Fare Matairoa, meaning the long wind, is the ideal local beach cottage for a small family getaway or a couple's retreat. It is very simple and straightforward to use. The beachfront is very private. More secluded from the touristy beach of Haapiti, not many people have access to the beach of Varari. You will enjoy some very private and exclusive beach access. Additionally, the house is practically facing the sunset. Each nightfall you'll get to enjoy nature's multicolored show.
At Fare Matairoa you'll find comfort, cleanliness (we use a professional cleaning team), privacy and a gorgeous beach to top it all off. Basically, you will get a quintessential Mo'orea island living experience.

SLEEPING
Fare Matairoa has 2 bedrooms, one spacious master bedroom and one guest bedroom (a bit smaller). Both bedrooms have A/C and closet space to make you feel right at home. Both beds are queen size and the mattresses are brand new. The bedrooms have recently been remodeled to create a local-chic vibe. The windows offer lots of sunlight and make the bedrooms very comfortable and cozy.

KITCHEN/DINING
The kitchen is fully-equipped for easy cooking. You'll be able to cook your own meals easily or eat out at near-by local restaurants. The dining table has been set on the terrace therefore you can enjoy each meal with a gorgeous lagoon view every time and sip on some afternoon cocktails during the sunset.

LIVING ROOM
The living room has a big sofa that can fit all 4 guests at the same time. The smart TV has Netflix whenever you'll like enjoying some down time after a day of exploring or when it's (rarely) raining.

AMENITIES
Fare Matairoa has 2 kayaks, 4 sun chairs, 1 barbecue and an outdoor shower. It has everything you need to make you want to stay there all day.

Note: Guests benefit from a 10% discount for stays of 7 days and more.

The highlights:
- The beachfront: gorgeous white sand beach and turquoise lagoon
- The sunset
- The location: near numerous shops and restaurants
- The A/C in the bedrooms
- The numerous leisure accessories (kayaks and sun chairs)
- The dining table on the terrace in front of the ocean
- Quality linens and mattresses

## Neighborhood

Ha'apiti is a popular neighbordhood because of the long white sand beaches and the access to the motus (islets) in the middle of the lagoon. There are lots of restaurants, local shops and activities near the house (less than a 5minute drive).

## Transit

Fare Matairoa is located in Varari which is about a 35minute drive from the ferry docks from one side of the island or the other.
We strongly recommend renting a motor vehicle to get around. We have partnerships with local vendors that you can benefit from so please ask us about it.

Ask us about activities and tours and we will provide you with the best and curated recommendations.

The house has a beautiful backyard but the house itself is not anything special. We loved watching sunset over the water and waking up there as it was very peaceful. The kayaks are nice to have as we saw multiple spotted eagle rays in the water right behind the house. As the other reviews stated the bathroom could definitely use some work. And it wouldn’t be the best place to stay if you were stuck with really bad weather because the best part of the property is outside. The check in process was also interesting and I feel like could be updated a little bit to be easier on guests but the woman that greeted us was very nice.

The view and front patio is the selling point. We made use of the kayaks and paddle boards almost daily! The different shades of blues is absolutely stunning! There are some little updating. The grout in the kitchen is coming off and the toliet seat leans to the right. But overall it was such a amazing experience. They have spices that you may need and all cutlery and plates. We went with our 2 little ones and they were so happy playing outside. We will absolutely come back if we have the chance!

We stayed in this home as two couples. We chose the home because of its location on Moorea, the ocean front view is breathtaking. Truly, I’ve never seen the ocean and sky meet so seamlessly anywhere in the world. It seemed to jump into the home. The windows and back deck were out of this world! We also chose this home because it has two very comfortable King sized beds and AC. We slept so good! The yard is very private and overall this is a wonderful place! You will share one kind of old bathroom with not a lot of privacy and not a lot of hot water, so just be aware of that. But everything else made up for that. Even the large couch in the family room was very comfortable!

Amazing. Hard to put into words how wonderful our four days at this Beachside house was. Everyone we spoke to at OPM was efficient, prompt, kind and informative. All of their suggestions for activities were spot on. Our stay here will be etched on our minds forever. We made a lot of wonderful memories.

We arrived to a place that we have heard about all of our lives with high expectations, and we were blown away by the fact that it exceeded those expectations. Close to a market with amazing bread and pastries. Amazing sunsets. The concierge, Caroline, facilitated all of our needs and had answers to our many questions. Ranitea and Jade were also very informative, helpful, friendly and prompt. We will stay here again! Most relaxing vacation ever!

We were looking for a stand alone house in a quiet area close to the ocean. This one rings all of the bells. The next door neighbour (the owner) was helpful not intrusive. He lent me a machete and gave me free access to the coconut trees so we always had coconut water in the fridge he also lent us a rake so we could rake the beach each morning. There were occasionally people on the vacant lot on the other side who were staying in houses behind ours. Those houses were at least a hundred yards away and we never heard a sound from them. We made use of the Kayaks that were provided at no charge. We loved the covered deck, which kept us from being burnt, the quiet sea and the sunsets every night. The Salva Store just over the road supplied flesh Croissants every morning; fresh Tuna comes in on Tuesday and Thursday, oh so good on the BBQ and cheap! If you want to get away from the crowds and enjoy a quiet time in Paradise this is the house for you! Only drawback was the kitchen.
