Cushing Cottage at Brierfield - Nature and Seclusion near Gettysburg

Excellent stay in Cushing Cottage In Gettysburg. We stayed for4 nights in June 2026. It's situated on a small hobby farm with very friendly animals. Turkeys, rabbit's, chickens, geese, Izzy their dog and lots more. Far enough from town to be relaxing but close enough and easy to get to for touring. Our hosts were very friendly and cared about our stay. They included lots of little thing to make our stay enjoyable. We would highly rrecommend staying here and will definitely stay again if we are in the area. Thanks again Chris and Todd.

This is the perfect place to stay for a trip to Gettysburg. It's a very short drive to the city and to food choices. You are nestled away in a peaceful and tranquil setting in the countryside. This cottage is even BETTER than the pictures show. The hosts are great! And the chickens, bunnies, turkeys and Izzy (the dog) are so fun to watch and all are friendly! 100% recommend!

So relaxing to sit on the porch and watch all the farm animals even in the rain!!

We had a very enjoyable overnight in the cottage. The hosts were very friendly and very responsive to messages. The cottage is clean and well appointed. We appreciated the bottled water, cheese and crackers waiting for us. The animal-friends on the property are fun to watch. The brood of turkeys made quite a display as we were leaving. We would return if we head back to Adams County.

Great little cottage for two. Tucked away in a peaceful setting with lots of friendly animals to greet you. The hosts have thought of everything to make your stay enjoyable. Comfortable KS bed, fluffy towels, snacks, some beverages, coffee etc. Quick ride to Gettysburg. I rarely give 5star reviews. We would definitely stay here again.

Chris & Todd were fabulous hosts! Upon arriving we were greeted by all of their turkeys, chickens, ducks and bunnies which love to eat corn flakes from your hand!!! They left snacks, bottle of wine and chilled glasses (we don't drink but it was beyond thoughtful) in addition to coffee, tea, juice and creamers. The cottage was very clean and tastefully decorated--the vintage furniture was to die for! I absolutely loved this stay and on the rare occasion we get to getaway, we would definitely return to Cushing Cottage! Thank you for your hospitality!

Yet another fabulous few days in Gettysburg! We loved the cottage and all the birds and bunnies, and can’t wait to return!

The property itself is as beautiful as it is peaceful. Inside the cabin, every single thoughtful, tiny thing you could need is provided. The room temp and the furniture is very cozy. Outside, we were greeted and kept company by the most friendly animals! Turkeys, chickens, rabbits, and even the family’s dog made an appearance! Overall, the atmosphere was super cozy and calm and the entire property was spotless & cared for. We will absolutely be going back!

This was our second time staying at the Cushing Cabin and we plan to stay again. The beds are very comfortable and the hosts make you feel right at home! Thank you for your hospitality and sharing your critters for extra entertainment! We appreciate you and your lovely cabin!

Very clean, the kitchen stocked well, temperature control was easy and good. Our was great, friendly and helpful.

I was so impressed with this property. I cannot say how much fun we had with the host his animals, the beautiful, beautiful room we stayed in. We had actually food for breakfast that they provided we had water. They gave us a bottle of wine. This was by far the funnest place. I’ve stayed in in a long time. Thank you so much. Well appointed, charming cottage. Away from the hustle and bustle, but close enough to attractions. Hosts supplied lovely snacks and beverages. Comfortable bed too.

Third time here. Very peaceful and clean. Beautiful sunrise out the window. Friendly bunnies to feed. Available smoking area out on the porch. Truly a five star place. Wish there was a tub to soak in! Maybe a hot tub some day? Hehe. Thanks again!

We absolutely loved the location of the property, the cottage, all of the sweet pets, and the hosts were so kind! The cottage was nicely decorated for Christmas which made us feel very cozy.

Everything was so much more than expected. Snacks, beverages and everything we needed. Immaculate cottage. Very comfortable bed. The host was so nice. If you love animals, please stay here because you will be greeted by so many. Beautiful and quiet surroundings.

We are repeat guests, as this is our second Thanksgiving weekend staying here in Brierfield Cottages! This was a much anticipated getaway for us. What a treat to feed domesticated birds and lop eared bunnies right at our door! The cottages are so relaxing and comfortable with many extras added by the hosts! We would highly recommend anyone to stay here! We just love it!

As others stated: very quiet and clean. 10 minutes from the center of Gettysburg. We arrived at night and accidentally drove into some of the neighbors’ driveways, but we finally got it. Feeding the roaming bunnies was delightful.

We just stayed three nights in Cushing and our friend was in Pickett. We all LOVED it! Both cabins are cozy, well appointed, and SPOTLESS. HOST, Chris, is very responsive and helpful. We’ll be back.

Everything was wonderful--not a full kitchen (no range top or oven) but we had everything we needed for a wonderful, peaceful, and quiet stay in a beautiful place. Thank you

The cabin is absolutely adorable. Both the cabin and grounds are extremely clean. The privacy of the property is a bonus. I absolutely loved the snacks for feeding the animals and the human snacks provided were a nice surprise. Will definitely come again!

We really recommend this lovely cottage to all. It was beautifully done and had everything we needed. Really enjoyed all of the animals.

