This charming, sunny, wonderfully located, family-friendly beach house is located in the desirable, peaceful Wenaumet Bluffs/Pocasset River area. It's just a block from a sandy, private association beach that fronts on beautiful Buzzards Bay. It's a convenient base from which to explore all that Cape Cod and the Islands have to offer: biking, hiking, shopping, fishing, boating and dining. And it's also a perfect place to simply unwind and create new memories with your family and friends.>
This is a perfect home for a family vacation. It sleeps eight upstairs, and is just a short walk away from a private association beach, boating and other recreational activities.

The first floor features an open floor plan that brings people together. The large modern kitchen features granite countertops and a counter seating area; it's fully equipped for everything from baking to oyster shucking to lobster fixings. The adjacent dining area has a large table that seats eight people comfortably. The living room includes a work-from-home area and a 55” Smart TV featuring Netflix and other premium streaming services. Living room seating includes a large couch and a facing futon. A half-bath and laundry area complete the inside portion of the first floor.

The expansive outdoor wrapround porch adds considerably to the overall space. It has three distinct areas, each with ample seating: a centrally located area with comfy outdoor furniture; a secluded area with a table for those who need to work or want to chill; and a large open area with a table for basking in the sun and hosting evening dinners. The porch exits can be closed off to allow pets and young children to roam freely.

The second floor has four bedrooms plus a full bathroom with a shower stall. The diversity of the bedrooms allows for a flexible approach to sleeping arrangements. The master bedroom features a king-sized bed with a large bureau and a hanging closet. Two other bedrooms have queen/full size beds, while the fourth bedroom has two twin beds and a pack-n-play crib. A lockable gate is available for the top of the stairway.

The private outdoor shower on the ground level provides a refreshing rinse-off after enjoying a swim in the ocean.

Guests are welcome to use inflatable beach toys, beach chairs, games, puzzles, books, and bikes.

Peak season rental periods (June, July & August) are rarely available but are generally seven days, from Thursday 4 p.m. to Thursday 10 a.m. This avoids the weekend traffic nightmare and allows for an interrupted weekend.

In cooler weather, the house has natural gas heat on the first floor.

I seldom write reviews but wanted to specifically acknowledge Chuck Goodrich, the owner of this property. Upon arrival, we discovered that the downstairs air conditioning unit was not working properly. I sent a note to let him know about the problem. Without having to go into lots of details, let me say that we had a new unit the next morning and many apologies for the inconvenience as well as a day’s discount on our rental fees. We really appreciated his concern for us. The property is a classic, older Cape Cod beach cottage with a spacious wrap-around porch, only a few minutes walk from a small association beach. The neighborhood is quiet. Lots of multigenerational families like us.The house and porch offered our family of six adults, a toddler and a baby plenty of space to relax in and enjoy some together time. We especially liked having the comfortable dining area where our family could all sit together for meals and game playing. The different bed configurations in the four bedrooms worked well for our needs. The kitchen is great—large, modern and well-stocked. We really appreciated all the paper products, bottled water, coffee pods and other supplies that were provided. For our schedule, the rental arrangement of Thursday to Thursday was perfect. We had a full weekend on the Cape and avoided having to drive in the horrible Saturday traffic. All in all we enjoyed our stay and would return the next time we are looking for a place stay on the Cape.
