Comfy Cottage in Apalachicola; Easy Walk to Downtown!

Clean and comfy. Nice backyard with fire and plenty to do in the area. Would recommend to all my friends

Our stay was the perfect choice in Apalatchacola, we were there for our daughter’s wedding for Memorial Day weekend and we decided to bring our “Tino”. The fenced in backyard was the biggest reason we chose the house, until we arrived and found out we were in an adorable immaculate cottage fully equipped with all of our needs. Nicely decorated with fresh new bedroom and bathroom linens and towels. Kitchen was very accommodating as I prepared breakfast every morning. We were probably the quietest area in the city, close to grocery and drug stores and just a short walk to town and the Gibson Inn where the wedding was held. Totally recommend for a relaxing worry free vacation, we will return. PS, Mary is a fantastic host 5

Beautiful and well stocked property, check-in/check-out easy. Our pets also had fun. Great location with downtown a few blocks away and easy drive to other local destinations. We will definitely be back

We love this property! This is the 4th year in a row that we have stayed here for the Apalachicola Tour of Homes. It's perfect for a family or 2 couples - clean, comfortable, charming, and walkable to downtown Apalachicola. Hope to come back again next year.

Very private. Very clean and very comfortable. Really a neat place. Was completely refurbished and updated but they did just a fabulous job keeping it period sensitive to when it was built. Very well furnished. Very well supplied in terms of kitchen supplies, snacks, bottled water, toiletries, towels, etc. Walked to restaurants downtown. Biked all over. The town is very cool as well. Lots of music and activities on Friday and Saturday nights. Try the Station...best seafood in town at reasonable prices. Bed was awesome. Communication with the host was excellent. This was a great experience and we'd definitely return to the same rental.

This cottage was the most well equipped and provisioned of any VRBO we have stayed in. The building was clean, the owner had user manuals for all appliances, references to most dining and activities in the surrounding area. The fenced in back yard was great for outside relaxing and dog activities. The location is in a quiet area with easy walking access to down town.We totally enjoyed our seven night stay.

Very comfortable I have stayed in many VRBO’s this one really stands out for the owner’s thoughtfulness. The home is very clean and super comfortable and well thought out, beds and bedding are very comfortable, bathrooms are beautifully remodeled and the living area and kitchen are cozy and comfortable. What really stood out are the little things that make a place more like home – coffee makers – both Keurig and traditional with coffee, sugar and even half and half in the fridge, large cocktail ice cubes in the freezer for a special cocktail, brochures, snacks and even a bottle of wine. We walked in and immediately felt pampered.The owner was super responsive when weather prevented our friends from arriving. They even refunded a portion of our stay when we missed a night – a gesture that was not required but was really appreciated.I know we will plan another trip to Apalachicola when we can all four make it and we will definitely stay in this lovely home again.

We were very happy with our stay at the comfy cottage in Apalachicola. Mary Katherine, our host, did a great job decorating and everything was in nice shape. The furniture was very comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. The backyard was fenced for our little dogs, had lots of lawn furniture and even a smokeless fire pit which we really enjoyed.

Great location for walking pretty much anywhere in town. Property was clean and had many amenities: tea, coffee, snacks, bowls for pet food and water. Having a fenced in yard was nice as my friend has a small dog. Communication with the host was very prompt. Ranks one or two of the many VRBO properties I’ve stayed at. Would definitely use again.

We loved everything about our stay here. Great location, very clean and comfortable stay.

House was extremely clean, decorated nicely with many artistic touches, kitchen was well stocked with nice dishes and pans, owner provided many extras including bottled water, Kerig coffee pods, refrigerator creamers, twi bowls of snacks, paper towels, dish soap and more. Bowls and placemat was provided fir our dog along with bath towels, poop bags and even treats. Beds were very comfortable. Shower was walk in. Couldn’t ask for more in a place to stay.

Mary Katherine is an excellent host and thought of everything we might need during our stay. The house is neat, clean, tastefully appointed and in a great location with quiet neighbors ( old cemetery across the street) We enjoyed walking around town and exploring the cemetery. Plenty of fun places to eat nearby too. We especially appreciated how dog friendly it was and the fenced area out back. Sparkling lights and funky cover plates were cool additions that brightened up our stay.

Cottage is conveniently located in a quiet area. I loved that the hosts left us water, snacks, coffee, etc. Very nice touch! Cottage was very clean, nice towels too!

