Stayed Jun 16, 2025Charming cottage was the perfect mountain escape for our family and furbaby. The cottage was beautiful, and warm. It was all fenced off and we had our own little secret garden. Govett's leap was just down the road. The village centre was also nearby which had a bakery, book store, antique stores, grocery outlets and a few cafes and restaurants. Our toddler loved the massive rocket park (also nearby). Overall, a great family stay.

Stayed Nov 17, 2025It was a beautiful stay! We loved the house and the beautiful garden. The very small downside was that we couldn't open any windows! But we will definitely be back! We loved it!

Stayed Oct 11, 2025Pet friendly, reasonably clean, plenty of room for 5 adults. But Could do with extra lounge seating. Beds clean and comfortable, central heating was great. Kitchen was well stocked with appliances and cutlery

Stayed Oct 8, 2025We had a perfect Spring weekend at this lovely Blackheath cottage. Everything was thoughtfully arranged with comfortable beds and a dining table for family meals. The garden and outdoor fireplace was a real highlight.

Stayed Jan 25, 2025Easy walk to town, easy walk to trails and also a wonderful house to just while away a rainy day inside looking out at the garden. Plenty of room for kids or in our case our dog, to run about and have mini adventures in the fenced yard. Perfect..

Stayed Jan 6, 2025Our stay was incredibly disappointing and frustrating. The house was advertised as having a hot tub (this has now been removed by the host on the ad) and enough seating for four guests, but upon arrival, we found that the hot tub was missing, and the comfortable couch from the listing had been replaced with two uncomfortable dining chairs. To make matters worse, the two-seater and one-seater couches were filthy and clearly hadn’t been cleaned in ages.We were also really looking forward to using the BBQ, but it was in a disgustingly dirty condition. The fire pit in the garden was neglected, full of debris, and completely unusable. Given that it was a cold, rainy day, we were hoping to cozy up by the fireplace in the living room. However, we were told it’s only available during the winter months, even though the listing didn’t mention any restrictions about seasonality. We reached out to the host asking for a refund, especially since the missing hot tub was a major factor in our decision to book, but our request was unfortunately declined. The host suggested that we check out by 6 PM (this was at 3 PM) to receive a full refund for the second night. However, with such short notice, it was impossible for us to secure alternative accommodation in just three hours. The lack of attention to cleanliness and the misleading listing was incredibly disappointing, especially given the price we paid. We would not recommend this place to anyone—it's a far cry from what was promised.

Stayed Aug 18, 2024Fantastic home - true to listing. 2 large, fenced areas for puppy to explore with fences that went down to ground and were high enough to keep our bouncy Iggy safe. Beautiful garden areas and outdoor firepit. Indoor fire draws beautifully. Double glazing and good heating/air-conditioner. Spacious rooms and SMEG kitchen appliances. Laundry in shed out back well equipped. We took a folding dog pen for use inside as well. Beautiful experience.
