Fire Pit & Community Perks: Blakeslee Cottage!

Mixed experience. The cottage is cute and overall well maintained. Some recent remodeling. Good communication from the owner and property manager. Second day of our stay the temperature was to be 90 degrees. Where is the air conditioner? Oh here they are laying on the floor in the closet. These are window mount air conditioners. Left phone message and email for the owner and property manager. No response a couple hours later so called Hotels.com. Thats where the nightmare starts. This property is through VRBO not Hotels.com. They wanted me to call VRBO but their automated system hangs up after 2 minutes. Ended up with a two HOUR chat conversation through hotels.com and VRBO. They would not do anything without the property owner and that person could not be found at the time. Late night finally heard from the owner who suggested I install the a/c units myself?? I understand the a/c was removed for the winter but the owner should have reinstalled it before my arrival. Ultimately we lost an entire evening fighting with hotels.com and vrbo instead of being on our vacation. We left the property early then had to fight through four additional phone calls with VRBO to get a refund for the unused night. This is not a bad place and the owner is not a bad person but if you are looking for a hotel level of service these hotels.com to vrbo bookings are not the place. Lost an entire day of my vacation battling with agents in India.

We had the best weekend staying at this cottage with. The cottage is very cute, comfy and clean. a major plus too is that it is pet friendly so you can bring your fur-babies with you. Also, it is well equipped with things you may need from games, kitchen items, dog bowls and leashes, towels, sheets, etc. We highly recommend this property. We will definitely be renting this cottage again.

Good location for my dog because we like to walk long distances. Place needs a good clean up from top to bottom. There was no rock salt available.

Everything from check in to check out was excellent. The home was nice, perfect for our family. Dog friendly which is a must for us! Rooms were just right, everything was as described! Nice deck to hang out and cook dinner on the grill at night. Also watching the wildlife around the home as we had deer almost every day! We fully enjoyed the cool nights in the middle of the summer! Kitchen size worked well for a week trip, plenty of room in the refrigerator. Rest of appliances looked pretty new and all worked well! Internet was TMobile cellular and worked. Bedrooms were just right. Very happy with our stay.

The blankets need to be washed. it was dogs hair in the sheets, the bathroom was dirty when we got there. The distes was dirty and the lights was flickering.

Grat location, especially if you are there for Pocono race track. Nice little house in great area with an access to the lake. Another great attraction that it's only 30 min away from Jim Thorpe.

Place is in a nice area and was nice for the weekend. Dishes were dirty from last guests and grill needs some maintenance - seemed like a fire hazard.

We were there for the NASCAR race at Pocono Speedway. Location was perfect. Neighborhood was great. Check-in/Check-out went very smoothly.

The property is in a wonderful locations, with lots of outdoor activities, gorgeous views, and wildlife. Maybe next time we go, it won't rain most of the time!

The bungalow was nice. The communication with the host was good. The bungalow could have been cleaner. There was a lot of pet hair. The grill wasn't cleaned and fire pit area was messy.

The cottage is dated. Furnishings flimsy and space is ok for no more than 2-3 people, we were 6 (2 adults, 2 teenagers and 2 kids). We noticed some insects that needed extermination and reported it to the property manager. There is also no washer or dryer in the house so no fresh towels if you need them especially after finding insects in them. Traveling with children can make this a big inconvenience as it was for us us. Unfortunately we cannot recommend the property in its current state and will not consider it for another stay in the community.

This is the second time we’ve stayed, both times for the holidays. We could comfortably accommodate the 4 adults/teens in the two bedrooms. The already plowed/shoveled driveway and salted steps/ porch was so greatly appreciated. Would definitely stay again!!

Beautiful area with a great cabin. Excellent for just relaxing or for having friends over. Cabin had all the amenities for a great stay.
