Stayed Sep 21, 2018So nice to get away from the city at night. George was highly responsive and Eli was great, he even drive down the hill to get us at midnight when our taxi driver couldn't find the house. Bathrooms could use a little updating, but over all clean. Stunning views!

Stayed Feb 3, 2018We stayed here for 1 month Feb, 2018, great place as we had a lot of family come at various times. A few quirks, but nothing serious. It was a bit windy and cooler so bring pants and a sweatshirt. Also get George to explain how to manually get out of the gate in case of a power outage (we only had one for about 2 hours while we were there). Having a rental car was a necessity or Uber was also great!

Stayed Jun 3, 2017We had such an amazing time, we loved the fireplace, the fact that my family was able to visit back and forth, and the privacy. Our children 3 and 6 loved going around , playing with mud and enjoying the differen bugs and flowers and transportation was no obstacle, can always count on uber. Lookin forward to going down there and visitng my family, hopefully it will be availble for our next trip.

Stayed Mar 31, 2017This house is nestled into the mountain side above Escazu. The grounds are amazing -- a gated drive (with a switch-back curve!) leading to an acre or two or land sloping off steeply on two sides, with views of San Jose below and green mountain tops above. I identified several species of sparrow, wren, tanager and hawk while sitting on the porch with my coffee. The house itself is modest, but clean and well-maintained. The owner happened to be on-site in an adjacent cottage most of the week, and caught us once or twice over the course of the week as we were getting in our car just to check in with us. (Speaking of which, I wouldn't think of renting this property without a car. It's a ten-minute drive - steeply uphill - from Escazu, and even local cab drivers may have trouble finding it. Thankfully, Google maps worked flawlessly.) We enjoyed the house's wifi. Internet access dropped every other day for 10 or 20 minutes, but I suspect this is normal for Costa Rica Internet Service Providers. We didn't use the fireplace, but loved opening the sliding doors in the dining room to turn the wrap-around patio into extra living space.

Stayed Jan 14, 2017If you find yourself needing accommodation in Escazu this place is excellent. The house is lovely, with 2 large bedrooms, and two full bathrooms, a large living/dining area, and a well equipped kitchen. The grounds are fairly expansive and include fantastic views of the central valley. There is a large fireplace in the living room which I really enjoyed. The owner and property manager were both extremely friendly and made arrival-departure easy. I will likely stay here again since I have business in Escazu. The only *slight* downsides are that the house is pretty high up the mountain, thus getting from other locations back to the house takes a little longer, and requires going up some steep (paved) roads. However, this also affords the lovely views and relative quiet compared to being lower down. It does get cool at night, and I suppose if you are very cold sensitive and don't pack any warm clothes this might be a small issue, however there are plenty of blankets, and the big fireplace.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We stayed at Robin's Nest cottage from August 10 till 13, and we truly enjoyed it!!! The description of the property is accurate, the caretakers are super nice and the view of the Central Valley is spectacular!! This place is very welcoming, warm and cozy! Close to Escazy shopping areas and San José without having to drive a car. Perfect as a home base for extended trips to Costa Rica Thanks Eli y Sandra!!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969My husband and I stayed at Robin's Nest for two weeks. It is a serene place up in the mountains overlooking the San Jose valley. The view over downtown San Jose and the northern mountains is spectacular and the cool breezes are refreshing. Enjoy your coffee with the morning sunrise. The cottage could use some upgrades: bedding, door screens, shower heads. Our favorite restaurant was right up the street at Tiquicia, with great food and spectacular night time views of the city.
