Region: From the lush green farmlands of the Borders to the ruggedness of the Highlands, the Scots are proud of their land and identity. Scotland also has some of Britain’s best beaches with glorious stretches of clean sand over which to roam.

Town: The Capital of the Highlands, the city of Inverness, is the gateway to the countless delights of the Highlands of Scotland. Towering mountains, dark lochs, great forests and precipitous sea cliffs are all within easy reach. Of particular note is the legendary Loch Ness, which is surrounded by some truly breathtaking scenery, although most visitors are usually on the lookout for something a bit more mysterious! Just outside the city is the Culloden Battlefield at Culloden Moor (National Trust). The site of the last major battle fought on British soil, there is an award-winning display depicting the battle, whilst a walk on the field serves as a poignant reminder of the clansmen who lost their lives. Inverness itself has much to offer, museums, an art gallery, fine theatre and leisure facilities, not to mention shops, pubs and restaurants. The River Ness flows through the city and both the river and neighbouring Moray Firth are home to a diverse range of wildlife and marine life including red kites, along with dolphins, which can sometimes be seen from the shore, or on trips from the harbour.

Location was perfect for our needs. Everything we needed was close by and we walked to restaurants and store . Flat was very nice and clean for our family of 4. Check in was super easy. Washing machine was a huge bonus. Fully functioning kitchen worked great. Plenty of space so we did not feel on top of each other. Highly recommend. Hope to be back someday.

We used this home as our base for visiting areas around Inverness such as the Isle of Skye, Loch Ness, etc. and it was a perfect location for doing so. Although it is on the other side of the river from Church Street where all the action is, the pedestrian bridge over the river makes it only a short walk to get to Church Street. Also, the location has multiple nice pubs, restaurants, grocery stores, and bakeries nearby on that side of the river so we only went across when we wanted to venture over. The backyard was a nice place to enjoy the nice weather and the home, although older, has a lot of character to it and is very clean. We really enjoyed our stay here.
