Charming Artist's Retreat

This place was the perfect place for us to stay as we explored the Hudson Valley. Just absolutely ideal. Cozy, warm, perfectly appointed. We love Maureen! Beautiful cut flowers left for us in every room.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage was in a nice wooded area but close to town and other major attractions in the Saugerties area. It provided a nice outdoor patio area and three season porch for relaxing when we got back from a busy day. The cottage was nicely decorated with original art and very comfortable furnishings. The kitchen was set up with all the utensils we needed and the availability of a washer/dryer was a real plus. We found the cottage to be clean and well cared for. We definitely recommend it!

Cozy & comfortable! Charming cottage, lovely grounds. Away from it all, yet, convenient to hiking areas, waterfalls, the Hudson River, and good restaurants. Maureen, the host, was lovely.

Very close to everything we needed. Stunning views from the lookout. Gorgeous sunsets. The shower is amazing.

A delightful gem of a getaway. The home was immaculate and the host could not have been nicer. Checking in was seamless, and the little touches (flowers, linens, etc.) were thoughtful. I’d highly recommend it.

Lovely cottage in the woods. It was a very peaceful and relaxing place to come back to after a busy day. Maureen made sure everything was ready for us and was there for any of our needs.

This cottage is perfect! Clean and comfortable, with every amenity covered, with such lovely touches as fresh flowers and farm-fresh eggs! The highlight was the view from the overlook -- breathtaking in the late spring and probably every season! Maureen is a perfect host -- precise directions and instructions, and a level of thoughtfulness that goes above and beyond. I look forward to staying there again!

This super cozy cabin is perfectly located and close to major Catskills towns. Yet, Maureen has done an amazing job at creating a space that feels far away from every thing. Town and groceries are less than 10mins away. We visited Kingston and Woodstock - also nearby. The nearby trail options are endless too.This home is exemplar of what VRBO stands for. Enjoyed our stay!

This is a beautiful property that will relax you immediately. The views and simple solitude take effect the moment you walk in the door. Watch the stunning sunrise and end your day sitting outside watching the sunset. It doesn’t get any sweeter.

Escaped Long Island’s noise, traffic and overall stress . Listened to owls, watched birds soaring, kicked up leaves and gazed at the periwinkle colored mountains while perched on a bench. Felt safe enough knowing civilization was near enough, would have liked a landline phone just in case of an emergency

Another perfect stay.

The setting for the home was beautiful and peaceful. We loved that! We needed specific directions on how to get there because it is hidden. I would recommend not driving there in the dark. The house is old and unfortunately, it had been closed up for a few days I guess and it was musty when we entered; that wasn’t very inviting. We lit candles to help us with the smell. The owner is aware of this and I doubt if it will happen again because when it is fresh and clean, it’s delightful!!! The furnishings are quaint and sweet and add to the ambiance. The kitchen appliances and some dishes I feel needed replacing 😐 Overall, I’m glad we were in the midst of the color and fresh air😊

The cottage was everything we could have hoped for. It was cozy, but still had plenty of space for four adults. The property and surrounding views of the hills were beautiful. Such unique furniture and decor. We couldn't be happier with our stay.

We had a lovely time relaxing at Maureen’e cottage for the weekend. Sitting in the garden, taking in the mountain view, and listening to the surrounding wildlife was the perfect respite from hectic city life. As artists, we felt right at home among the artwork and vintage treasures around the house. We enjoyed a hearty breakfast at the Village Diner, and loved exploring the Saugerties Lighthouse Trail - only ten minutes away! Thank you Maureen for a wonderful stay. - Dave and Alie

Charming cabin with comfortable beds, interesting artwork and beautiful flowers and plants. It was a great central location for day trips to Hyde Park, Catskills mountains, and Lenox MA. Enjoyed watching the deer and the great view from the bench perch.

We found it so relaxing. We didn't want to leave to tour the area. We did make it out to the Saugerties Light House. Very nice.

A well-appointed and well-situated cabin that makes for a perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle. It is quiet and private, with a lovely spot for mountain sunsets and full of artistic charm on the inside. Very welcoming and easy interaction with the owner. Highly recommended for couples or small groups exploring the Hudson valley and the Catskills

We really enjoyed our stay at the Artist Retreat. Totally quiet and private. Beautiful grounds and very well kept. The cottage has everything you need as far as appliances and cookware. Many things to do nearby. North Lake is a great spot for hiking, check out the overlook! A quick ride to Saugerties and Kingston as well. We would highly recommend Artist Retreat to anyone visiting the area. Clean, comfortable, and quiet!

This was our second time visiting this great property. It is precisely as described- feels secluded yet not that far from Saugerties and Hudson and hiking and etc. The house is really comfortable - great light in the rooms, well appointed and furnished. Yard and views are superb. Thank you Maureen for two very relaxing and carefree weeks!

Beautiful hidden gem in catskills. Diane and I had 2 weeks of quiet bliss watching deer, grey fox, squirrels, chipmunks, groundhogs and a flock of wild turkeys in the back yard. Maureen made sure we had everything we needed and kept it clean weekly. Great host and we will definitely return for our yearly respite.
