The house is in a beautiful quiet off the beaten path area, but close enough to everything if you needed something. We were very happy and would definitely stay again!
Definitely on the repeat list for this area. Easy access and all the comforts of my own home!
We has a wonderful getaway long weekend with friends! Property was well appointed and described accurately in the listing. Enjoyed spending time on the outdoor porch and the kitchen had everything we needed! We’ll be back!
House was beautiful but lots of yellow jackets. My son was stung. Bathroom sink was clogged upstairs but everything else was perfect
Enjoyed staying in this cozy, comfortable and well-appointed and well-maintained cottage. Great location.
Our stay was very enjoyable despite a cuple suprises on arrival of an entire bunch of smelly rotten bananas on the kitchen counter & overflowing garbage can outside. I contacted the property rental agency & they understood and took care of the problem. The house very well stocked and comfortable. The town was very peaceful with lots of walking roads, trees, outdoor music & events and our favorite place to eat (the Hideaway). Loved the place & the front porch. Next time we will remember to bring hand towels for the half bath & kitchen.
We have good friends in Mt G and this was the perfect place to stay as a family while we visited with friends. Clean and comfortable.
My husband's grandparents owned this cottage in the 1980s and he spent many summers in Mt. Gretna riding bikes, eating ice cream, shucking corn on the patio and celebrating family birthdays. We've visited for day trips over the years and when we saw the cottage for sale last year we knew that if it became a rental we would need to go. Since there are so few properties in the Chautauqua that are rentals I didn't want to miss an opportunity to stay here! Though much of the cottage has been redone, there were some things that remained the same. Our family enjoyed our stay here and it was a very relaxing place to spend a few summer days. We enjoyed rocking on the porch, going for evening walks and vising the Jigger Shop for sundaes and even benefited from hearing a fabulous concert from the porch one evening. Mt. Gretna is a special place in our hearts and we will be back to visit again!
Very clean, home away from home. Everything you need
Really enjoyed our Mt Gretna vacation at this property. We used the large front porch with rockers to enjoy tea on the cool mornings and listen to the evening music of Billy Joel and Barry Manilow (2nights). We had dinner at the hideaway and jigger shoppe (with ice cream) and another brass band concert. I loved walking the small streets to view all the houses without worrying about traffic and cars. My son played Mah Jong on the Hall porch. Overall the Gretna calendar of Chautauqua cultural events provided a lot of entertainment within easy walking distance. I visited MG many summers as a child and was excited to bring my kids to MG. We will be back.
Mt Gretna is a step back in time. Beautiful and serene. Nothing but the sound of the birds in the morning. The area itself is just like the Black Forest in Germany. We had a busy body neighbor that chastised us about our vehicle. Not uncommon in these types of communities. Our major issue was the fact that listing did not mention that sheets and towels were not provided. We found out when we received the checkin instructions. It was at the end of the instructions and easily missed. We were attending a motorcycle convention and had we ridden from Chicago or flown in, having to pack sheets and towels would have presented a problem. We have rented a number of houses over the years and those items were always supplied. It seems like basic items that should be supplied. Lastly, we slept on the couches. The beds were just too hard. Perhaps adding some foam toppers would help.
Cottage was clean and well stocked. It was within walking distance to everything we wanted to do, including a play at the outdoor theatre! The front porch was lovely and just right for relaxing. Really enjoyed our stay.
It was a Lovely, peaceful cottage that allowed our dog to travel with us.
Wonderful location in beautiful Mt.Gretna. The cottage was very nicely stocked. All the comforts of home. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
We have been coming to Hershey Park every year for the past many years and this is by far the nicest place that we have stayed. It was comfortable, super clean, stocked with everything that anyone would need, and a great location. We loved staying here and are sure to return again. John P.
Our family of five thoroughly enjoyed a few days in this perfect cottage - cooking meals, playing old fashioned games and walking around the community. The property was charming, comfortable and clean - we will be back!
The house was perfect and beautiful. We loved sitting on the porch at night! The area was great to walk around and explore.
We chose this house because it was about 25 minutes from Hershey. It was an adorable cottage that was a perfect fit for our friends and family to stay. The host was great at communicating and shared plenty of information. The host was also very responsive when I had questions. This cottage is perfect for a small group looking for a getaway.
We enjoyed staying in this lovely cottage during our spring break. We enjoyed hiking at the nearby Governor Dick Park, eating a delicious brunch from the Porch and Pantry, and playing at the playground. We visited Lancaster, Strasburg Railroad, and Hershey Park. We hope to return in the summer to swim in the nearby lake and watch a theater performance. Mount Gretna is a great place to stay.
What can we say? The house was immaculate and the neighborhood was perfect! We hope to visit again!
This is a charming home. Very well kept and personalized in such an attractive way. We would stay again.
Beautiful, quiet property in a picturesque area. Cozy and well-stocked, everything was wonderful. We already miss it.
