montague, Michigan
Welcome to your Lake Michigan family getaway, complete with spectacular sunsets and gorgeous beaches. Enjoy long beach walks, dune hiking, the many breweries, art galleries and the Book Nook in Montague, a day at nearby Michigan Adventure, or just relax on your expansive deck, then relax some more on the beach. The house sits high on a dune across the street from the beach for an exceptional view. Drive right up to the house; ideal for those with limited mobility. The cottage has 3 spacious bedrooms and 2 full baths; 1 bedroom and bath on main floor. If you absolutely need to work we have high speed internet and a desk area with a view. Kitchen is fully stocked and a gas grill is available. There are multiple beach access points nearby including Meinert Park and association beaches. Beach towels and chairs are available. Two window air conditioner units installed.
Minimum stay of 7 days from Memorial Day to Labor Day weekends, Saturday to Saturday. Minimum 3 night stay prior to Memorial Day or after Labor Day.
No pets allowed due to association rules.
We rented the house for a golf trip to the West Side of the state. The place fit our needs perfectly. It was really nice to sit out on the front deck and relax after golfing and enjoying the fantastic views.
Wonderful hosts! A tree fell on our original VRBO and they could not have been more accommodating in helping with a last-minute rental for my extended family. I came in from NY with my two teen daughters and my parents. The cottage is welcoming and beachy, up above street level so it has a beautiful lake view and soft breeze from the large deck. It is all VERY clean, and the kitchen and laundry are complete and ready for use. The owners have installed new a/c units in both the living room and front bedroom to help with the warm evening sun. The warmest room is the back bedroom, but my teens were perfectly happy to just run the box fan. There are many places to sleep and all of the beds were well-made and comfortable. We were able to use both beach access points with ease depending which family members were going to the water. The beaches are private to the Association and therefore not very busy! The driveway is steep, but on the days my mom was going to the beach we just drove her down the driveway and used the beach access that has about 20 stairs. There are plenty of games and a smart tv available but, who am I kidding, we were there for the soft sand and Big Lake. Thanks to these Michael and Ivana for creating a beautiful home away from home for my family!
We loved our week in Montague. The property has a great location with an easy walk to the beach. The sand is soft and the beach is very clean. The views from the house are amazing. The house was very well kept and clean. A generous amount of towels including beach towels were provided, which we appreciated. Can't wait to be back!
The view from the deck is amazing. Great cozy cottage with quick access to two beaches.
Our stay was great. Home is very clean and the deck is expansive. Pictures really do not do it justice! When we walked in the home it sorta took our breath away...it was very bright, clean and open with incredible views from all the windows. Its nestled away and right on Lake Mi. Enjoy beautiful sunsets right from the deck. The beach is just a small walk down the driveway and a few houses away. It is a steep driveway, because you're tuck into a bluff but it isnt a bad walk and it took no time at all to walk there. Also loved that you cam drive right up to the house, as not all the homes there have that option. No stars to hike up which makes it more desirable to me. The house had everything we needed. We were able to log into our own accounts to stream TV shows and movies. Sometimes cell service was spotty. There are some books and games there too. Owner made herself available right away and was very responsive. Loved the location. The town Montague was cute, not a ton of shopping like other beach towns but had things you need and some dining options. Recommend The Book Nook, The soda fountain, Papa's Pizza and Peckadills. Within 30 mins either way gets you to other ideal destinations to visit too: Pentwater, Silver Lake, Muskegon. Would definitely recommend and would look forward to staying again!
We had a great experience and really enjoyed our stay. A great view of Lake Michigan and quick access to the beach/dunes. A very relaxing vacation. My wife and kids did not want to leave!
The house is very nice and is located at the end of a deadend street. Gorgeous views of Lake Michigan and close, easy beach access. Plenty of things to do within 30 minutes. Good wifi. Nice neighbors. Would definitely stay here again.
Pictures don’t come close to how beautiful the view and property is. Very clean nice house with a gorgeous view. Will be back for sure. Thank you!
Property is as advertised and better. House was very clean, neighborhood is quiet, and hosts were very nice and easy to work with.
The house was nice, very clean and exactly as advertised. The view was phenomenal and loved that we could use the neighborhood private beach. It is a bit far to the nearest town, but the drive is very pretty. Would visit again.
Our stay here was absolutely wonderful. A very private beach and just a short walk through the sandy dunes to the beach. We wouldn’t hesitate to come back to this house for our next vacation. Perfect communication by the owners and there were no surprises for us! Wonderful memories, awesome photos for us, and on the beach every day!
My family and I (5 adults & 3 kids under 10) had a great week at the property. We had a short walk to an very quiet beautiful beach. We were able to be on the beach all day and enjoy family meals at the house before returning to soak in beautiful sunsets. We took day trips to Muskegon and to Ludington as well which were very reasonable drives for our crew. Both the indoor and outdoor space fit our group well and we wouldn't hesitate to rent the space again. We have rented VRBOs homes for vacation for the last 7 summers and this ranks as one of the best!
Beautiful views of the lake. Quiet neighborhood with a gorgeous beach. Everyone in the neighborhood turns their outside lights off to view the spectacular stars. Lovely week with close friends.
My family and I enjoyed quiet time and relaxation, we celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary with our 7 year old by our side. The view from the home was spectacular also sunsets were just breathtaking.
This house is perfect for a quiet, peaceful get-away. There is a beautiful view of the lake from the deck, and a cute little fawn visited a few times in the tall bluff grasses next to the deck. Beds were comfortable, and Michael and Ivana were very friendly and made themselves available for any questions or problems. Just FYI if you're planning a stay here: The only pantry items available were salt and pepper, and you might want to bring along a box of kleenex. And just in case it makes a difference to you, the long private road leading to the house has many speed bumps, which might be a consideration if you have a sensitive person in the car. The repeated jarring of the car- even when crossing the bumps from a complete stop- was difficult for a family member who had just had major surgery. The beds were comfortable, and all the rooms nicely decorated; a very welcoming place to stay. Overall, this was a wonderful place for us.
Great beach just a short walk away with a dune you can still climb and shallow waters where you can enjoy the waves. Thank you for an amazing week away! We stopped at the Montegue Market on the way home. Next time we will go on Tuesday too. It was more than expected!
Easy and prompt communication with owners.
Very nice property with amazing sunset views.
