Spicer, Minnesota
This lake home sits on Green Lake in Central Minnesota. A paved 12 mile road with a bike trail circles the lake. Enjoy boating, swimming, fishing, canoing, kayaking, paddle boarding and most of all, relaxing! The cottage boasts 2000 finished sq ft on a 50ft x 200ft lot. There are large decks both in front and back of the cottage, room for yard games, and a sandy/level lakefront perfect for young children.
The property has two outdoor areas: a large granite table, serving bar and pizza oven next to the lake. The deck on the lakeside has a sofa, 2 love seats, 2 chairs and gas fire place. I love using both of those areas for entertaining.
When you fish from the dock you can catch bluegill, perch and bass. The lake also has a great supply of bass, walleye and northern pike.
Local amenities include: Sibley State Park; Willmar; Little Crow Ski Team and the Little Theater.
Green Lake has a lakeside restaurant and additional restaurants in Spicer. A full grocery store, small movie theater, and many other attractions are in Spicer.
The property was initially part of a small resort and shares a driveway and walkway with a small cabin next door. The owners may occasionally use this property when they check the bees they keep on the property. The two places are about 15 feet apart.
The cabin has a ring doorbell.

The property is beautiful, on Green Lake and close to town. Lots of different areas to sit , visit and relax. The beach has a sandy bottom, and is shallow. The kitchen is well outfitted. Beds are comfortable, plenty of nice linens and towels. The host was very responsive. My family had a wonderful time here!
We spent over two weeks at the property. As stated in my review title, the sandbar off the dock steps is very nice. It's great for kids and adults. For the price we expected as much. What we didn't expect, and which was not stated in the VRBO description of the property, was the continuous presence of the owners in guest cottage less than 50 ft from the property! We had very odd encounters with one member of the family, who thought nothing of shouting through the screen door at 830 pm, muttering annoyedly about why the door was locked?!, and asking for his fishing poles inside the house. It became apparent that the family was renting out the main house due to financial difficulties. They made comments to us about how cramped they were feeling in their tiny cabin without air conditioning. It was very uncomfortable! Their presence for the entire two+ weeks of our stay was not disclosed before we arrived. Once there, what were we to say? Before renting, I would check with the owner to see if they will be staying on site. Everyone in my party, along with guests, found the setup extremely awkward. We would not return under these circumstances.
home was beautiful, so many perks, very charming. Anything you would forget , was there. from the roasting forks, crock pots, dishes, tons of towels, pillows, quilts, plenty of lounge chairs and seating by the fire and dock. The pictures and history of the lake area on the walls and in books were amazing. The lake front was right there when you walked out on deck. The swimming area was great, couldn't ever ask for anything better, all sand and very shallow for our grandchildren, ages 2 to 5 loved it, they furnished a launch pad-raft for the kids. Kids loved it. Maria was very helpful and friendly, great family to rent from!
