Cozy cottage on Creeper Trail -Fenced in backyard for dogs. Near Restaurants

Property was located in a great spot, except it is right on the main road and there was a lot of construction traffic for the trail rebuild (I assume)- only made us nervous because we had two small dogs and a 3 year old, but ended up being very manageable. The fenced in backyard was perfect and we enjoyed sitting outside. We took advantage of the bike rental shop across the street and rode the creeper trail. The staff there were also super nice, just like everyone we encountered in the town. We also visited Abingdon, which was just a short drive away. Great town too. The house was the perfect size for us and we would very much like to visit again. Everything worked in the house except the toilet is a little finicky- not a big deal to figure out, and wouldn't stop is from renting this house in the future.

Very accommodating.

This is a comfortable cozy house in a great location. Easy access to incredible hiking and right on the Virginia Creeper Trail. Walkable to everything in Damascus. Our dogs loved it and a big comfortable couch to relax on while watching the big screen TV after a day on the trails. Super comfy bed!

Great location. Fenced back yard.

This is my third or fourth year staying at this house. I come to visit my family that lives in shady valley, TN. It has a large fenced in yard, which is perfect for both of my dogs. A very clean and cozy house. We enjoy listening to the band during the day, when we're there, at the little restaurant next door.

We came for the yeti 100 race and it was great for that. Brought our pup and the back yard was a treat.

Thoroughly enjoyed our long Anniversary weekend celebration. Access to the VA Creeper Trail was just across the street. We were aware Fine Dining as well as food shopping options in the immediate vicinity were going to be limited so brought along supplies to prepare our own intimate dining experiences. Kitchen was sufficiently equipped and access to a nice covered back porch with gas grill was greatly appreciated. The accommodations were adequate and the weather was absolutely perfect. The town seems to be just hanging on until the upper part of the trail is repaired. We wish them well and look to return in the future.

Great location and great host!

Such a sweet little place with great access to the town! Since a good portion of the Virginia Creeper Trail is closed right now we used the house as a jumping off point to a day of hiking near Boone and another day of exploring Cherokee National Forest. The fenced in backyard was great for our dog. We ate out for all meals because there were so many great options and didn’t use the kitchen much but it looked to be well appointed. WiFi was strong and the TVs were great.

Check in was very easy.Noted recent upgrades on all appliances. Creeper trail runs right across the street, with a bike rental shop across the street too (check to see if open.) This makes it a great location for trail riders, or those that only want to watch the riders go by. Right beside of a restaurant. Other eats not far away. Great location, great stay.AWESOME rain shower!

We had a wondeful time in the cozy cottage. It was clean and comfortable, with a stocked kitchen that made it convenient for us to cook a bit. The location was perfect as well. We will definitely return!

We had such a great stay. The house is so clean, stocked, and cozy. Our dog was also with us and she liked the backyard. We spent a long weekend and when we come back, we will stay here again! The A/C was awesome and so was the shower. The location is perfect.

The street number that was sent to us is incorrect. But we located it by photo. We were charged a last minute cleaning fee, but the floors and back porch were not cleaned.The kitchen had everything you would need for your stay and it is appointed well. The furnishings in the house are very nice. Bathroom updated and nicely done. We would stay again, but would appreciate if it was cleaned up a bit more. Especially the back porch.Proximity to the bike trail and AT is excellent.

Cute cottage in the perfect location for biking, hiking and walking. Check in was incredibly easy and the cottage was very clean. The backyard was bigger than expected so an added bonus. Would definitely stay here again!

A single family house with nice sized fenced-in yard. Furnishings were simple but more than adequate. Location is the big appeal to this property, right in town with the major bike rental outfitters for Creeper Trail literally across the street.As of April 2025, the community is still rebuilding from Helene damage, but still has plenty on offer in Damascus, nearby Abingdon with the Barter Theater, historic downtown and nice restaurants. Appreciated the book about Mount Rogers Natl Historic Area in the home to help us prep for a gorgeous hiking adventure there with the wild ponies.

Easy check in. Comfy beds, new appliances, awesome shower, perfect location. Easy place to stay.

This was our first stay in Damascus. The town definitely charmed us. Staying here, we had several great restaurants/bar that we could walk to. The house was nicely decorated, comfortable, clean and modern. The bed was comfortable. The fenced yard was very nice for our dog but I would not leave him out there alone because the fence didn’t appear to be very sturdy. I would definitely stay here again.

Perfect location if you’re accessing the trail! It’s right across the street. Dining and town are within walking distance. It was just my spouse and I, but this house would work well for a family trip.We’ll be back next year!

Family enjoyed our stay at the cottage

Amazing stay in Damascus. The house has everything you need and is in walking distance to so many cool shops and restaurants in town. Fenced in back yard is ideal for bringing dogs as well. Amazingly easy access To the Creeper Trail - it’s right across the street! Highly recommend Wilson’s cafe, which is also practically across the street. Shrimp and grits - delicious! We’ll definitely check the availability here first when we plan our next trip.

Good stay. It was as advertised.

My husband and I stayed with our 2 dogs and would definitely stay again. Very private, host was not intrusive at all. Great place for our dogs to run and play in back yard. We were all very comfortable.

My friend and I love this home. This is our second stay, and we keep coming back for the location, but also the cleanliness and ease of checking in. Wes has been great with communication. No complaints at all, and we look forward to staying here again in the future.

The house was nicely decorated. Fairly clean. Kitchen needs a few more pots. Only one there Close to many bike rentals. We did the trail both directions. Once with rented bikes and the other direction with our own bikes. Check your rental bikes closely. One of the bikes had a warped wheel with loose spokes. Damascus is a beautiful taunt town with many friendly people. We had a good time.

Creeper Trail and Family time special.

This location was great for our family of 4 and two dogs. Love the fenced-in backyard so that the pups could run around. Very clean inside. Great shower/bath. We had everything we needed! Bonus was that it was right across the street from the Creeper Trail and a bike shuttle service. We would definitely stay here again!

The house was everything we expected! It was plenty of space for our family if 4 and walking distance to everything. We loved Wocked Chicken next door and the easy access to bike rentals and the trail. Would definitely stay again.
