Stayed Apr 3, 2026We had an amazing time at Bush Grove. Gary has done an incredible job at building this gorgeous cabin which holds everything you possibly need. The whole cabin is beautiful with high ceilings and gives off proper Man from Snowy River vibes with the furnishings and paintings. The cabin was easy to find and you do need to go down a dirt track for 4km but our normal car handled it fine. We also took Gary’s advice and checked out the river. Walking down was a bit sketchy as the gravel road was quite slippery but we managed to get there in one piece. The river setting is spectacular and so peaceful. It was nice to chill here for a bit before getting back and warming up by the fire.Overall we had a fabulous stay and a real change of scenery. Was lovely seeing deer, wallabies, kangaroos and bird life too!

Stayed Jul 27, 2025This cosy cabin, approx 25 minutes from town, is exactly as pictured. While the surrounding 100 acres are secluded, the cabin isn't. The owner Gary lives in his home with his 3 friendly dogs, 6 or so metres away.Driving to the cabin is via 5.5km of smooth dirt n pot holed road. Before booking, if not in a 4WD, best to check with Gary if your car will be OK on this road. While the cabin is stocked with things like dishwashing powder, washing machine powder, a couple of rolls of toilet paper, a litre of UHT milk, hand sanitiser, salt/ pepper, a small bag of coffee beans, plenty of crockery and cutlery as well as two small saucepans, a skillet and two very worn, scratched teflon frying pans, if you are planning to make your meals there, you'll need to BYO anything else inc water. As a word of warning, ask Gary for what you need during the day, not the night, especially if it is more than one item. On the afternoon we arrived, Gary's last words to us were to call him if we needed anything. There was a couple of things. The wi fi password, a larger pot to make a stew in and a can opener. This was apparently too much to ask for so he decided to let us know via an angry rant when he delivered these items to us. We were told no one had ever asked for these things in 15 years. That he couldn't do everything. That we should have something else for dinner instead. That he should be charging more for the cabin. This was so undeserved and very disappointing.

Stayed May 17, 2025A rustic, studio style cottage in the Jindabyne countryside, interesting decor and artwork. convenient to town. Every comfort, with good heating for cold weather. Bushy was helpful and friendly and we appreciated the phone call with directions. Recommended if you fancy a real bush style experience, but like the comforts of home. Lots of wildlife around and not too far too Thredbo.

Stayed Apr 18, 2025We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Bush Grove, the place was comfortable and had all the creature comforts of home while still feeling like a cozy log cabin in the woods. The location is great, only a short run into town but still feel like you’re out in the bush.

Stayed Nov 13, 2024We had high hopes for the surrounds during our stay due to the advertising photos, our expectations were exceeded, the venue being even more stunning. Our host Bushy was a wealth of hospitality and local area knowledge. Both of which we took full advantage of, much to his delight. We are excited to return and would highly recommend staying here to anyone who is eager for a true Snowy Mountain experience. Thanks Bushy, Michelle and Mike.

Stayed Jul 12, 2024The vibe is rustic, man from Snowy River with sweeping views of the country landscape. In winter the landscape is less green but nonetheless beautiful with its earthy tones of greys, greens and browns punctuated by vibrant oranges, purples and yellows. Picturesque and cosy we enjoyed our winter nights by the fire and found ourselves taking morning drives on the long winding road from the property taking in the beauty of the land while watching deer and kangaroo jump along in the fields beside us. It was a great location not too far from the centre of the city so getting dinners and breakfasts in town is easy enough. The host was lovely and you can tell the love and pride that went into building up his property
