Located half way up a hill on an agricultural property called Quinta de Gondomil, from where it takes its name, this house is set on the right bank of the river Douro, and has an extension of almost 200 metres facing it. It is a detached house with 2 bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen and a living room with a terrace which has a view over the Douro.

Stayed Sep 15, 2025Our host was helpful. It was great to have a swimming pool overlooking the Douro. The house has air conditioning which was good as the outside temp was over 30C! The kitchen has all equipment to prepare meals. We were glad my husband is a good driver on very curved roads!

Stayed Aug 17, 2024We spent a wonderful week in this lovely villa in August. Very well equipped and comfortable, and in a great location to explore the area - but note the roads are very windy and hilly so it can take a while to get places! The swimming pool is great with a fantastic view, and we enjoyed taking the kayaks out on the river. The owner Maria gave us some good tips on places to visit and made us very welcome. Thank you for your hospitality :)

Stayed Aug 13, 2024We had a wonderful stay at Casa de Gondomil. We checked in late, but that was no problem for the owners. We were warmly welcomed! The nature is beautiful, and from the balcony, you have a stunning view of the Douro! The pool is delightful. A great place for those who love peace and quiet, and an excellent base for trips to Porto and Peso da Régua. Highly recommended!

Stayed Sep 29, 2022This is a very proud family property, clean and in a beautiful location on the Douro River. The owners are cheerful and interactive and very helpful. We loved our stay here. We swam, helped pick grapes, and my husband even had the opportunity to stomp them to make family wine.
