Numerous fine restaurants are within a short drive. These include famous hamburg joints to really upscale places like the Cliff House. I keep a number of menus of places I recommend in a folder in the cottage. History: This cottage was purchased by my great grandfather back in the 1930's. It has been a family treasure ever since. My family and I use it when it is not rented out. It is the most beautiful spot in Maine! Most other coastal property has been renovated with large houses and mansions since the price of the property is so very expensive. This is one of the few small original cottages left in the area. It has all the charm! Notice from the coastal view that it has a comparatively large frontage affording a lot of privacy. The tidal pools in front are a joy to anyone under 12 years old - and an equal joy for you to share with the youngster! We hope that you enjoy your stay at this property as much as we do.
Fantastic cottage on ocean. Excellent location. Walking distance to a beach. Directly on ocean/ rocky coast. Its a quaint cottage that has everything you need for a perfect maine vacation. Truly a special place We cant wait to come back!!
Thoroughly enjoyable stay, view is brilliant, we loved every minute. Only feedback would be a hammock or chaise would be lovely to lounge in outside, and a pullout sofa could help with family visits because beds are a little cozy. But overall a superb stay!
We were delighted with the property which was fully stocked and would return again - thank you Bruce for a wonderful experience!!
My wife and I had a wonderful week at this cottage. The property is exactly as advertised and the owner was a pleasure to communicate with. We really enjoyed having our breakfast each morning on the deck while taking in the amazing view. The location was very convenient to both York Beach and Ogunquit when we wanted to venture out. And by the way, there was nothing better then listening to the ocean as we fell asleep. Can't wait to go back again.
Pros - older house but location is key - private beach next to RV park was 1000x better than expected - owner allowed dogs but sadly this was the last year, so our pups could enjoy a getaway - house was well stocked with essentials that we only needed to really purchase our food for the week Cons - RV site was a bit louder than expected - unsure if it was due to some weather change but the house was a bit infested with earwigs, which are harmless but it was overwhelming that they were everywhere. Other than that, I would definitely rent again with my family.
It was as advertised. Great view and it had a good location.
Cottage was great. Large living area with beautiful view! Spent most of our time relaxing and entertaining on front deck. Went to local beaches twice, but was very content to stay right at cottage. WIFI worked great and it was nice at the end of the day go inside and watch the ball game. Thanks Bruce and Meg . Hope to be back.
Had a great time even if the weather wasn't the best , the view made up for that . Love the York area, have been coming up for a very long time. I would come back to the Antique Cottage again, Wonderful place with lots of history . Thanks you so much ! Bruce and Meg
We felt comfortable from the moment we walked in. Cozy and comfortable, with many little extras. Comfortable beds, living room seating, and great kitchen. Homegrown tomatoes on vines right outside the door, and blueberry bushes brimming with the largest berries we'd ever seen. Beautiful view of the tide coming in, right from the porch. Very close to York beaches, Nubble Lighthouse and only a 45 minute ride up I-95 to Fortunes Rocks beach where family was staying the same week. I'd highly recommend this cottage for a very nice beach vacation.
We have stayed at this wonderful rustic cottage for 4 years now. It was our luckiest find ever. The cottage looks out over a cove where the vista includes 2 lighthouses. You can go to sleep and wake up with the sound of the ocean. Our time there has been the most peaceful and restful vacations we have ever had. We go in, unpack and mostly never see another soul for the entire time, except for the occasional lobsterboat. If you want to eat out, there are several fine restaurants nearby. The cottage is always clean and we have even brought our cats twice. And the landlords are very easy to work with. If you want a getaway where you can relax and spend endless hours reading and gazing out on the ocean, this is the place.
