Stuart and Lily are the perfect hosts. The cottage was perfect for us, clean, self contained, quiet. Lily made sure we had everything we needed, she was fantastic. We will be definitely going here again and would recommend The Thompson Arms to anyone.

Room 3 was a small home away from home for a few days. Well equipped kitchen, comfortable lounge & bedroom and small but perfectly formed shower-room. Stuart was attentive and breakfast was delicious.

I was sick when we arrived but was able to recover quickly in the cosy cottage. We had home made soup and read books. Very welcoming.

Stuart was very welcoming. The small space had been used very creatively so that we had everything we needed without feeling cramped. It was lovely and warm (outside the weather was cold and windy) and very clean. The little courtyard is very pretty and we loved hearing the birds sing in the cherry tree.

We stayed in a large double bedroom with en suite in the pub. The room also had flatscreen TV and sofa and was a warm and welcoming place to relax at the end of the day. It was very clean and comfortable and the en suite had a good power shower. It was well located for sightseeing and shops and lovely to be in the countryside. There were plenty of places to eat locally for an evening meal.

We stayed over the night we were going to a concert in dalby forest. Much needed rest after being out for over 4 hours!

Came to York for a training course and stayed a few days to explore the area. Great facility to be independent/ self-catering and have a brilliant vantage point to either York or the Yorkshire Moors.
