Great cozy cottage for a weekend stay for the wife and I. Everything we needed inside for a winter stay and great heated floors. We got to explore the area and Rockport state park and do some hiking and rock finding. Good pizza just down the road at the market recommended by the owner. Only complaint was a loss of communication right at check in – but that was resolved in about 20 minutes and we got checked in and found everything easy to manage inside the cottage.
Beautiful clean and cozy cabin on a Beautiful lake perfect for a weekend getaway - host Fred was very hospitable would definitely rent this property again
Great property with beautiful views!
Perfect vacation spot and affordable. Fred was very accommodating and helpful. We plan to go back again.
Lake living
Cozy property right on Long Lake. Fred was a great host and was able to help us with anything we needed. He gave us great recommendations for restaurants and places to go. Will definitely be back!
Nice and close to the water. Host was on site. Power went out shortly after check in but was back on within a few hours.
Nice place with a great setting. We brought a 22' boat so parking was a little tight when we showed up and left, but nothing we could not work through. The house was set up nice. There are 2 decks but the lake view is obscured by the shrubbery. So we just moved to the front yard. I fished the lake for bass and was satisfied with what a caught. There was a dock to tie the boat up which made it nice. There were external cameras, but we didn't care. Fred (host) was always around if we needed anything.
Owner met us in the house and gave a nice tour. He was nice enough to make a kayak available even though we weren’t able to make use of it
We had a wonderful 5 days at our cottage on Long Lake. Fred, our host was very gracious and was a wealth of information with suggestions on where to go to explore.
The cabin is a cozy place right on Lake Long. The inside is very homey and comfortable. The owner knew about lights out in the kitchen area (that really lit the kitchen) but said he hadn't gotten to replacing them yet. Made kitchen area very dark. We found some dated, plastic chairs near the edge of the deck in the garden/scrubs area and moved them up to the lake. No one else was out so we had the lake to ourselves at sunset. Very beautiful. Property had boating paraphernalia around property lawn. The house is difficult to find, as others have commented. Lost power the morning we were leaving. Owner told me they are on a separate, private power grid in that area of the lake. We heard a neighbor's generator start immediately. We left an hour or so later, still no electric on. (My hair was soaking wet and I needed to dry my hair with a hair dryer. Owner suggested I use a towel.) I think the property should list that they have a private electric system with no backup generator. (The day was a beautiful morning, no wind or storm. Power just went out.) Overall, our stay was what we were looking for (mostly). Quiet, relaxing, cozy place. The power outage was a bummer at the end of the trip.
No complaints!!
Jack was very accommodating. He was available and easy to reach. The location would have been difficult to find in the dark. But we made it just in time. Nice location. Close to hiking and downtown area. Would consider returning again.
Fred was very helpful and the place was clean and very cozy. Lots of thoughtful touches to make say enjoyable. Wish we could have stayed longer. Sandbar just down road had great staff and good food. Saw the Mikly way galaxy out by the lake side.
It was a little difficult to find the property via GPS & required a phone call to the property owner. The unit was dimly lit. Hard to read due to dim lighting. Host had us on the phone for 1/2 hour after arrival, mainly explaining the TV, which we repeatedly said we probably wouldn't use. Would have preferred to have any instructions in written form, which is typical for this type of rental.
Very nice and good location.
The host Fred was very helpful and thorough. It was a very quiet and peaceful visit. Just a 2 night stay, property was well maintained. Lake views from the cabin were beautiful. Hope to return next year!
It was mice
parking difficult
My wife and I came up for an anniversary get away and it was fantastic! We had a campfire every night next to the water and enjoyed the peace and quiet of the lake. By the way fish played along too! We caught multiple bass and pike. Good times had by all!
Highly recommend if looking for a family friendly space to relax. Close to town and lots of things to do in the area.
Great little cottage in a good location. The owner was extremely nice, helpful, and was able to answer any questions that I had about the property and surrounding area.
We booked our stay on a last minute trip! The location for us was perfect and the home was just as described! Fred greeted us when we arrived and check in was very easy and he gave us all the info we needed for our stay. The home was very clean and we had everything we needed. We did all of our cooking at the home except for one lunch and had everything to do so. The DNR boat launch is very close and very nice. We also made a morning trip to Rockport State park which was very close and a fun little morning trip! There are plenty of nearby stores for all your needs and be sure to set your alarm for some perfect morning sunrises! We loved our nice quiet stay and are already planning a trip back this Summer! Thanks Freddy for a great getaway!
Nice little cottage on Long Lake! All the amenities you could need and then some! The owner was very helpful and made sure we had everything we needed to get settled in. We'll be back!
Small cottage. It’s very dark inside, could use a bit better cleaning and some more lighting. Biggest issue was the exterior grounds, the lawn and yard were not well kept after, there was storage of boats and decking everywhere.
