Stayed Jan 1, 1After looking for a while to find something to tick all of our boxes of which there were many, this places did just that. A group of 15 with age range from 3 years up to 72 this place certainly suited us. Lovely pool, sitting in the hot tub under the stars, plenty of places to lounge when the weather turned a bit damp and when it wasn't, places to stroll with the animals. Look out for the elephant As we we're a large group we had the use of the old farmhouse and the Georgian which interlinked through a secret door. The kids loved all the places for hide and seek. This place is great for all age groups, I hope we get to come back.

Stayed Jan 1, 1We rented both the Farmhouse and Georgian House at the beginning of July for our first complete family gathering, which comprises our three children with their respective spouses and each with their two sons ranging from 3-18 years. The families are spread over three continents so not a simple task to achieve. The two houses are adequately integrated to make it almost transparent that it is two properties. Meals were consumed mainly in the Georgian kitchen, which was a bit of a stretch for 14, although the round table outside with parasol was also utilised at times. The Farmhouse kitchen could have been used but it was simpler to get everyone together and the adjacent games and TV rooms became the waiting rooms for all the children and the odd adult. We were fortunate in booking in early July before UK schools broke up for the summer vacation, principally since the younger of our grandchildren live overseas, with different school constraints and the older two had finished their UK school exams, and we thus had little contention from the few other Coulscott guests with the wide range of the children orientated facilities. The Couldscott facilities have something for all ages. The swimming pool was particularly beneficial for our younger grandchildren who are at an early stage in their swimming ability, nevertheless, all participated at times. The trampolining, table tennis and Wendy House were also quite an attraction. Relaxing after a visit to the beach in the hot tub was also appreciated. One of our younger USA grandchildren was so taken with the facility, that he was keen to buy it! There are also enough attractions in the area to keep all age groups engaged, with beaches, high sand dunes for body boarding, surfing and kite flying at Woolacombe Beach, off-shore fishing, kayaking, a dinosaur park and golf at Ilfracombe Golf Course. We went out one evening to the Black Velvet Inn for a meal and that was excellent offering a wide range of menu choices. The hosts are very accommodating and were prompt in addressing any problems we had. We plan to have a family reunion in 2 years’ time to bring the our family together again but it’s going to be a hard task to find an equivalent accommodation with everything Coulscott House has to offer.

Stayed Jan 1, 1We were a large group of family and friends, staying in the house and farm house and cottages. The property is very well set up with different rooms that we used for puzzles, hobbies, or reading when it rained. Wonderful kids play room for the 3-year old, pool and hot tubs much appreciated. Lovely mowed path with views of fields, amusing mix of animals including goofy alpacas, and a great base for walks along the coastal path and Exmoor. The staff were great and the facilities wonderful. A great holiday break!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Great welcome for our party of 10 adults , 3 under fives and 6 dogs. Spacious and comfortable accommodation .Alice called round soon after arrival to explain things and immediately brought bed sides and a replacement kettle when requested. We enjoyed time in the pool with the children , the hot tub for the adults. The children’s outdoor play area was perfect for the tinies and would suit older children too , our dogs were also clearly welcome. My adult children cooked a 4 course dinner to celebrate my birthday on one night and had all the equipment they needed provided. We have booked again for next year!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Three generations enjoyed a wonderful holiday at Coulscott House. There was so much to do that the children were happy to spend most of the week on site. Alice and Luke have thought of everything to make sure that everyone is well catered for and any slight problems we encountered were soon dealt with. If we had wanted to venture further afield there was plenty to do on the doorstop but the furthest we went was Combe Martin Beach where the children loved rock climbing & rock pooling. The app we downloaded for the site was extremely well thought out & useful as was the honesty shop. All in all a brilliant location - the children gave it 100/10 and that says it all!
