Bruceton Mills, West Virginia
A rustic and cozy cottage with 2 beds & 1 bath. The fenced in backyard is perfect for pets and children. Covered porches are great for watching sunsets. Only minutes from Cooper's Rock State Forest and Cheat River, and about 20 minute drive to Laurel Highlands and the Yough. 45 min to Wisp and Seven Springs. An hour to Cannan Valley and Showshoe. Perfect for hunting, fishing, rafting, or any other outdoor activities(including winter). 20 minutes from WVU and and WVU hospitals. Great for move in weekend(parking for moving truck on site), parents weekend, or any home football game. Perfect to explore all of wild and wonderful West Virginia!
Property was as described by previous users, not happy about the additional damages insurance requirement, not disclosed until finalizing the booking. Vrbo doesn't value those renters who have consistently show respect to the properties they booked.
The draw was the proximity to hiking, and the fenced on yard for the dogs. They had fun running around the good size back yard.
Very clean. Had everything we needed. Close to our son which was a big plus. A busy highway that really was no problem getting in or out of driveway or hearing any loud traffic. Felt like home. Will be staying there again when we visit son and family. 4 because lawn needed mowing which would bother some people if they had children. Not a problem with us.
We stayed here to get ready for our wedding at Coopers Rock State Park. The location was fine, it was along a bit of a busier road but honestly did not hear cars coming by and it seemed overall peaceful and quiet. The only complaint is there is a window in the shower and that didn't feel too comfortable! lol my husband put a towel across it so no one could see in. I would definitely stay here again. The property owner couldn't have been nicer. Our daughter accidentally took our kayak straps home in her car so he allowed us to leave the kayaks there past check out to go buy new straps, which was much appreciate!
The house was clean and relaxing. Nice size. Well equipped. The hosts were friendly and responsive. The fenced in yard is huge. The dogs LOVED it. Would definitely go there again! Thank you!!
We had a great time. House was great. Dogs loved the yard! It was long weekend to visit family in the area. Would stay again!
quiet and relaxing stay
Good house, old, but had heat, hot water, and kitchen. Definitely room to spread out in and out. It is not 15 min from campus as advertised, so don't make the same mistake I did, if you want to be within 15 min of WVU.
All in all the stay was underwhelming. Upon enter in the evening hours I found that both the overhead main lights were burned out. Had to replace the one in the entrance with a bulb from the kitchen to be able to see to bring in my belongings. After getting everything inside and put up I attempted to sit down and relax only to find there was no WIFI available. This problem was fixed but not till Wednesday morning causing me to use my iPhone data plan to get any type of entertainment on my phone. Then there was the shower, though very clean and well equipped the tub has no type of anti-slip in it. This created a very worrisome shower experience when my feet kept slipping with nothing to grab on to in the shower. Pretty much everything else was as described in the literature. One thing that was outstanding was the fenced in backyard. My pup had herself a great time outside running around.
Its not that I didn't enjoy our stay, there were a few challenges. The temperature was cold and the house was very drafty. The TV never worked for us, we had several chats with the owner, there was a problem with the internet which was resolved only to not work again. The internet was spotty at best. The alarms would beep at times and we shared with the owner. Overall it was ok. Would we return, no. The property sits along side of a busy road.
