Stayed Sep 11, 2019A beautiful little cottage loaded with vines in the stunning countryside of Kopolcs. Everything you need for an enjoyable stay is there in the cottage which is close to amazing towns, one nicer than another. Veszprém is absolutely beautiful as is Sümeg castle, we stayed for 1 week but could have stayed longer. The weather in September is amazing. Thanks to our wonderful hosts Latszo & Linda who were extremely hospitable, bringing us goodies from their garden. I can’t forget Gaby who was there always when we needed her with her amazing knowledge of Hungary. We will be back!!

Stayed Aug 22, 2018Loved staying here. The cottage was spacious, very clean and excellent grounds to run around in.The owners were so kind and lovely to us and looked after us well.Only thing was the main bed was very squeaky when you move the tiniest bit , but this is a small matter. We would definitely stay here again and loved the location to vineyards and Lake Balaton.Thank you Laslow and Linda

Stayed Jun 17, 2018This property is perfect. Exactly as presented. Superb view of the village and fruit trees on the yard. Wonderful deck outside for dining or just taking in the surrounding. Listen to the birds or church bells and enjoy a glass of wine. The hosts are very responsive and helpful in every way. Highly recommend this place to release your stress. Small grocer in the village but you have to drive to another town to find a restaurant.

Stayed Aug 2, 2017We spent two weeks at the cottage and did enjoy our stay very much. We particularly liked the location in the picturesque village Kapolcs. The cottage is clean, has a good size for two people and is equipped with marvellous antique furnitures. The breakfast we enjoyed in the wonderful big garden. We also found very useful that there is a washing machine. The owner was always very nice and helpful. All in all we had a wonderful holiday!!

Stayed Apr 15, 2017An Easter weekend for the family of four, we turned off the electronics and enjoyed each other, explored artisanal farmer's markets, and experianced Easter in a hand painted chapel with glorious songs! The church chorus in Kapolcs was a wonderful discovery.... The underwater lake in nearby Tapolca was a memorable and mysterious place for learning for my awed children. We will escape again to this cottage...only 2.5 hours from Budapest. Oh the neighbors dog was a welcome treat too, for my pet starved children.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Lovely cottage with beautiful garden in the quiet village of Kapolcs at 25 min from lake Balaton. Good bed and thanks to the thick stone walls the house stays cool during hot summer days. Landlord provided us with tips on what to do and where to eat on a daily basis . They were kind very approachable and helpful. Highly recommended.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Wow… where to begin. My two sisters, my daughter and I scheduled 2 nights stay at the lovely rose-covered cottage on our first trip to Hungary in September. Our choice was random… the cottage was in the area we wanted to visit and it looked lovely. I truly think fate had something to do with it… We fell so in love after those 2 days that we cancelled our plans for the next 2 days and remained in Kapolcs Village and at ‘our’ gorgeous cottage. The cottage is a beautifully renovated stone cottage in a picture perfect setting, decorated tastefully and comfortably in order to make your stay a welcoming and delightful experience. Linda and Laszlo were so wonderful, helping us with dining options, where to shop for groceries and filling us in on many Hungarian history lessons! The patio area was perfect for morning breakfasts, evening wine and late night discussions! Linda and Laszlo were the perfect hosts and while we are a precocious group and welcomed them into our family, I also felt that they were extremely respectful of our privacy and had we preferred ‘alone’ time, they would have completely respected and honored that. In addition to the fact that the cottage and hosts were amazing, there are many things to see and do in the area! We day-tripped to Heviz Spa, Sumeg Castle, Szigligeti Castle and the monastery on Lake Balaton in Tihany. Had we not been so comfortable at our cottage, we would surely have seen more but the desire to enjoy the scenery and beautiful weather kept us close to ‘home’. Linda is a complete darling and helped us (in about 2 minutes!) figure out why our cell phones were having issues. Laszlo was a font of information concerning what we should take the time to see in the area and we left feeling like we had made a real connection with Hungary and its history. I truly cannot express how lovely our time at the cottage was!! I’ve never been so far from home and felt so ‘at home’… The only issue that we had in our four days was leaving and saying goodbye. That and not having a day of adventure with Linda! Köszönöm, Linda and Laszlo and give Maximus a hug for us!!! Until we meet again!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We came as a Family from Germany, Berlin, to the Kapolcs Village Cottage and found a place that was more lovely than we've dreamed about. The house, the garden, the village, the nature gave us the best athmosphere to relax from the big city. The owners were from the very first moment like realy good friends. We had a great time there and it was hard to say good bye. We would like to come back as soon as possible! Thank you Linda and Laszlo!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We know that every summer there Is the Valley of Arts festival which takes place in the village. We wanted to be in the heart of the festival but also wanted a place to retreat to when we wanted peace. The cottage is wonderful with everthing that you would want for a country retreat. The views from the cottage are lovely and it has gardens, cellar and terrace for eating and sunbathing. It is 1/2 hour drive to Lake Balaton (Hungarian Sea) and 1/2 hour drive to the Picturesque county town of Veszprem. The owners are lovely people and are very approachable.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969This was the second time we stayed here and we had a lovely experience once again. Linda and Lászlo offered to take us to the celebrations on the 1st of May in the village (the villagers were decorating their May tree) and we had a chance to eat and drink with everyone gathered at the village centre and go for a walk around the village. Really nice! But the hosts also gave us space to wander on our own on the next days and to relax and they provided us with very nice tips on where to go, eat and drink. When the weather turned rainy, they kindly left us a basket full of DVDs to watch at home. Very nice cottage, lovely village and surroundings and welcoming hosts. We would like to be back again.
