Wonderful hiking is just 1 mile away on Madison Run Trailhead in Shenandoah National Park. Visitors can either drive or walk to the trailhead. To get to the Madison Run Trailhead, you would turn left out of the driveway and then take another left when the road forks. The trail begins at the end of that road. You can just stay on the old fire road, which is so nice or take a small trail up the mountain.
Very nice house and well equipped. Loved tye stay. Recommend for anyone that wants a quite woodsy home that is close to the mountains, historical sites and numerous caven excursions.
My husband and I highly recommend this rental. The home is located in a quiet, beautiful area. There is a trail that goes into Shenandoah National Park less than a mile away. The home is extremely clean, well stocked, comfortable, and the owners included many extras that made us feel welcomed. If we are ever in the area again, we will definitely stay here if available.
We had an amazing time! Our stay was extremely quiet and peaceful. We had everything we needed and more with amenities. The cottage was very clean and well organized. We were fortunate to have deer and her fauns in front of her bedroom window in the mornings. My only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer! Host was very responsive. Looking forward to returning in the future.
Nice place for older friends to stay while visiting the Shenandoah area.
Had a great time and cant believe the value and serenity of this place. Keep up the good work!
I rented this cottage for my family who were coming in for my husband's 60th birthday party. The hosts, Karen, and her husband, we're very kind, accommodating and helpful. The cottage is absolutely delightful. It has three different balconies that overlook Madison Run, a gorgeous creek that comes right down from the mountains. The landscaping is absolutely gorgeous. The cottage is very cozy and comfortable. Karen provides all kinds of extras that make staying there just lovely, including a gift basket of snacks. The rooms are very comfortable including a king size bed, I queen size bed and a single bed. The bathroom is a lovely shower and tub combo with plenty of space too get gussied up for a party. My family and I would be very happy to avail ourselves of this cottage again and good when we need it. Five stars all around.
Everything was perfect and I highly recommend this rental!
