s but everything worked great The flower beds were beautiful The bed was very comfortable We will definitely recommend your place to any who asks where to stay in Ocean View
Ocean View is a beautiful, quiet and fairly remote place. The yurt was very comfortable and well equipped. It also was a great location for exploring South Point and other hiking. I only wish we had more time here.