Wonderful place to stay, especially if you like ducks, turkeys, chickens and bunnies! Their greater of a furry kind, Izzy was a frequent vositor throughout our stay. The cabin was comfortable and we had want for nothing. Will definitely stay there anytime we are in the area!

Everything was absolutely wonderful. The hosts went above and beyond to make you feel at home. They truly thought of everything. The covered porch was extremely relaxing while listening to all of the peepers! We look forward to coming back again!

The host was great I accidentally booked the wrong cottage and they worked with me to get it straight. Very nice little cottage in a beautiful woodsy country setting. Several friendly free range chickens, turkeys and bunnies. The hosts has a bag of cornflakes to feed them and they love it. Had turkeys at the door at 7 this mirning adking for their treat. Close to several nearby places of interest. The host's are wonderful. Had a wagon to pull suitcase etc. down path. Highly recommend.

This was a wonderful place to stay! The hosts were wonderful making check in/out easy, left us snacks and little breakfast cakes and a bottle of wine! The cottage was clean and had the amenities of home. It was located close enough to Gettysburg to do what we wanted but was out far enough to feel secluded. We loved the array of visiting pets from the farm.

This place has all you need for a peaceful and cozy stay. It's our new staycation. The hosts are some of the nicest people you'll meet. This trip they sent me home with fresh cut sunflowers. They provide drinks and snacks in the cottage.The bed is extremely comfy. Very clean space. Screen in porch during the summer was so wonderful. It has a little farm vibe with turkeys, chickens, rooster, bunnies and a friendly dog. It's fun to feed the bunnies, they leave a bag of snacks for you to feed them. Its such a great spot.

We loved everything about this property. Location was perfect—country quiet peaceful yet so close and convenient to everything. Cottage charming with no amenity overlooked. It was a gem!

Loved the cottage & the animals especially

The place is exactly as listed. The owners are close, but give you privacy. They give you a bag of cornflakes to feed the bunnies and the chickens and turkeys. We were traveling a lot so we were not at the cabin a whole lot, but the time that we were there was spent peacefully recovering from the day.

This was our second time visiting the property and we enjoyed every moment we were there! I could have spent hours outside on the porch watching the birds and listening to the sound of nature. The property owners are wonderful, they left us to our privacy but also talked with us about the their flock when we had questions. We shall return!

Amazing hosts!!!!! You park at your designated spot and walk on a stone path up to your cottage!! Perfect size for couples get away.

We loved the quiet of the countryside cottage. The various pets were fun to interact with and provided a ton of entertainment! Cottage was clean and the front screened-in porch was a favprite place to hand out at the end of the day!

We had a very nice weekend in Gettysburg. Our stay at the Cushing Cottage was very pleasant and relaxing. What a treat to find many different snacks and some drinks available in the fridge! We very much enjoyed watching and interacting with the chickens, turkeys, rabbits, etc. What a unique experience! The hosts are very friendly and you should not hesitate to book this cottage.

All of the amazing animal friends are a bonus - Debbie, Izze, and the whole bunch. We enjoyed the peace and pace of the cottage which always allows us the time to reconnect. We were lucky to have found this cozy cottage for our one night stay. We were very entertained by all the animals that welcomed us. The hospitality could not have been better. Chris and Todd certainly went above and beyond. We hope to visit again, hopefully for a longer stay.

Honestly, I don't have enough adjectives to describe the experience. The surroundings which included rabbits, chickens, turkeys, roosters, hens was absolutely idyllic. The lodgings were perfect, clean and quaint. Numerous not expected amenities, i.e., cheese and crackers, OJ, water, wine and more.I would highly recommend

Like everyone says, the visits by their pet rabbits, chickens, ducks, geese and turkeys are good for the soul. The interior of the cabin felt larger than I expected from the appearance from the outside, and well appointed and provisioned with very nice towels and sheets. There is no stove/range, but the hosts promptly brought us a propane grill that filled our cooking needs very well. A very memorable stay.

Me and my boyfriend stayed for our spring break, and we wish our stay was longer! we fell in love with all the animals and the peacefulness of the cottage. we will definitely be back another time, and if you have the chance to visit you should!!

The cottage we stayed at was really tidy, clean and cozy. It was on a peaceful little farm with chickens, turkeys and bunnies. They left us a bag of cereal to feed them which was a fun surprise. The animals were super friendly and an added bonus to the visit. Our host also offered a bunch of little snacks and had everything you would need for weekend get away. Definitely a 10 out of 10. 5 stars for this place. Highly recommend and will be going back to see what it's like in the summer.

Our stay was nothing short of magical. The property is so beautiful and well cared for. The hosts were extremely friendly, the fridge was stocked with goodies, and they plowed/shoveled the walkways and driveway when the snow hit! Gettysburg in winter was absolutely beautiful and I can’t wait to come back to the property in the summer to experience it all over again.

I can’t say enough good things about this cottage. Beautiful setting. So many thoughtful amenities. Friendly and welcoming hosts. Amazing tame animals on the property that are irresistible! I miss them!! We had only a 2 night stay, but a return (longer) visit is definitely in our future.
