Turn-of-the-century cottage situated directly on Maine coast waterfront in a secluded clearing. Enjoy evenings on the deck listening to waves lap the shore and watching the sun setting over the Atlantic Ocean with Mt. Washington in the background. The location on the western side of a peninsula permits this unique and wonderful perspective. The size and sleeping configuration make this cozy property ideal for one person or a couple. Modern technology comforts with high speed Wi-Fi Internet and Roku with unlimited Netflix. We do NOT have cable TV service, only Roku with unlimited Netflix.

Neighborhood: The cottage is located in a small neighborhood of approximately 15 summer dwellings. These cottages are located at the end of a one mile dirt road through undeveloped forest. So, the area is very quiet with virtually no traffic. There are neighbors on three sides, each approximately 100 feet away. The cottage is situated immediately on the oceanfront and enjoys direct beach access. The beach is rocky, not sandy, so it is not ideal for swimming, though it is well-suited for walks along the shore at low tide. The Atlantic Ocean in Maine is cold, reaching only about 55 degrees Fahrenheit in the summer.

We really enjoyed this cottage. It is small, but big enough for one couple, very comfortable and cozy, and had everything we needed. It has a wonderful view of the bay from the deck and is very secluded and quiet (except for the acorns raining on the roof, which was kind of fun.) The host was very helpful and accommodating.

Lovely cottage. Great for 2 people. Everything you need is there. We had a small problem and David was on it immediately. Best is drinks on the porch watching the sunset.

My sister and I rented this cottage with our two ten year old daughters. We loved every minute of this peaceful retreat. David was an excellent host. We swam, kayaked and enjoyed exploring around Harpswell. I hope we can make it back!

Delightful, comfortable waterfront cabin with homey touches. Feels like the way I've always dreamed a family cabin would. Comfortable spaces, updated bathroom, sunny kitchen - just great!

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at this scenic hideaway for vacation. The sunsets are amazing. As well, the lobster man is just down the street (Allen's seafood). The cottage is close to Portland and Boothbay Harbor for day trips. Otherwise, we just enjoyed sitting out and reading a good book ... with daily fresh seafood for healthy eating. Highly recommend.

Just like Richard B. my husband and I are from New York and have been coming here for many years. Our routine remains the same. We stop in Hannaford in Brunswick for food and supplies and hurry down the road to settle into the cottage. Once the bed is made and the food is in the frig, we grab our wine and head out to the deck for the show! The sunsets are spectacular and we have the best view in the area. No need for anything more. TV, games and books are all supplied and if you are lucky like us, you will experience a storm full of lightning and thunder. It's very rare we get one, but the light show is wonderful. David has kept the cottage perfect for two people. We even hosted our daughter and granddaughter one year and they loved it. Best place to stay of all our travels!!

This cabin is not for the run of the mill party group........After working hard at your job all week you will find the peace your looking for sitting on the back deck or hunting sea glass on the beach. I have been renting this cabin for the last 10 years in September. The lobster man is right around the corner and I've turned into a Lobster snob! I live in New York and have found my side of heaven every year for one week staying at The cabin. The owner is very nice, also great to work with if there are any problems. (none since I've stayed there) The interior brings me back to Maine 1905.........But with a TV and DVDs. If you stay here........Just respect your neighbors and the property and peace be with you. ENJOY!!!!
