Stayed Jan 8, 2026This is an exceptional gem of a place. Warm, cozy and welcoming. This is our second visit in January and the landscape did not disappoint. We had a snowstorm, bunkered down by the fire and had many lovely walks. A winter wonderland in the Door is the best to decompress.

Stayed Sep 29, 2025This was our second stay at Timberline and, once again, we enjoyed it very much. It has a quiet, very pretty location in the woods with a beautiful screened porch that provided a great spot for reading and relaxing, just what we were looking for.

Stayed Sep 26, 2025This place was absolutely perfect—exactly as described! Peaceful and quiet, yet only short drives to the state parks and Sister Bay. The room was spotless, and communication with Kelly and Joe was easy and friendly. Pet-friendly, cozy, and just what we needed for a relaxing getaway. We’d highly recommend and would definitely stay again!

Stayed Jul 1, 2025This was our second stay at the cabin. Its a great location to escape the noise of 4th of July with our dogs. The cabin is nicely oufitted with all the kitchen gear we needed, as well as beach chairs and bikes. We really enjoy the short cut through the woods to Gills Rock for dinner at the Shoreline and the the 4th of July concert and boat regata. While remote, its a short drive to both Ellison Bay and Sister Bay.

Stayed Jan 9, 2025We came up for a special birthday stay with our “pup”. We love the location and have been door county visitors for over 20 years. We walked, hiked, explored, shopped a bit. We enjoyed the snow, the cold, the fireplace warmed us. Lovely place, gorgeous decor, comfortable furnishings. Kelly was exceptional in communication and answered any of our questions. We look forward to coming back.

Stayed Sep 29, 2024My husband and I, along with our 13 year old Golden Retriever, Katie Rose, very much enjoyed our four night stay at the Timberline Cottage up at the northern end of the Door Peninsula near Gill's Rock. The cottage was very nicely furnished and there was plenty of room for us to spread out in, including in a pretty screened porch. For us, the cottage's location nestled in the woods away from much of Door County congestion was just what we were looking for, in terms of having a quiet, restful stay with good access to hiking where we could enjoy the beautiful fall colors at nearby Newport State Park. We're very happy that we found this cottage and look forward to a return visit! Linda

Stayed Sep 14, 2024We were looking to explore the Northern tip of Door County on this trip. Timberline Cottage was a great home base location. Very easy access to Washington Island and new faves, like the Ellison Bluff overlook and trails, Kick Ash coffee, Charlie's Smokehouse, Bea's Homemade and Seaquist Orchards. To name a few :) Even though we spent most of our time in north part, it's a reasonable drive to anywhere in Door County! The cabin itself was awesome!! Very cozy and comfortable, beautifully decorated! Truly felt like a home away from home! We LOVED spending time on the screened porch (also our beagle's fave spot!). Big double thumbs up!! Highly recommend. Thank you Kelly and Joe! You're great hosts.

Stayed Sep 2, 2024my second stay at this cottage-- cozy little spot! Away from the tourists, lots of great natural areas to explore in the area. Some of my favorites: Newport State Park's dark sky area and hiking trails Mink River Estuary Washington Island And don't miss Bea's Ho-Made Pies, just around the corner from the house--remember to pick up vanilla ice cream at The Pig! Kelly is a great host-- check in process is easy and she's easily reachable if you need anything. Beds are comfortable, wood burning fireplace and plenty of wood, screened in porch, what else does a person need!

Stayed Jun 8, 2024My husband and I LOVED Timberline Cottage! The cottage was lovely, comfy, and a peaceful getaway. We especially enjoyed the screened porch, where we listened to birds and recharged. We had everything we needed, and the decor is so thoughtful and iconic of the area. The owners are amazing hosts. Kelly was incredibly gracious. I cannot recommend this cottage and this couple more. Stayed May 16, 2024This is a charming, cozy house, surrounded by trees and very quiet. The fully stocked coffee bar was great. The fireplace with all the necessities to build a fire adds to a cozy atmosphere. Comfortable beds and soft sheets and comforters were a huge plus. The attention to details and everything we needed for our week's stay. Close to Washington Island ferry and the scenic route of highway 42 getting there. Bike riding, and hiking are close. I would highly recommend this for vacation and hope to be a repeat guest.
