Stayed Feb 6, 2026Great communication from the hosts. Small but cute little cabin. Private yet right by the snowmobile trail and plenty of places to eat! Nice size yard for the doggy to play.

Stayed Jan 9, 2026Property was very clean and neat. We didn't need or use much of what the property offers except a place to rest at night. Only draw back we found was that the couch isn't very comfortable to sit and relax or watch tv on. It seems like it's more of a trundle bed with back cushions.

Stayed Oct 16, 2025Little cabin set back just off a busy highway so road noise cut into the 'relaxing vibe'. Light switches were odd - some didn't turn on anything. There wasn't a set of full bedding for the pullout couch - only a fitted sheet and pillowcases and one very small throw. Luckily I had a sleeping bag in my pack

Stayed Jul 14, 2025Charming lakeside cottage with great amenities and a perfect location.I stayed at this beautifully updated cottage on Bass Lake and truly enjoyed my time there. The cottage was clean, cozy, and thoughtfully furnished, with an open-concept layout that made it feel bright and welcoming. The location is fantastic — just steps from a sandy shoreline with kayaks and a firepit that made lake living relaxing and fun. It's in the heart of Sugar Camp, with easy access to Rhinelander and surrounding areas. The hosts were kind and professional. They are opening the Highland Cottage Café up from the cottage near the main road, offering hand-crafted drinks, baked goods, and even a couple of adorable miniature Highland cows — it’s going to be a great addition to the area!Highly recommend this peaceful Northwoods retreat.

Stayed Jul 4, 2025The cabin was nicely renovated and had everything we needed! It was nice that kayaks and paddle boards were provided so that we didn’t have to bring ours. It is is just a short little walk up the hill from the beach. We will definitely be coming back.

Stayed May 3, 2025It was peaceful overall, though there were a couple of odd elements. Host was excellent: accomodating, etc.