Wonderful cottage! Tastefully decorated with local artist items, clean & modern home. The fairy lights in the back were great for a relaxing evening outside. The inside maintained a cooler temp despite the 95F temps outside, beds were comfy and kitchen was stocked with all the items I use at my home to bake and cook. Location is also great: short walk to downtown & local grocery store. I would definately stay here again.

the home was perfect for my needs. It was neat, clean and convenient. The only challenge was VRBO for a same day booking plus the inclusion of a property damage charge I have never experienced before with VRBO. The property owner however went over and beyond to overcome the hurdle VRBO created. Kudos to the owner.

My best friend and I decided to try the tarpon fishing in the area and needed a place to stay for a couple of nights. I chose this property and could not be happier. The property was a delight, comfortable and plenty roomy for our needs. The hostess was a delight to deal with and we had no issues during our stay. Check in and check out was seamless! I am planning on rebooking when I return to the area!

This home was an absolute gem! We loved the convenient location—just a short walk to downtown—which made getting around so easy. June 23rd - 27th, 2025. Had a great time in this great little (very clean) cottage. Every thing you need for you and your pups. Shopping, eating, history, all in walking distance. Nice dog friendly dog beaches are a short drive away. Mary Catherine is a great host. Definitely recommend this cozy cottage..

Our stay at the cottage did not disappoint. The listing was accurate, the cost was very reasonable, and the owners were very attentive to our needs. Its location is convenient to the shops and restaurants downtown, and there are pharmacies and a grocery store within walking distance should you need them. We plan to make this property our home away from home when visiting Apalachicola.

This is our third year staying at Glance at the Past for the Apalachicola home and garden tour. This cottage is charming, well-appointed, comfortable, and perfectly located. We will definitely be back next year.

Great little two bedroom/2 bath home- no close neighbors- all amenities- close to grocery store- and downtown beautiful yard out back with lounging chaises. Very comfortable…

Daphne was a great host, and the property is excellent. The neighborhood is quiet, but it is an easy walk or bike to both downtown Apalachicola, the grocery store, Lafayette Park, and several other points of interest. Both the house and backyard are spacious and well equipped. Would definitely stay here again.

We walked everywhere as this location was ideal. Very comfortable property and delightful hostess. Made several purchases at her gallery. We so enjoyed sittingin the yard or on the porch.

This place is just perfect. I'd be back in a heartbeat.

This darling, well renovated cottage was our perfect get away! Close to downtown and in a quiet neighborhood. It was perfect for me, my husband and our dog. Beautiful artwork and a lovely workshop that Daphne shared with me!

We were away for 8 weeks and this was our final destination before heading home. It was also the best destination, adorable cottage and relaxing time! Daphne’s cottage was perfection all around. The artwork, the fenced in back yard, colorful dishes..truly all the comforts of home. Beds super comfy! The location was so close to everything, so many dining options, beautiful galleries and all dog friendly! I hope we can make this a destination vacation in the future!

The property was wonderful. The location to places of interest, boutique shops, great restaurants, grocery store, gas … everything you might need or want was 2 blocks away. The host was gracious, knowledgeable of the area & very helpful. We will stay here again without hesitation & recommend it to friends…Perfect!!!

We loved our stay at this VRBO in Apalachicola. It was very comfortable, warm, cozy, and dog friendly. We enjoyed the closeness to town and the privacy of the backyard. The beds and baths were clean and comfortable and the kitchen was stocked with everything necessary to prepare a light lunch or a full dinner.Daphne was super responsive to all questions and made us feel right at home. We would definitely stay again!!

We enjoyed our stay at this adorable small cottage. Daphne was very accommodating and so sweet! It’s the perfect place to stay for any occasion or any time of year. The back yard was extremely convenient for our fur babies!! Not to mention, the house was extremely clean, and stocked with everything you could need!! Will definitely be back.

The cottage is very well designed, very comfortable. We walked to town, did not need the car. The piggly wiggly and CVS are very close. The garden is enclosed so my dog could not get out.Dapne is very nice and helpful. Our stay was wonderful.

Super comfy & clean cottage. Recent first-class renovation. Short 10-minute walk to downtown Apalachicola. Small fenced back yard for the pup. Even better than the description on VRBO.

This cottage was extremely clean, comfortable and well furnished. I cannot think of anything we could have needed that was not provided. We felt at home the minute we walked through the door and look forward to staying there on our next visit to Apalachicola.
