This place was perfect for a quiet weekend away!!! Plan to come back!
Nice location on Lake Huron. Had everything we needed plus a great view.
Pros: great location, just north of Lexington and sound of Sanilac. There are 7 cabins and everyone was friendly. Although no beach access (you look down over the lake), there is a viewing area with chairs, etc. The owners are attentive before, during and after our stay. It is priced very reasonably. Cons: There were carpenter ants in the cabin. Two were in our bed, and it creeped me out. Apparently, they spray on a regular basis, however, when we were there, they had just sprayed outside, possibly that made the ants come inside. Our cabin, number 7, was exceedingly small. There was barely two inches between the toilet and wall. It is advertised for sleeping 4, but there are only two chairs at the bistro-type kitchen table because nothing more could fit. Overall, we had a great time going to the beach and Lexington. We spoke with our neighbors and they seemed very content with their stay. I have mentioned things here that I would want to know before making a reservation.
Our cabin was very close to the main road. We didn’t like the constant noise. Also, the stairs down to the water were challenging. We decided to go to another beach to have a beach day.
Cozy cabin on Lake Huron. Check in/out was easy and the place was clean. I wished it wasn’t so close to the main road but that’s unavoidable in the area if you want to be on the water.
We enjoyed our stay and location overall. We would come again.
This was the perfect little cottage for a weekend getaway.
Very cute little cottages. Nicely kept. Was able to take out 2 Labradors. Was disappointed when the there wasn't a beach for the dogs to go down to and get in and swim, but the owner was great at finding out places for us to take them.
It was a nice overdue get away with my family. Spent a day at Lakeport State Park swimming and rock-hounding. The Wipp Inn property has wonderful morning views of Lake Huron that pair marvelously with a cup of coffee. The Barn Swallows will dazzle you in the am with their unique, acrobatic, circular, aerial flocking pattern and live in the sand nests right next to the lower deck on adjacent property. The steps could be tricky for an elderly person but I personally didn't mind the butt and leg work out. The property does shade quickly by mid day so the am was a great time for solace and watching barges, sailboats go by. The Garden cottage is older and does have some quirky electrical issues that I figured out fairly quickly as running the space heater on certain outlets trip the breaker and cause electricity to go out. If I was cooking bacon it was best to take fire alarm down and open the windows or it would go off. I am sure they probably at some point need electrical re-worked but the owners were great and had it all back up and running fairly quickly. The owner was nice and gave us some restaurant suggestions and let us check out late. The Windjammer at the marina ran out of food by 6pm and closed early ( I don't think they expected a big crowd for Memorial Day weekend ) Cadillac House Inn had 2 hour wait so we just hit the local tavern in town that had live music which suited us just fine. Rode my bike in AM down Townsend road and found small airport.
Place was awesome; very friendly people. Planning on going back real soon.
Great long weekend get away. Everyone was so accommodating and helpful during the weekend making sure our stay was the best. Thank you for the much needed trip!
The location of this home was perfect! The lake is right outside with a cool walkway down to get even closer. The house was so cozy and cute!
It is a nice place to leave the city behind!!!!
Quiet with the exception of traffic noise. Did not realize in listing that the cottage was the closest to the road. Would definitely return but to a cottage closer to the water and away from the road.
Would use them again!
Everything was good
The view from the deck was wonderful
We had everything we needed and then some! All of the kitchen utensils were supplied, linens, towels, etc. The parking spots are a bit tight, but that was made aware of well before coming. Thank you for being pet friendly as well!
Great time , peaceful and inviting . Great having a bonfire with neighboring in other cottages
Clean, cute little cottage, just right for 2 people. Only issue was lots of road noise 24/7 very near cottage. We enjoyed our stay very much and would recommend it. Owner was on-site and everything went smoothly. Thanks!
Great view of Lake Huron, nice shaded areas with beautiful trees! If you want a beach Lexington and Port Sanilac short drive to each, within 5 miles.
We had a great time. It was nice to just sit around and enjoy everything (ie scenary, lake, etc). The view is great especially if you are up early and enjoy watching the sun rise.
Our cottage was close to a main road. The road noise was loud. Parking was also right in front of our cottage so in addition to the road noise and lights we had lights from people parking their cars in front of our building. The toilet leaked or just condensation from the toilet tank. The dishes weren't very clean and we found mouse droppings in one of the kitchen drawers. Likely will not stay there again.
We needed to get away from work for a couple days. Our visit hit the mark. A warm welcome and a comfy cabin was a great start. Once the weather cleared up, we explored the area and ended the day around the fire pit. A great place to unwind!
Clean and cozy cottage, well kept up interior and grounds. Beautiful view of Lake Huron on the deck. The only small issue was the shower was tricky to manage for my 6 ft + partner. Got used to the highway sound after awhile. Enjoyed nearby parks.
Nice cabin for the price, just wish the water was more accessible, there were some very steep stairs to get to the water. But the views were amazing from up top!
The cabin had everything you need to relax by the water. Everything in the cabin is nice. Nothing luxurious, but not run down and gross either. Our cabin had a bit of a bug problem. Ladybugs/ants, but the cabin wasn't filthy or anything. Just had some bugs inside. My wife and I were not fans of the communual nature of the outdoor activities, like grilling and bon fires, but we don't hold that against the cabins themselves. Would stay again and recommend it to others if given the chance.
