Since there hasn't been a review for a while, I wanted to provide one for our end of September stay. It is a lovely historical home, with great front and back porches, and is within walking distance to everything downtown Wilmington offers. The house was very clean inside, dogs are allowed, and the host was quick to respond when we had an issue finding the wifi code. Parking is on the street, but we didn't have an issue parking in front of or close to our house. However, the house is in need of some maintenance. and the condition doesn't quite match the photos in the listing. In particular, the front yard is overgrown with weeds, rocks, and branches, and multiple items shown in photos are missing. The heavy iron gate, while beautiful, has an issue making it extremely hard to open and close, and some basic items, like kitchen towels, dishcloths, and bathmats, are needed. Hopefully these will be addressed since it's a great little house that puts you close to everything you want to do downtown.
This was our second time visiting Wilmington. We selected this property party because of its closeness to the downtown area and it did not disappoint! It was so easy to get to the boardwalk and downtown restaurants and bars. The property had everything we needed for our stay, including visitor guides and suggestions on where to go. The check-in process was super easy as well. I would recommend thus property to anyone looking to spend time in the Wilmington area.
We fell in love with this charming historic cottage in Wilmington. The place has every convenience needed while maintaining the beautiful old character. The location is close enough to walk to everything. Our favorite restaurant from our visit is just a few minutes walk up Castle. The best part of the space was the back porch. We enjoyed sitting out there whenever we were just relaxing at the property. The best part of was that we were able to bring our pups on our special 25th anniversary getaway. Thank you!!!
Good location. Nice upgrades. Enjoyed our stay.
When we travel with our dog, the options can be limited. I like to be able to park my car and walk to restaurants, etc. This was perfect for both. The yard was tiny, but we had a yard and a nice screened in porch on the back that was quiet and cool. We were a 15 walk to all the restaurants on Front Street and it was a beautiful walk past all the grand renovated houses. It even smelled wonderful with all the honeysuckle in bloom. There are so many restaurants downtown, there is absolutely something for everyone. We would definitely stay here again. Delaney was easy to get in touch with and the minor issues we had, were minor. She’s very responsive and even left us treats.
A great place for a couple's weekend get-a-way! Historic, cozy, comfortable, unique way to enjoy Wilmington, N.C. We will stay here again when we return to Wilmington. Delaney is a fabulous host!
On a recent trip to the NC beaches we decided on a spontaneous 2 days/ one night stay in Wilmington and were lucky enough to find Delaney’s house. It is a super clean, beautifully renovated and tastefully furnished historic home within walking distance to downtown Wilmington. We were 2 parents and an almost teenager and between the 2 sofas on the veranda and the house there was more than enough room so we didn’t kill each other. The kitchen is well stocked but there’s an abundance of great restaurants and coffee shops nearby, you may not want/ need to cook. Communication with Delaney was extremely easy, she did everything she could to accommodate our funky schedule. When asked she even knew all the places you need to see if you’re a Dawson’s Creek addict. We will definitely return should this jewel ever have open dates again.
we had to leave early due to a family emergency. Tough to rate. Place was neat and clean
This was such a cute place and was in a perfect location in downtown Wilmington. We loved the screened in porch and we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. Delaney was so awesome and quickly responded to all my questions. I highly recommend this rental and would definitely stay here again if I’m ever back in the area.
