Cayuga, New York
We are proud to offer a fabulous historic lake cottage on the
North Eastern shores of Cayuga Lake. It is a Saturday to Saturday weekly rental only.
It has been beautifully and lovingly restored and features all
knotty-pine walls and ceilings, hardwood floors, wrap around porch on 3 sides, and new kitchen appliances.
The cottage has two spacious floors:
On the first level is the kitchen and bathroom, as well as a living room-dining area with a full size sofa bed and a single sofa that has a 2nd pull out lower single bed. There is an angled stairway to go up to the bedroom loft. A slow step by step access. The second level is a large open floor plan loft-style bedroom that has cathedral ceilings and a private deck that overlooks the lake. Sit down, relax, and enjoy the beautiful sunsets or enjoy the view with your morning coffee. The open loft features hand-crafted wood furniture, including one double sized bed, a pair of twin sized bunk beds, and extra folding cot. FREE WI-Fi internet service.
Cottage also has a Hamilton Beech Flex brew maker ( K cups or ground coffee to brew ), blender, microwave, stainless steel utensils, dishes, glasses, pots & pans; etc.
All you need to bring are your own linens, pillows, towels, paper products, soaps and food. Water shoes are great, especially for children. We have life jackets for the row boat and canoe usage for our guests.
Bring your cell phone or use our phone # for emergency contact.
Enter water by a pool ladder at end of cottage dock or go for a ride in the row boat or canoe.
So rare to find a lake house with a decent yard! Enjoyed the dock and boats and fishing was great for most ... The loft is a climb but the house lacks nothing. Great week vacation.
Nice Historical Home with a host who is very nice and always by your side.
This was a good value for the price. I was looking to place to relax and unwind and that happened. The property is rustic. It is on a very fast moving road with trucks going by. Its not really safe to walk along the road. There is walking available a few minutes drive down the road in Cayuga at Harris Park. The host was helpful. The parking is very exact. Make sure you get specific instructions about where to park before you arrive. If you have trouble climbing a ladder, the top floor with a double bed will be very difficult to access.
Lovely rustic property, great views over lake, very peaceful.
We had a lovely time at the cabin. Swimming in the lake was really great, especially during the really hot summer days. The sunsets are really beautiful on the lake.
There are many positives to this property, and a couple of negatives, at least with our lifestyle. Positives include the owner (who lives in the house next door). What a delightful person to chat with. We loved the porch, all the chairs available to sit and enjoy the view, the access to a canoe, and the cottage itself. Everything that the owner could control we thouroughly enjoyed. The negative for us (living in rural PA) what the distance from the cottage to the road. The road is the major north-south route on the eastern side of the lake, and even though it was quiet at the cottage 85% of the time, trucks did use the road, and we all know how load some trucks can be. The evenings were very quiet. Early morning you could hear the road becoming more active. Overall a very positive experience. Our dog settled in very nicely and to sum - up the review, yes, we would stay there again.
Beautiful location. Fit our needs vacationing with our dog. Steps to upstairs too steep for us but staying downstairs worked for our needs.
We enjoyed our stay at Camp Onondaga. Everything was perfect! Anne Marie was a wonderful host:) would definitely book again!
We were looking for a simple home to enjoy the lake and outdoors and local Finger Lakes offerings. The home was clean and has everything you need including an outdoor grill and picnic table on the deck, a small dock and a row boat and canoe that we enjoyed, not to mention lake breezes and gorgeous sunsets. Our adult children had a blast with some of their friends on the water, having a bonfire and visiting local wineries. The home is near Aurora and Skaneatles for local shopping, antiquing and gorgeous views. We spent a lot of time at a park in Aurora which became my running route daily. It was a short drive away. Anne Marie is nearby to give tips and to ask questions like where is the closet Walmart. There is also a small grocery store, dollar store, gas station and laundry mat nearby in Union Springs. The house has interesting history if you appreciate things that are historic. It was fun to stay there with the knowledge of hundreds of years of history happening. We would definitely rent there again.
AnneMarie was the perfect host! She greeted us when we arrived and gave us an overview of the cottage and general info. We had our daughter and 18 month old granddaughter with us and AnneMarie even brought toys over for her❤️ AnneMarie even lent Eric a fishing pole! She shared the grapes and apples from her yard as well. She was a Wealth of information for places to eat or shop. So very kind ! The cottage was very clean and had everything we needed. We did bring our own linens. Kids will love the loft! Fishing off the dock or on the boat was great. But oh those sunsets!!!
