Stayed Dec 25, 2025We needed to stay in the area over Christmas. The owners made it very special for us with lots of Christmas decorations in each room and a Christmas tree. Very beautifully and thoughtfully (variety of chargers in MANY locations) decorated. We had everything we needed and it was quiet and peaceful.

Stayed Nov 7, 2025This home was a perfect home base for our weekend in Damascus. Close to the Creeper Trail, restaurants, and shopping. Beautifully decorated. Stocked with everything you need (and more). You feel more like a house guest than a stranger passing by just renting a room. Big outdoor space for kids and/or pets to run. Quiet neighborhood. The bedrooms are on either side of the house, which gave each couple some privacy. Excellent communication. Thank you for the snacks & drawstring backpack!

Stayed Oct 26, 2025Despite the rainy weather my husband and I enjoyed our time at this cute cottage in Damascus. It is as it appears in photos, is in a quiet area and has a very comfortable couch and king sized bed in the primary bedroom. We sat outside at the fire pit our first night there using the fire wood behind the shed. We did have to search for a fire starter but found it in a back room. We appreciated the bottle of wine and basket of snacks left for us next to the coffee. :). The kitchen worked great for preparing the meals we brought with us. (Though some of the spices are expired, the salt, pepper, and sugar were all we needed.) We had a glitch with the wi-fi cutting in and out, but quick communication with Anya and the owner assured us that a re set of the router would bring it back, which it did. The owner also mentioned that they were getting a new internet provider at the end of October, so it shouldn’t be a problem for future users. Damascus is a lovely little town and has a lot to offer recreation wise. Abingdon, about 20 minutes away, also has plenty to do. We were rained out on our hiking and climbing plans and spent a day in both towns. We look forward to returning in the Spring and taking advantage of all the outdoor opportunities.

Stayed Sep 14, 2025This is a very cute little house and it suited our needs very well, however, it has areas where the flooring is un level . This may pose a problem for someone who isn’t very sturdy on their feet. Over all, the house was very clean, but all of the linens had that “sour laundry” smell. I spent the first day re washing the sheets, towels & bedspread. I do recommend staying there because it is centrally located to all kinds of fun. We would stay there again.

Stayed Aug 20, 2025It was a very nice cottage for those in the master bedroom. The room for the queen bed is up against the wall making it difficult to get in or out. The bathroom shower is very small with a very high step and no grab bars. I almost feel twice getting out and I a petite person and not heavy.

Stayed Mar 8, 2025My daughter and I stayed here for our trip to ride the Creeper Trail. It is beautifully decorated, and very well appointed. It had everything we could have asked for to make our stay very enjoyable. There was such thoughtful touches, such as games to play, an umbrella and flashlight, and so much more. We would definitely stay here again!

Stayed Sep 26, 2024The house was lovely. Had everything we needed as advertised. Unfortunately, the town of Damascus was devastated by a flood due to Hurricane Helene. We lost power about 9:40am on 9/27. Also, lost water around the same time. We had to evacuate around 5:30pm on 9/27. We apologize for not being able to wash the dishes or complete some of the other check out procedures due to the circumstances. We are devastated for the community of Damascus as they have suffered catastrophic damage in town. Luckily the house was out of harms way at the time of our departure. The town and people of Damascus are amazing and we wish them well in the recovery process. We got to speak to several locals and many of them were worried that our trip was ruined. Which obviously was of no concern to us, but speaks to the people in the area.

Stayed Sep 24, 2024Home was clean and had everything we needed and more. Really appreciated the small touches - charging ports at each bedside, snacks, wood and kindling for fire pit, even an umbrella! Conveniently located near Creeper Trail and Abingdon’s Barter Theatre. Truly a comfortable home away from home!
