Great lake front camp. Well appointed and an excellent spot for those with dogs or small kids. Would rent again if back in the area
We LOVED to proximity to the lake and how wonderful the water was. Being outside by the fire pit and lake was wonderful. The hosts were very responsive and helpful and the cottage was well appointed with everything we needed-including fast wi-fi and a little desk area to work. The only drawback for me was the musty smell, thankfully it aired out, but it was a bit off-putting when we arrived.
My husband, parents, and 2 dogs wanted to go Up North for the weekend. This was the perfect alternative to 2 hotel rooms. We visited Mackinac Island and Petoskey and enjoyed some time on the lake! Worked well for 4 adults and 2 small dogs. Wi-fi worked really well too.
The cabin was great for our family. It was private and had a great little beach area for the kids. We were able to bring our boat and tied it up to a moor knee deep. Thanks so much!
We enjoyed the beautiful view of Pickerel Lake!
Communication with the host was spectacular from even before booking (answered questions before and during the renting proceed). The home is just as pictured/described, and the location was absolutely perfect for what we wanted. We spent most days boating Pickerel, Burt, crooked river and Mullet Lake. The private dock was so convenient, and the boat launch is just a short 15 minute car ride away. Our kids loved taking the kayaks out, it was just a great addition to our lake days. We all loved spending the evening around the campfire enjoying the beautiful view. Did a day trip to Petosky and enjoyed the down town. Just a quick drive! House was stocked with more than we could have needed and the property is quiet and peaceful... it was perfect. We would absolutely stay here again. Thank you to the Moores for making it feel like we were visiting a family members property. If you are on the fence, go ahead and book, you won't regret it!
The cottage is very well appointed, with far more utensils, small appliances and accessories than any other we have rented through VRBO. The Moore's pay attention to details, and communicated very effectively before and during our stay. Although it was just the two of us with our Labrador Retriever staying this time, there was room for up to 6, with two queen beds and two bunk beds in the cottage. There was a fire pit that we used for S'mores, plus 2 kayaks and a canoe there for our use. There is much to do at the cottage, and the lake is perfect for just about any recreational activity you can think of. There are numerous board games, backgammon, dominoes and many other options. If TV is your thing, they have Dish Network and a wide selection of channels to use if you choose. We plan to return again as soon as schedules allow!
quick Fall trip to relax and enjoy the Fall colors. This property had beautiful views of the lake and trees.
Lovely spot
We enjoyed the quiet seclusion this property offered. The biggest draw is the lake & secluded location. The lake is very clean with a sandy bottom that extended quite a ways. The dock was a big plus that we were able to keep our boat close by. Had to put it in at a close by public access & drive it over to the cabin. The fishing was decent but not great. While we were there we hardly ever saw anybody. Our dogs loved the property & lake. The cabin itself is small & rustic but comfortable. It was a little musty & could use some upgrades. The cabin was clean with comfortable beds & a well stocked kitchen.
This was our family’s second stay here. We loved the view of the lake and having access to the canoe and kayaks. We also rented a pontoon for a couple of days from a business on Crooked lake. The cabin is no frills sort, but that is just what we were looking for. The owners were great at communicating with us during our stay. We hope to stay here again another time,
We had a blast.
My boyfriend and I wanted to take a vacation with our two dogs for a week where they could run straight to the water. This was a perfect place for that! This location has a very nice secluded feel while not being far from town or near by groceries. The cottage was perfect size for us and had everything we needed to cook and prepare food for the week. My boyfriend enjoyed one of the many kayaks provided by the owners as well. The owners were quick to respond with check in and any questions we had. This cottage was a perfect get away for us!
Cabin is small and quaint but we knew that going in and was part of the charm. Property and location were amazing! Lake is beautiful and clear. Lake bottom is sandy so it is great for the kids to play in. It is also shallow so you don’t have to worry about the kids going too deep, at the end of the long dock the water wasn’t even up to my waist. Supplied kayaks were a great touch and took the kids on multiple trips. One side of the property was a forest, so you felt somewhat secluded and made the lake less busy. Owners were great and were quick to respond to any questions over text. I definitely recommend this place for a summer getaway.
My family really enjoyed our stay at this cottage! It was very clean and stocked well. Vickie was very responsive and wanted to ensure everything was to our satisfaction upon arrival. My son and I enjoyed a morning kayak ride together. The cottage is next to wooded area where from the dock we saw a deer wading in the lake. We would love to go back!
