Summary:

You will love this comfy and cozy cottage. The property sits far back off the street on a double lot, with off street parking for up to four cars. You will feel like you are in the countryside, until you turn the corner and all of the action of Mount Washington is only a few short blocks away. The neighborhood features; bars, restaurants, coffee shops, a grocery store, pharmacy and pizza shops. Grandview Ave (Pgh's most scenic street) is only a 5 minute walk.

>The Space:

The space has a country cottage feel, and is a little bit quarky. There is an entry/mud room that has laundry and a Pittsburgh Potty which is common in the Burgh. Through the door you are lead to the galley style kitchen area that semi-open to the dining room and cozy living space. There are sliding glass doors from the living room out onto the front patio. Up the steps leads to a den/loft space featuring a sleeper sofa. There are two doors off of this room that lead to two private bedrooms with comfy queen beds. The bathroom is captive through either of the bedrooms.

Guest Access:

The house is completly private to your use. That includes the parking, yard, patio, washer dryer etc. You will not have access to the shed, which we use for storage. You may occasionally see myself or one of my team members around the grounds.

Please park on the RIGHT side of the driveway. We occasionally use the LEFT side of the driveway for overflow parking from another short term rental down the street - this is not very often.

The Neighborhood:

The Mount is an absolute gem! It boats easy access to Downtown, the airport, the North Side (Stadiums) and all other points East/West/North and South. We have a world renowned City View on Grandview Ave. Our main business district is located at Shiloh Street and offers great stops for lunch, dinner, a quick coffee or to grab some drinks! Be sure to check out the 10+ miles of hiking trails offered on the Emerald View Trail System. If you dig Architecture, Chatman Village is nationally recognized for its design and function, while your in that part of the neighborhood grab a cup of joe from Cafe Cravings, or grab a cold beer and some wings at the Bigham Tavern.

It is about a $8 uber/lyft ride to any of the stadiums/arenas as well as the convention center.

For groceries, bottle shop for beer, bakery, a few Restaurants, and the liquor store are all located on or near Shiloh. It is our main street on Mt. Washington and its located about 5 minutes from the house. The Grocery Store - Shop and Save - is at the intersection of Virginia and Shiloh. Shiloh is a great place to park and walk down Grandview as well to see the city at night.

Location, amenities and reviews drew us to this property. My son and I were in Pittsburgh for a week and this was home base. The PROS:Location. A short drive to downtown and the convention center as well as cultural attractions — Carnegie museums, Warhol museum, Phipps conservatory, Heinz History Center, stellar views a 10 minute walk away. Was great for July 4th fireworks. Also an easy hour drive to Frank Lloyd Wright's Falling Water. Restaurants and grocery are a couple minutes drive or several minutes walk away.Communication. Outstanding communication from the host, Corey — before and during our stay. Info on location and keyless access was perfect. Corey was very responsive to questions about dining in the area, quickly providing a range of nearby options.Parking. Free, private parking is fantastic! Fireflies in the yard and the doe and fawns that visited almost daily were a bonus.Space. For the two of us it was a perfect amount of space. Cost. Compared to other options it was a good value. The CONS. Overall the property could use a bit of freshening up. Some minor repairs, a coat of paint and a deep cleaning. Note the bed frames are squeaky and the road the house is on is STEEP. We had a good stay and the property met our needs.

Very clean; spatious ; abundant parking; pet-friendly; quiet neighborhood. Cottage is short walk to Mt Washington overlook and Incline and ~15 minute drive to Pitt’s Petersen Event Center venue. The rental is a bit off the beaten path and could be challenge for non-Pittsburgher or unadventurous drivers. The cottage is spatious, clean, and comfortable. The staircase to upstairs bedrooms is steep - after all this an older home, but nicely renovated and good appliances/fixtures.

This place worked out great for us (two adults and a 7-year-old) in June. Fireflies in the little yard. Easy parking. Easy in and out. Centrally located to everywhere we wanted to go in Pittsburgh. Comfortable inside, it had everything we needed with a little kitchen, washer dryer, sitting and eating area, then upstairs clean towels and bedding in the 2 bedrooms and good little bathroom. Steep hill was a non-issue in summer. Steep steps inside were fine for us, could be challenging for others.

The place was perfect for friend and I who were visiting Pittsburgh to watch the NCAA basketball tournament at PPG arena. Walking distance to restaurants but it is hilly. 8min uber to PPG arena. I really is like a cottage in the city… was pleasantly surprised to see a few Deer in the back yard every morning.
