Classic Lakeside Cottage, Prime Location-Across from Hoover Auditorium

Location was wonderful.

We had yet another wonderful year at Camp Scheerer! They made wonderful improvements to the kitchen that made the stay even that much more pleasant. Thanks again, Kathy and Mike!

This is such a cute little cottage super close to all the action! Just a short walk one block over to the center of Lakeside; shops, restaurants, shuffle board, pier, etc. The beds were all comfy and the house was super clean!!!

The Location was good because we could walk everywhere. Nice backyard with ample space for family games and gathering. The house was clean and tidy upon our arrival. The kitchen lacks counter space and ample prep area. We struggled to prepare meals for our family.

Great location, comfortable beds and couches and good air conditioning. Its cozy but thats what you expect at lakeside!

Very quaint cottage in a great location. We could walk to the pool in one direction and to the lake in the other. Room air conditioners worked well as it was very hot! The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was equipped with everything we needed.

The property is very well maintained and each year we stay there, they have done something to enhance it. They also respond very quickly.One of the AC units in a bedroom was not working properly so they got a new one within a day and brought it to the property because they knew it was supposed to get hot.

Fantastic stay with extended family…..literally steps to downtown, Hoover auditorium, shuffleboard, mini golf, park and pier. Had a golf cart but didn’t really need it other than joy rides. Loved the place…..can fit a lot of people despite the smaller square footage. Would stay there again for sure. Fantastic place!

My family and I had a wonderful stay at Kathy’s cottage! The front porch was great, and the location made everything very walkable, even for little toddler legs!

We had yet another wonderful week at Kathy and Mike’s property! This is our 5th time coming to their home for our annual stay at Lakeside. Despite having a family of 9, we are always very comfortable and have plenty of space to eat and stay! The walk to the lake is easy and quick. We’ll be back next year!

Kathy’s home was quintessential Lakeside. Lovely charm, beautiful artwork, standard bedroom setup. Great location close to downtown and a stones throw from the Hoover. Kathy was easy to communicate with and flexible with check-in date. We’d love to stay here again in the future.

The accommodations were exactly as described and the cottage is in a lovely location right next to all the action! If you’re traveling with babies and toddlers I’d highly recommend this spot. The interior bedroom helpful since you don’t need black out curtains. Also, it’s so close to the waterfront/downtown that it’s a quick walk home if you forget anything or need to come back home for naps. We were able to enjoy a few concerts from the front porch, which was also nice for when the kiddos went down for bed. I’d highly recommend a stay at Kathy & Michael’s lovely place! Nothing beats a Lakeside summer!

We had a great week at Lakeside in this classic cottage. It was a perfect place to stay and an ideal place to gather.

If you have ever been to Lakeside, you are accustom to the old, shabby chic, lakeside cottage and this is exactly that. Pros: Early check-in and location! The owners were easy to communicate with and responded promptly with my questions before our arrival. Cons: Empty propane tank that we didn’t realize was empty until after we purchased an entire meal to grill that we then had to change :( The sofas were incredibly dirty and stained, half of the family members wouldn’t even sit on them. We understand that Lakeside cottages aren’t “posh” but sofas that haven’t been cleaned since 1992 isn’t acceptable.

We had a great time! This cottage had a great amount of space and several sleeping spaces! Great for a wide range of guests from families to friends groups! Thank you for a great time!

The property served my family and I perfectly. The porch was a favorite place to sit and relax. An added bonus is being right across from Hoover and enjoying the music and shows so close. The location is perfect and host was very kind and a great communicator.

The house was clean and as described in the pictures. The central location gave us easy access to shops and restaurants and the park and God's Squad, as well as the pool and pickleball courts. We found everything we needed in the kitchen and the refridgerator was in excellent condition. There is no ice maker, but there were plenty of ice trays and they froze quickly. The kitchen is small, but the space is used well. The window air conditioners all worked very well, despite extremely high temperatures outside. In the barn behind the house, we found beach and sand toys and chairs for the kids, which was so nice! We spent a lot of time in the backyard on the patio in the evenings. We actually never turned on the TV, but it's a nice, flat screen TV. There were plenty of paper products and the instructions left for us were easy to read and follow. The only downsides were that we did not have enough chairs for us all (6 adults and 3 kids) to sit at the table and the beds are true double beds (smaller than a queen) and are very worn. We felt like we were sleeping in hammocks and all had achy backs after a few days. Our first trip to Lakeside was a hit with our entire family, and we hope to come back again!

My family enjoyed our stay in this beautiful cottage. Not easy to find 5 bedrooms that suits our family needs but this cottage is perfect. The location is so convenient to everything that we love; shopping, coffee shop, donuts, ice cream, shuffleboard, and miniature golf, not to mention the beautiful sunsets. Defintely 5 stars.
