Eastpoint, Florida
This home sits on north side of road, high on the bluff overlooking St. George Sound with your own private bayfront property on south side with a large grassy area. The property has shallow water for about 400-500 feet out. Our cottage also backs up the National Forest. We have an enclosed deck to relax and grab some sun! St. George Island and the small towns of Carrabelle, Eastpoint, and Apalachicola are just minutes away and offer good seafood restaurants, grocery stores, small shops, and fresh seafood markets.
This is a 2 bedroom cottage with a queen size bed in one bedroom and the other has a trundle bed (two twins). The rates are for a week. We try to rent Saturday to Saturday or Sunday to Sunday. Please contact owner if you would like a rate for anything less that 7 nights.
If renting in July-August be sure to ask about scalloping for individual consumption. Bring your snorkel gear.
If you are a golfer, the St. James Bay Golf Course is only about 20 minutes away. It is a world class golf course and the areas only Audubon Signature Sanctuary.
Wildlife and marinelife are plentiful. We are also one of Florida's great fishing areas. Whether its fresh water, bay and flats fishing, or off-shore, a day on the water is usually a successful day. Guests can catch a variety of species of fish including redfish, speckled trout, flounder, spanish mackeral and so much more right out in front of the house. However, if you would like a guide to take you out, there are numerous great captains in Carrabelle and Apalachicola. There are also boats and sailboats available to rent if you want to have your own journey. We have several docks on the New River in Carrabelle that can also be used for your convenience and pleasure. The New River is very beautiful and quiet and makes a great place to relax and enjoy the wildlife.
Our cottage is just outside of the town of Eastpoint. The Eastpoint waterfront is filled with small seafood houses. Lots of oyster boats and shrimp boats line the waterfront. The seafood markets offer fresh shrimp, fish (grouper, snapper, flounder, mullet), oysters, scallops, blue crab, and more.
You'll find plenty of restaurants, groceries, seafood markets, antique and souvenir shops,, entertainment, and, ofcourse, plenty of boat captains right there among Carrabelle's many small marinas. If you didn't bring your boat, and don't care to hire a captain, remember you can rent your own boat, kayak, canoe, etc. Plenty of bait and tackle shops available as well. Be sure to stop by Millender's Seafood. Lots of fresh seafood, and Dale makes the best smoked fish dip and crab cakes you have ever tasted. The white sands of Carrabelle Beach are just a mile away. You can walk for miles on the white sand beach, and bring a picnic with you, as they have a wonderful covered area for picnicking. Or, 20 minutes further are the beautiful beaches and state park of St. George Island, or the historical homes and businesses of Apalachicola. It's a bustling little town full of great restaurants, antique and unique shops, and art galleries along the waters edge. Beautiful old homes and lots of history. Remember to visit the Florida Estuary and Research Center in Eastpoint. There you will find all the marine life, shells, and artifacts indigenous to our area. Another trip you shouldn't miss is Wakulla Springs State Park just 30-35 minutes from Carrabelle. This is probably the largest springs in the country. 7 mile of the Wakulla River is closed off to any traffic. Only the boats guided by your park ranger can take you for an hour's unforgettable trip up the beautiful Wakulla. Crystal clear springs with lots of fish, gators, turtles, birds, and most of the time, even manatees Up Close!!!!' It's the old Florida with beautiful fauna you'll never forget. And best of all, the whole family can cruise. It's very affordable (less than $10 for adults) and every seat on the boat is great. Take lots of pictures. Be sure to bring your bathing suit and go for a swim after your trip
One other thing to enjoy are our four lighthouses. Carrabelle, Shell Point, St. George, and the Cape. There are so many things to do in our area. Just hiking or biking our many State and National Forests, Parks, and Estuaries is a wonderful thing to do.

The property was in transition, so there were a few minor glitches- porvh light was burned out, light in the laundry room was out and there was no garbage bin. These were easily remedied except for rhe laundry room light which I never reported. We loved the little cottage and sitting on the deck looking at the stars.
Really enjoyed spending time with family and fishing ? so close to the Gulf. Our manager was very friendly and helpful in guiding us to help us find good fishing places.
Really cute cottage. Clean, comfortable and affordable. Convenient location and just across a two lane road is a small beach. Large fenced area around the cottage. We had a good time ?
Deck has issues boards rotten, photos misleading, bring your own toilet paper very skimpy on essentials had to buy toilet paper and garbage can liners! (No working fire alarms, gfci in bath not working, leak under sink reported to property manager said he would fix never showed.! location is great however just don’t expect much like a hunting camp! Good for pets fenced in yard! Did have comfortable bed and air conditioning worked great. However Wi-Fi never worked! Didn’t matter used phone!
Property is as advertised. We enjoyed the charm of the cottage and access to the bay. As stated it’s rustic, but has such great access to the bay and is very affordable. We would stay again.
Nice location with the bay just across the street. Not too far from Carabelle or St. George Island, or Eastpoint. Online communication with host was not the best but better communication through text. The place has the basics. I would suggest like previous reviews to bring water to drink. The kitchen sink has a filter but itnis extremely slow. The place was not very clean. We had to kill a few roaches and they ate into our apples we had on a bowl in the kitchen. Also, previous guest's shirt was left stuffed in the couch and cobwebs under the bed. Stay was not too comfortable because we just felt dirty...ended up leaving 3 nights early despite paying for 7. Internet is through a Hotspot and the data limit was reached after our first day...so then internet gets extremely slow to not at all..we ended up using our data. Nice that you can bring a pet and that it has a fenced in yard and a water hose just outside the back side fence to wash off your water toys.
Being honest…if you want more like a hunting camp experience this is for you. Very secluded, quiet and peaceful. If you want a more resort feeling NOT the place for you! The cottage was very cute but needs a little TLC on the plumbing and cleanliness. The fishing was excellent and everyone was so nice and friendly that I would actually stay there again and look passed the flaws
The property is in a great location. the fenced yard is great for dogs. We even stayed an extra night. It is a bit rustic. The water is less than desireable. TV is Dish with streaming. We used our netflix.
The property was in a perfect location! We enjoyed our stay and look forward to going back. The beach access was perfect.
Great location for our needs. House was very clean. Fenced yard was great for our puppies. Beaches, restaurants, grocery stores close by. Owner was on top of things and pleasant to work with. Overall, great place to vacation and we would stay here again!
