Beautiful place. Very quiet. Pat was wonderful to work with. Hoping to visit again soon.

The place was awesome and lake views were amazing. Right on Water. Parking my boat trailer was alitlle challenging but amenities were what we wanted.

We will definitely return. Host was exceptionally accomodating. This could very well be the most relaxing week ever. The dock, availability of two kayaks, outstanding. The icing on the cake was the basket of ingredients to make smores.

Everything was super! Clean, quiet and comfortable. Beautiful views and surrounding mountains. If you have any physical limitations, you may not access the water quite so easily. Check to be sure water level is not down as ramp can be steep.

Beautiful place and great views. Cabin was very clean. Kayaks had broken seats so we couldn't use them. Driveway was super hard to back down. It needs to be graded to correct steep grade. There was room to turn around but they blocked off the space for no apparent reason. Had to reset the internet 3 times before the router worked. No cell service so be prepared with offline maps if you want to find anything.

Great vacation spot for a long weekend; cabin was clean, well stocked, and very cozy. Huge porch with great views, perfect for board games and reading books in the hammock. We will definitely be coming back!

Everything was just as we hoped. Very clean, well stocked, close to the water… Several extras provided, basket full of s’more fixings, popcorn popper for the fire pit, fire food, lots of water toys… Loved the lake theme decor! Very comfortable bed and pillows. Covered section of the dock a big plus. We want to come again!

This was my third stay at Catfish cottage, and I plan on returning next year. The owners have perfected all the amenities you will need to enjoy a relaxing, fun experience on Watauga Lake. The cottage and property are immaculate, and they worked extra hard this year after having survived Hurricane Helene. It’s a magical place for me, and anyone I invite always falls in love with it as well.

Kayaking, fishing, weather... all great. We really enjoyed our stay. Thank you for sharing your cabin with us.

Much needed peacefully beautiful setting. We where married on the lake and stayed here years back. The updated cottage is absolutely beautiful. Hopefully they will have us back.

Easy access and we enjoyed the dock - and jumped in the lake every day - inside was very clean and modern - in fact, it was much more updated then we thought! The AC worked amazingly as we had temps in the upper 90s for several days!

Perfect! Cabin clean, well maintained and well equipped. Great views with no crowds or distractions.

All the five star comments are true no complaints super clean awesome view. Everything was great. Couldn’t have been a more perfect place to stay.

We came to try walleye fishing on Watauga Lake, and to visit family in NC & TN.The cabin and private dock were wonderful. The driveway is very steep and small. The fishing was not good, possibly because Watauga Lake had lots of debris in it from Hurricane Helene, logs, trash, lumber, etc. It rained quite a bit also. The cabin was perfect, extremely clean and stocked. The hosts were wonderful.

From the moment we unpacked the porch was calling out me. My husband and I are from Vermont and it was a LONG drive. Miss Pat and George were so accommodating and friendly. Invited us to church social and gave us some pointers on local animal rescues. The Cabin is BY FAR THE BEST EQUIPPED VRBO rental we have Ever stayed at and we have stayed in a lot in 10 years. Miss Pat and George are simply amazing. Thank you so much for everything!!! L & D

10/10 ⭐️ Catfish Cottage was absolutely perfect for our weekend getaway with our dog. The cabin is nicely tucked away and so quiet and serene. Everything we needed was supplied within the cabin and the dock was perfect for laying lakeside and throwing toys for our dog to retrieve, the perk was the dog ramp! It was a game charger for helping him out. Pat was super responsive, provided great hospitality, and even had a bag of treats for our dog, as it was his birthday. Can’t recommend this cottage enough!

This is my second time staying at Catfish Cottage, and it won’t be my last. First of all, the location is heaven on Earth for lake lovers. Nestled in a not very busy cove, with a private dock, loaded with kayak gear and floats, it’s hard not to fall in love with this destination. A 30 minute kayak or canoe paddle takes you to where the Watauga River meets the lake, and there is something magical about that spot for me. The cabin itself is stocked better than any other vacation rental I’ve ever stayed. Pat really makes sure you have everything you might need. Sipping coffee on the porch, watching the birds and hummingbirds at their feeders, sipping coffee while you watch the fog roll off the water is the perfect start to the day. The fire pit by the water is perfect for making smores, and Pat always makes sure to supply them for you. I haven’t seen as much of the world as some people, but Catfish Cottage is my favorite place on Earth so far.

We stayed three nights. The cottage was great. It had everything that was advertised. A great quiet location with the private dock. We will come back again.
