Grab your morning hot beverage from the coffee and tea bar with pod-style coffeemaker – plus pods, electric tea pot, and coffee/tea supplies. You’ll find several sweet spots to sit and sip your beverage – breakfast bar, side porch with seating and coffee table, glider – also with coffee table – or bistro table for two on the front porch, where you can sit and watch the world go by.

Dine at the kitchen table for two, supplemented by barstools on both sides of the pass-through window.

Play cornhole in the fenced backyard, where kiddos and doggos will enjoy romping. In the evening, laugh, tell stories, and make memories around the firepit with Adirondack chairs.

After a full day of biking or hiking on the nearby Greenbrier Trail, exploring everything the Marlinton area has to offer, or just hanging out and relaxing at Greenbrier Getaway, head for a restful night’s sleep in your choice of two bedrooms.

This was our 2nd stay here, for a week with our mini golden doodle, and we all enjoyed every minute. Quiet neighborhood. Super convenient to the rail trail. We saw a mama bear and baby cub along the trail, as well as a young adult bear on the other bank of the river, several coyotes and Bald Eagles. Loved Beartown Rocks SP, and hikes off the Highland Scenic Hwy. We ventured out to the New River Gorge Bridge, Babcock SP which is beautiful and to Summersville lake. So much beauty and nature. We also met Patty, the owner, who is a great host. Can't wait to come back! Dirt bean has the best food in town, love their mahi tacos, and Dari Land has yummy smash burgers. We ride a lot of rail trails and The Greenbrier Rail Trail is one of our all time favorites. Thanks again Patty, it was great getting to know you!

We had a wonderful stay in at the Greenbriar Getaway. We found the house to be quite comfortable and was the perfect location for exploring the Pocahontas County parks. After hiking and walking all day, we thoroughly enjoyed being able to get back to the Getaway to crash and recharge for the next day. The house had everything that we needed, the WiFi was great, and the bed was perfect!

I stayed at this cute property with my two sons and it was perfect for us. The house is beautifully decorated, very clean and the location is walking distance to restaurants, the river and the Greenbrier River Trail. We were lucky that it rained one of the days and I loved sitting on the porch with a hot cup of tea listening to the rain. The owner was very responsive and check-in was a breeze - all online. We will definitely stay here again and look forward to returning! Thanks Patricia!

We recently stayed at this house in Marlinton for a week, while bicycling and exploring the Greenbrier River Trail. Marlinton is about midway along the trail, making access to all parts of the trail easier. The house has been completely upgraded from its original role as a home to a family, probably connected to the logging or mining activities of a century ago. Doors, windows, floors, walls, ceilings, etc have all been replaced, along with all the appliances, so that the house feels very modern and comfortable. The host has fitted individual heat pumps for each room, so that guests in each of the two bedrooms and in the main greatroom can choose their temperature levels. The house is not large (perhaps 900 square feet) so it would be ideal for a family with a couple of kids. It advertises itself as pet-friendly, but we did not detect any ‘pet odors’ so the cleaning is apparently thorough. The doors are equipped with cipher locks, so no fumbling for keys. There is a small front porch, a larger side porch (where we stored our bikes) and a fenced backyard with chairs and a firepit. The house faces the trail, but in front of that is the supply yard for the local farmer’s co-op, so your view is of propane tanks nesting below the mountain. Our host left us a bowl of snacks to munch on while we oriented ourselves after arriving. Much appreciated. She also responded quickly to our questions and requests.

From beginning to end, my husband and I, as well as our goldendoodle, Fig, had a wonderful experience at Patricia's cottage. It is perfectly situated right on the Greenbrier river rail trail, midway along the trail, which is why we chose it. The cottage is adorable. The beds were all very comfortable and the home is well equipped with everything we needed. We also enjoyed early morning walks on the trail as well as hiking at Watoga SP and up at the Cranberry Glades. We had never been to Marlinton before so it was fun exploring this cute little town along the river and enjoyed really great food at Alfredo's, Dean's Den and Dirtbean. We totally enjoyed our stay and can't wait to come back.
