Cottage at Magic Mountain Views Lote 51

Casita, the little house, was nice. Property owner on site. Property owner did not allow use of washer for laundry. Property owner did my laundry for me 3 times weekly, but did not do it the last week. Property owner fails to adequately control on-site dog causing me anxiety during every entry and exit for the whole month. Dog is young German Shepard without adequate training or supervision. Thus, I had to sneak out and then sneak in watching for the dog every time I wanted to go somewhere. It was great when my laundry got done, but disruptive when it didn't happen with no communication about why and no alternative. Owner made a very nice greeting, but was essentially not reachable by my initiative. I was not given a cell phone number for contact via WhatsApp and could not approach the house because of the dog. Electricity was mostly fine until the last week when it started being very on-and-off. Hot water is great while it lasts, but cannot accommodate a long shower. Overall, the grounds are beautiful, but cannot be enjoyed due to the dog. I find the owners irresponsible about adequately managing the dog with strangers on the property. The dog is out and barking at about 5:30 AM each day.

It was just as advertised. I was a little under the weather so didn't get out like I wanted to but the spot was very comfortable.

The cottage is one of 3 rental units plus the owner’s house near the top of Vista Atenas, about a 7 min drive from Atenas. You will need a car but probably not a 4x4. The cottage DOES NOT have pool access which we learned only when we arrived - only 2 units do. This was a big blow for us. (Owners claim it’s the website’s fault on the listing). Additionally, the studio has no patio or deck. So you’re inside or you’re out in your car. It is an open-plan studio with pleasant decor. There was a welcome basket and an equipped kitchen. The studio has adequate cooking, sitting, dining and sleeping areas and a partial view of the valley. The tiny bathroom has no door (curtain) and the walls do not go to the ceiling. The internet is just about adequate. There is no a/c but a good ceiling fan and big windows were sufficient (just). The parking is unshaded. This unit would suit 1-2 smaller people who plan to be out most of the day and don’t mind the sound of barking dogs.
