Beautiful little cottage in Portobello, clean and tidy, wonderful, thoughtful host, close to shops, friendly visits by pets, overall: all pros and no cons. Also the bus stop's very close by, always handy due to me not driving. Will return ASAP.

Lovely little cottage in a great peaceful location. Could do with some maintenance front steps are very uneven and tricky for my husband with a knee injury. Gate does not open fully so hard to get through with the luggage. Not sure the heat pump is working very well.

Griller needed cleaning and shower slow to drain. Café, pub, general store and petrol pump nearby. Only 12kms from albatross colony well worth a visit.

Great for those looking for a short stay and eating and spending most of the day outside. It is on the smaller side with a very narrow bathroom so be aware if you are a stockier build like we were.

Loved this little cottage, across the road from the bay and near small town.

The bathroom was clean in general but there were cobwebs and mold present. The carpet was stained, dirty and not vacuumed. There was left over garbage from previous guests that had not been removed. We covered the food rack of the toaster oven in tin foil as the toaster oven was disgusting and covered in old grease and food. We had to wipe out the fridge to remove crumbs and spilled liquid within it. The dishcloths were filthy and had rips and holes in them. The towels were obviously not washed for there was caked on something on them so we used our own towels that luckily we had. The only soap to wash our hands was a sliver of an old previously used bar of soap left in the bathroom. The Book-a-bach space said spice and a BBQ would be provided. There was no BBQ and there was only a few old restaurant salt packets stuffed into a drawer. We booked this place based on the excellent reviews but am at a loss as to why our experience was so bad. There were also other issues, to many to mention. We are seasoned travellers and have never encountered the reviews being so out of sync with what we thought we were getting. We would not recommend this place.

My daughter who's 19 and I started and it was perfect size for the two of us. Cosy , quiet, lovely decorated with the sea theme . Convenient location to store and visit penguins. , i would have liked to use the seats outside in garden if better weather although they were a bit weathered . Enjoyed the family dogs visits t say hello. Yes I would recommend.and stay again.

Quaint and Quirky This little cottage has a charm all its own. The setting was unique and beautiful. Situated close enough for a leisurely walk into portobello for coffee yet far enough to take advantage of the peaceful surroundings.

A quaint little cottage in Portobello, well placed for visiting the albatross, little penguins and other wildlife attractions. We enjoyed eating at the local cafe and restaurant. There had been a significant amount of rain prior to our visit and the property was a bit damp, but there was a wall heater and electric blanket which helped dry things out, and Jamie offered to change the bedding.
