Finlandia: 3BR Avon cottage. Dog-friendly - steps from pristine beach!

Super cute house! Well stocked with essentials and some extras, and communication from the owner throughout the week to make sure everything was okay. We would definitely stay here again!

This was our first time to the outer banks and this was such a great house. It was in a great location and perfect for our family. It is very well equipped and nicely renovated.

We had an absolutely fantastic 3‑week stay at the Finlandia in Avon, NC. The location couldn’t have been better — tucked away in a peaceful spot yet close enough to everything we wanted to explore - especially access to the beach . It felt like the perfect balance of privacy and convenience, with beautiful surroundings that made every day feel like a getaway.The house itself was outstanding. The amenities were truly top‑tier — from the well‑equipped kitchen to the comfortable bedrooms, thoughtful touches, and all the extras that made it feel like a home away from home. You can tell the owners put real care into making sure guests have everything they need for a relaxing, stress‑free stay.Communication with the owner was excellent throughout our entire visit. They were responsive, friendly, and incredibly easy to work with, which made the whole experience even better.We loved our time at Finlandia and would happily return. Highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a wonderful stay in Avon.

We couldn’t have asked for a better trip. The house was wonderful, spotless and decorated beautifully. The newly updated deck was a great place to hang out, with sufficient privacy from the surrounding trees. It was an easy two minute walk to a great, wide beach. Perfect for long walks in the offseason. The owner, Ken, was in constant communication throughout and was always willing to help with anything. Such an amazing experience. We can’t wait to return.

Great place for a small family and a dog or two! The house has a great history and is very well equipped, especially the kitchen. Short walk to the beach and a nice low traffic street to walk your pets. We will definitely be renting Finlandia again!

Great stay with our boys! Good location, quick walk down the street to the beach and the boys loved walking across the street to DQ for ice cream. If you have kids with lots of beach stuff invest in a beach cart one made for the sand! The house was beautifully decorated and had everything we needed for making meals.

Property is super nice: property is very well maintained. Well stocked. Close to grocery store and little “downtown area.” Beach is literally right down the street. The property’s location is awesome; it’s not far to go to ocracoke or drive up to nags head. It’s pet friendly so that’s a plus! Had some small issues during our stay, but the owner was very prompt in responding and communication was excellent. For our family of four, 2 indoor showers would have worked better. The outdoor shower was helpful though. Our entire family enjoyed our stay!

Cozy, comfortable stay and a great location for walking to the beach. Other amenities within close driving or walking distance. The house had most of everything we would have needed. Great stay!

Finlandia was a wonderful home for our small family. The host is on top of everything and the house was fully decked out with furnishings and home accessories. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again!

We loved our stay at Findlandia. Short walk to the beach. The owner Ken was very attentive and reached out multiple times to ensure we had everything we needed. Excellent communication. The house is very well-appointed and clean. They had new appliances and several conveniences (paper products, towels, and linens; not to mention the wonderful outdoor shower with awesome water temp and pressure. We also had access to beach chairs and boogie boards. If ever in the Outer Banks, we will definitely look to stay here again. Can’t say enough. (Even accommodated our pup) Thank you for a tremendous stay.

Great location. Comfy couches. Slept three of us very well. If you take a dog, remember that all the houses on OBX are on stilts and your dog should be comfortable with decking stairs. Be sure to practice outdoor stairs with your dog before booking anything on OBX. Great host and had a super time with my boys.Ed Stoll

We stayed at Finlandia for a week fishing and was a great experience. It was the perfect place to stay, close to everything and exceptionally clean. Great communication from the host. Just couldn't ask for anything more. Highly recommend!

Our experience was excellent. We could not have had a more responsive owner. Immediately returned calls and asked repeatedly if we needed anything. Couldn’t ask for more! Ken is the best!

My best friend (over 50 years) and I spent 3 nights at this beautiful little cottage. The location is right off Route 12 and about a short block to the beach. The beach is absolutely beautiful - wide, clean, and wonderful! Definitely will be booking again in the future.

Very clean and short walk to the beach!

Great location, close to shops and restaurants and 2 minute walk to the wide, open beautiful beach. Perfect spot for a couple or family with littles. Compact, one story once you’re on the deck keeps everyone together for easy monitoring of wee ones with back bedrooms to tuck them away during nap and bedtime. Large deck mostly private is great for morning coffee, reading, cocktails or dinner on the large picnic table. House is unique with cool history. Comfortable and clean. This was our second visit with our dog. We’d go back again.

Kitchen well stocked. Everything worked properly. We were allowed to bring our cat.

If you are considering staying at Finlandia, definitely book your stay. My husband and I stay for a few days here and it was better then we both imagined. Even though it was just the 2 of us with our dog it has enough space a family with kids. The owner made us feel very welcomed and was very easy to contact. We'll definitely be returning to Finlandia in the future!

We were on the Outer Banks as a family with 2 dogs to spend a few relaxing days on the beach. The house is perfectly located for this, less than 5 minutes walk to the beach. Dogs were also allowed on the beach and you could go for a nice walk. Shopping facilities are also nearby and the house offers enough space. We particularly enjoyed sitting outside on the deck.

The first thing you’ll notice about this property is that the owner provides FIVE STAR service! You can tell he really loves this property and put so much love into the details. He really cares about his guests as well. He is so welcoming and makes check-in easy peasy! We had a cute little gift basket waiting for us when we walked in the door. This home is absolutely spotless! The beds, pillows, and furniture were all comfortable. It’s really a home away from home. I hope you enjoy this home as much as we did!

Property was very clean, stocked with all the essentials and gave you the beach vibe. Short walk to a big, uncrowded beach. Would definitely recommend if looking for a place on the south side of OBX.

This little cottage was perfect for our family and our sweet dog Millie. The homeowner was very quick to respond and was kind enough to check in during our stay via text. The cottage was very clean. We really enjoyed our stay!

We had an amazing time at Finlandia. Communication with the owner was great. The house is well appointed, clean and quite nice. The beds were comfortable, as was the entire property. Nice big deck for stargazing. The new electric griddle outside was very nice as well. It’s a short walk to a nice beach access with just a short walk over the dunes. Convenient to shops, restaurants and ice cream! We highly recommend Sunrise seafood market and Gidget’s pizza, as well as the Haulover day use area just south of town for a great sunset. We will definitely look to stay here again in the near future. Thank you for sharing Findlandia with us!

Finlandia was a fantastic beach retreat - a short walk to the beach, beautiful house with full amenities, and quick access to all that OBX has to offer. Great communication from the host and easy access check-in.
