Charming cosy cottage. Magnificent views 2 minutes walk to centre of Ambleside

Cragview is perfect for a cozy cottage experience with gorgeous views. In the mornings you’ll wake up to a view of the hills and breathe in crisp cool air. In the afternoon after a day of touring you can sit on the front porch and later enjoy evenings by the fireplace. The cottage is a quick walk to the bus stop with convenient friendly bus service and a few steps further to shops, grocery store and restaurants. The local Armitt museum has a great display about the local Roman fort. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Lovely cosy cottage, plenty of room for 2 adults and a dog. Was well placed just outside the town centre to be close enough to amenities but far enough to be quiet. The views from all rooms are stunning, and you can see Windermere from the top rooms. You really can leave your car there and go off and enjoy the walks, or use the buses to get around the Lakes easily. Highly recommend the Stock Ghyll Force cafe brownies after doing the walk from the cottage to the Falls. Found the sofa and chairs to be a little uncomfortable, and the known issues with the shower pressure was noticeable more if you had a shower in the morning than in the evening, and that's the reason for 4, rather than 5 stars, but having spoken to the owner, I know there are plans for a pump to be put in, which will solve that going forward. And that's me being really picky if honest. If you're looking for somewhere quiet to rest after a full day exploring the hills and lakes, you won't go far wrong by staying here.

The cottage was absolutely perfect, very near town, you can do a number of walks from the front door, or just stay in and look at the stunning views from the cottage. There are so many great local restaurants we didn’t have a chance to try them all. Would definitely recommend

Crag View cottage was absolutely lovely. Very convenient to all amenities and walks . Beautifully presented. I would highly recommend this property , we stayed 3 nights but wished we could have stayed longer . Thank you

Crag View is a lovely cottage located a short walk from downtown Ambleside. Cottage is perfect for a family or a solo visit. Great views, easy access and accommodating hosts. My son and I had a wonderful visit.

We coincided our visit with our daughter’s graduation at Lancaster University. It was the perfect location to spend a week walking the fells and to take a day into Lancaster. The cottage was perfect for everyone. Would love to return one day.

I can’t recommend this cottage enough. It was the perfect size for 2 adults, 2 children and a dog. It was very clean and had everything we needed for a 3 night stay. The views from the windows are amazing and it’s just a short walk into Ambleside. The Wi-Fi is great, there’s a smart TV as well which came in handy for a relaxing afternoon after a long walk. The beds are also very comfy. We will definitely be back.

We really enjoyed our time in this lovely home. We have spent a full week here and the owner gave us all the info needed to have a pleasant stay in this property. We enjoyed the fact we could make hikes right from here. Also Ambleside shops and restaurants are all within walking distance. We loved the area and we hope to come back to the lake district in the future.

Great location. Walking distance to everything in town and the lake. Spotlessly clean and comfortable, with all the necessary accesories and amenities. Brand new, wonderful, utility room.. I would definitely recommend this cottage for sightseeing, walking holidays or just chilling, as the views are to die for.
