Broyle House is a bright and well-presented family house close to the heart of the historic city of Chichester, West Sussex. With views over one of the city's well maintained parks, it is great for anyone looking for a comfortable holiday home within walking distance of many of the great shops and amenities in Chichester and a base from which to explore the area.

On Entering Broyle Road you are met with a spacious stylish living area equipped with a large TV with Netflix, perfect for getting cosy under the blanket and watching all your favourite TV programmes in front of the log burner. Along from the living room is a large kitchen with everything you could possibly need to self-cater during your stay including a kettle, dishwasher, cooker, fridge, freezer, microwave, toaster, washing machine and tumble dryer. There is also a downstairs WC.

On the first floor are 2 double bedrooms, one bedroom has a small double and a large wardrobe, the second bedroom has a super king bed and a TV with Netflix and an en-suite including a free standing bath and a shower room (this is the main bathroom for both bedrooms).

This property has WIFI and 2 parking spaces.
Broyle Road is located just to the North of Chichester city centre and is within a short walk all the shops, restaurants, bars and amenities the city centre has to offer. The history of Chichester dates back to beyond Roman times, but it is perhaps now most famous for its imposing cathedral, which itself is over 1,000 years old. The renowned Chichester Festival Theatre is also just a short walk away, which offers a great selection of shows throughout the year.

Other local attraction include the Goodwood Estate, known around the world for both its horse racing and the Glorious Goodwood week, as well as its motor racing events that include the Goodwood Festival of Speed and the Goodwood Revival. One of the best beaches on the south coast is located at West Wittering, to the south of Chichester. With the excellent road and rail links, it is also easy to visit the cities of Portsmouth, famous as being home to the Royal Navy, and Brighton, which has a wonderful array of shops and bars. London is also less than 2 hours away, with direct trains from Chichester to London Victoria.

The house was pleasant, warm, clean, reasonably well equiped and mostly comfortable. However the lighting needs improvement. In the sitting room a glow bulb in one of the main lights makes reading difficult and the room rather gloomy. One of the bedside lights in the main room wasn't working. The decor was generally OK but getting a bit tired in places and some of the wallpaper in the bathroom was peeling. The house is right on a main road which I feel should have been mentioned before we booked. Although well sound insulated, in the summer when windows are open the noise would be a real nuisance. However the main bedrooom is at the back and so would always be reasonably quiet. As described in the details there is a woodstove in the sitting room but there was no fuel provided and the house instructions discouraged its use and also said that it was difficult to get logs. In view of this I think it would have been better not to mention the stove in the prebooking details or explained that its use is discouraged. On the plus side it is an easy walk into the centre, the Festival Theatre is almost opposite with a pleasant cafe and there is a nice little pub just down the road. Be aware that if you come by train and walk from the station, you still have to go round the back to get in as the side gate was locked.

We had a lovely pre-Christmas festive break away from our busy time at home in this cosy house. Everything was clean and tidy, the beds were very comfy and the welcome gifts were much appreciated. Just a ten minute walk from the City centre, we could spend a day visiting the sights and pottering around the shops without worrying about parking. Further afield, the coast is a 20 minute drive away, as is beautiful Arundel with its castle and magnificent cathedral on the hill, and of course the impressive Roman palace at Fishbourne. We felt we’d just scratched the surface of places to visit so we’ll definitely be back!

Really nice house with great facilities. Perfect family base for our family wedding at Goodwood and great value for money. Easy to walk into Chichester and access all it has to offer. Unlikely to be back in the area but would not hesitate to book again. Helpful feedback ( hopefully) The kitchen is the heart of this house and opening onto a good garden space is a bonus. It’s a great space but the garden and patio would benefit from a bit more love and attention. Master bedroom and en-suite is stunning. Second bedroom not so much and feels like a spare room. Again just spread the love that appears elsewhere in the house to this room. And the front hallway really needs sorting out. To be blunt, it smells. This may be an ongoing damp problem or just a one off but it’s a small space, a small problem and would make a huge difference if it was sorted out. Again I’m hoping this is helpful because we loved our stay and it was a a fantastic family weekend. Broyle House played its part Thank you.

Broyle House provided an excellent base for our 10 day stay in Chichester. Parking was great for our one large car and access to the property was easy. The house was in a good location for us, very easy walk into Chichester and nice to have the park across the road. There was some traffic noise in the front bedroom with the windows open but was absolutely quiet with them shut. Both beds were comfy and there was plenty of storage in both rooms. The house does show slight signs of wear and tear as previous reviews have commented on but nothing that caused an issue for us. The upstairs bathroom is very spacious and the water pressure was good. The lounge was comfy and the kitchen a very nice bright space. There is a large fridge and freezer in the property which was very useful and everything was very easy to use. We would definitely return to Broyle House in the future.

The house is in a fab location and check in was straight forward and easy. Parking was easy and convenient. But it’s a little run down. The shower was dirty, the floorboards were creaky (not great when trying to get small children to sleep). The kitchen was renovated but a while ago and it’s a little dirty and grimy and everything creaks. It was also impossibly hot in the sunshine in the kitchen - like a greenhouse. The garden was also not very child friendly and had discarded items (a car roof rack) on the side of the lawn. Overall, the location was great but I’m not sure we’d go back.

The house is well located about 5 minutes walk from town and ideally situated if you are visiting the Festival Theatre. It's well appointed but desperately needs some re decoration and a deep clean as there were cobwebs in most areas at high level and marks on a lot of the walls and the kitchen cabinet doors are showing signs of age but overall the house is nice and comfortable. The boiler needs attention - it performed well providing hot water but kept going on and off at all hours. Parking for two cars but very tight - the trimming of the hedge would improve this. We had a couple of cleanliness issues when we arrived but they were speedily dealt with by the agent. Although it's on one of the main roads into town, it's fairly quiet.

Location of the property is great there is a just a need for attention to detail.Lights not working, dishwasher issue and some TLC required overall. This was reported but they were unable to get sorted quicklyIt did not spoil our break but maybe a property inspection would highlight some of the work required.

We arrived friday afternoon and left monday morning. A courtesy call would have been much appreciated particularly as the office is the only contact and is office hours only Monday to Friday. There was a light bulb that needed replacing in the front lounge, we nearly broke a load of crockery because the top shelf of the dishwasher had no stoppers and there was a broken glass in the cupboard (which we wanted to report so you knew it was not us that broke it. Not considered emergency problems so felt we could not phone the other number.

It took a little while to get comfortable. But after some adjustments we settled in and could enjoy our stay. It was easy to get on foot to the city centre. The house has all necessary equipments.
