This is the perfect place to escape a busy life & social distance. The cottage was tucked away. It was so peaceful & quiet. It's centrally located. We were able to go to Zion Nat'l Park (1 hr), fish at Aspen Mirror Lake (35 min), Bryce Canyon Nat'l Park (1 hr) & the South Rim of the Grand Canyon (2 hrs). The kitchen is fully stocked with cookware. There aren't a lot of options to eat out as this is a rural area. We planned meals, brought food & cooked. Similar to what you'd do for camping. There is a small grocery store about 10-15 mins away but you won't find a large chain store close by. The cottage was cozy & clean, has an air conditioner. We were there end of July & slept with the windows open. Beds were very comfortable. Mercy & Hal were so sweet & made us feel at home. They offer a horse pulled wagon ride through their canyon & delicious dinner. We purchased both & loved it. I'd recommend this rental.
The cottage was very comfortable and had everything I needed. Very quiet area and was exactly what I needed after days of hiking in the nearby parks.
This was a perfect Zion Getaway. It was an easy drive to Zion National Park. The cabin was quiet, clean, and fully stocked with everything we needed...plus more. It was comfortable and private. We loved the area with it's access to so many things, and yet it was remote enough that we didn't get the noise of being on the main road or in a crowded campsite. We were so lucky to have found this hidden gem.
The cottage was perfect for our 4 day trip to visit Zion and Bryce. We were able to get easily to and from both parks. We had an issue with an outlet the first night and Hal and Marcy were there within 10 minutes to get everything fixed. While there is another cottage nearby it was always quiet and peaceful every night.
Loved the location - enabled to drive 1-2 hours in any direction and get to numerous national and state parks, and other explorations. While weather was tough with rain and snow, making ingress/egress an adventure, it all worked out. Mercy was responsive and helpful with making sure we could get in an out and was flexible with our departure in the midst of a snowstorm. The cottage is comfortable, and we had all the supplies we needed for our stay. Great place - hope to return in the future.
Very cozy
Great place to stay for visiting both Zion and Bryce equally. Hosts were great! Our baby made a mark on the kit hen table and they were very understanding and easy to talk to about it. Would stay again.
My wife and i enjoyed our stay here while visiting Bryce Canyon, Zion, and North Rim of Grand Canyon. The cottage was very clean and well stocked with towels, linens, and kitchen essentials. It is a bit off the beaten path on a dirt road which made it a great quiet place to relax after a day of hiking and sightseeing. Having the washer and dryer there was great, especially after the day we got really dirty doing the full day ATV tour. There was only one small hiccup one night when the water pump went out, but our hosts were right on it and got it back on line in short order. All in all a great little getaway cottage.
This was the perfect place for us to stay. Very quiet, remote location next to a small stream. Cottage was very clean and nicely decorated.
It was a great location for Zion, Bryce, and Kanab. The place was clean and comfy. Great little kitchen and we grilled burgers. It was really really hot outside so the a/c struggled to keep the master bedroom cold enough. I’d suggest the owner get one more a/c unit. Otherwise it was great. Thanks
This is a lovely home in a quiet place in the woods located half way between Bryce and Zion. We loved it. Good TV and Internet. Very comfortable. Beautiful outdoor areas, barbeque. Two quirks. 1. On hot summer nights, the bedrooms (upstairs) did not cool down. 2. The entrance to one of the bedrooms is through another one.
If you want to spend time at both Zion and Bryce canyons, this property is situation about 1 hour from each. The cabin has a nice rustic feel and was big enough for myself, my wife, my son and daughter in law - although a 2nd bathroom would have been a plus. I also planned to do some star gazing and found some of the darkest skies I've ever seen in a meadow just a short walk up the road. We all enjoyed the quiet and isolation. The back deck was a real plus for communing with nature.
Our family stayed here for several days while visiting the nearby National Parks and attractions. It was amazing! The cabin was clean, quiet, and just as described. Mercy and Hal are gracious hosts. We also did the horseback riding experience that they offer, and it was amazing - our girls had an awesome time. We highly recommend both staying at the property and taking advantage of the other activities they offer!
We had a lovely time in Lydia’s Canyon.
This was a perfect landing spot between Zion and Bryce Canyon. Be sure to print screen the information before you get there as we did not have cell service in the canyon (but once you get there - there is great Wi-Fi). Comfortable beds and clean. Would certainly stay again!
The cottage was a perfect home-base for our family’s trip to Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks. About equal distance between both parks, this cottage has all the basic amenities that we needed for our four day stay, but with a cozy vibe! We enjoyed our stay very much. If we had had more time we would’ve loved to partake in the horseback riding and fishing opportunities there on the property.
Lydia's Canyon Cottage is a great location in between Bryce Canyon and Zion NPs. The cottage is very clear and comfortable. My kids loved sleeping up in the loft area and having the cozy living room to relax in after exploring all day. The Stouts are very wonderful hosts who answer messages quickly. The check out directions were clear and concise. This was our first VRBO experience and I was very pleased! This is a perfect cottage for families who want some quiet, relaxation after outdoors adventures during the day.
