Charming Historic Cottage 3 minutes to city centre

I never write reviews but was so delighted with my stay here that I have to. The cottage was beautiful, well-appointed, quiet and spotlessly clean. The host Jeanette was incredibly helpful and efficient, and we had a really lovely peaceful stay here. Thank you - I will be back if I'm in town again.

Had a wonderful stay at Dillon Cottage in a beautiful street full of history. The access to the city centre was perfect and we could easily walk into town, come home for a cup of tea and rest, then walk back for dinner later. Thank you Jeanette for your easy and prompt communication. The cottage is highly recommended.

Amenities were perfect. And so close to city and restaurants.

We were welcomed to this delightful cottage and enjoyed delightful treats like home made jam and marmalade. It is close to everything in central Nelson and could not have asked for more.

A gorgeous cottage with lovely rooms and private garden space. Easy walk around town and the cathedral. Owner was very kind when our route to Nelson was blocked re trees fallen.

The property was in excellent condition, a quiet enjoyable location, and within easy walking distance of the city center.

The epitome of Nelson hospitality. There was not one aspect of our stay that did not surpass our greatest of great expectations. Jeanette is the living embodiment of the hostess with the mostess.

Close to many restaurants and takeaways in walking distance. Lovely historic street with friendly neighbours and a couple of cute cats. Comfy beds and couch. Well equipped kitchen, washing machine and clothes line. A home away from home and great to be in a cottage instead of a hotel room. We loved it!

I love staying here so warm and close to town. We will be back!

We had a cosy and comfortable two nights at the South Street cottage. The location is central yet quiet. We would definitely love to stay there again.

Dillon Cottage is one of the historic cottages in South St, Nelson. It has been meticulously maintained and updated with everything needed for a short stay. We loved the location - walking distance to town, and the parking permit was a bonus. The house was spotlessly clean and our bed was perfectly comfortable.

So cosy and inviting with many lovely touches and thoughtful pantry items.Loved it al.

The Dillon House was a cottage that I instantly feel in love with, the little picket fence welcoming as I opened the gate. I stepped inside and it felt as if I had stepped back in a time when everything was quiet and filled with wild flowers. The house had been renovated but the historical features were enhanced and every modern convenience supplied. In the kitchen a range-hood sat elegantly, opposite the electric oven, guess what was the more magnificent. The lounge, dining room was spacious and so enviting. We couldnt find a TV at first which was no problem, however, that lovely picture in fact turned into the TV, clever. The first thing my husband greeted me saying in the morning was Lovely bed,ow so comfy! so that was a five star to start. Our little dog Kobo loved her holiday at the cottage, spending time smelling the flowers and looking out the picket fence. Thank you for providing this special place, 10 out of 10 would not be enough.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay in Dillon Cottage. From our check in with the furry butler, to when we left, we thoroughly enjoyed the cottage.Everything we needed was there and Jeanette was a brilliant host.

This was not only a wonderful place to stay but a wonderful location!

If you enjoy historic homes then you need to stay here. The house was very comfortable and well appointed, the residents went out of their way to be helpful and there are three very nice kitties on the street who made our stay complete.

We couldn't have asked for a more lovely place to stay. The cottage was charming, clean, well-equipped and very comfortable. Jeanette was super friendly and helpful and we enjoyed meeting her on our way out. I highly recommend this VRBO and Nelson as a wonderful place to visit. The location of this cottage is just a few blocks from the city centre. Rent it!!!

We stayed in the property for the last 2 nights and it was great to stay in a property with so much history! When we arrived, there was a tour group walking down the street, which of course prompted us to read all about the early history of the area. The property is within walking distance to everything in Nelson. We parked our car and walked everywhere. The property was clean and had everything that you could ask for. If you’re in the area, you must stay here!

I would give 6 stars if I could. Everything was perfect. Check in was very easy and it was always easy to reach the owner prior to check in. Super clean. Lots of space to relax after several days in small hotel rooms. such an easy walk to Hardy street with wonderful restaurants and shopping. Would definitely stay here again.rooms.

Spacious, good location with friendly host and friend living in the street. Comfortable bed and bonus to have spare room for bags and clothes. Negative: Towels smelt stale, some of the pans needed washing before use. Kitchen cupboards needed a good clean

Redec villa, 2 bedroom, comfy beds, good hot water and washing machine. Kitchen well resourced. Enjoyed air conditioning on hot summer days - made sleeping easier.

Dillon Cottage was the perfect spot for our home base while exploring the area. Spacious and cozy at the same time. Beautiful garden was so beautiful

We would recommend this property to anyone. Value for money was amazing and also being dog freidnly too made our stay even better having a great place for the whole family. Location was so superb too.

This is a lovely wee house right in the centre of Nelson. It’s on a very quiet street. The owner was very accommodating and pleasant to deal with we had a great time and will certainly want to return. Can’t recommend it highly enough

We spent 4 nights at this charming, historical cottage. It was more than the superb location, utterly charming and comfy cottage - it was the personal touches that made our stay so enjoyable. Fresh flowers and homemade jams were a lovely touch. Communicating with Jeanette was fast and easy. We highly recommend this cottage and we will return !!
